In an earlier hand he minraised from MP with 88. I called from the BB with 66 and flop came 644. I check-raised to setup a turn shove, but turned a 6. I thought it might kill my action so I decided to check, as I could still shove river if it was checked through. River was a 2 that didn't complete any flush draws, I shoved and he called with 88.

Well, at least it didn't cost you much relatively speaking. Nice stack.I'm not one to get gunshy against a sudden lead off a blank river, but think about what beats us here: any K, any Q, J6, A6, AA-66, 22. We can probably discount AA-JJ, AK-AQ, KQ... if he isn't playing passive and hoping to milk us on a good flop. Either way, that still leaves quite a bit of range. What is this station leading this river with that we beat?

The check behind on the turn is a bit odd, and we can probably narrow his range based on it. It suggests to me that he's either got a monster (such as a King) or a very weak hand. Anything midrange and he'd probably try to take the pot there to avoid being outdrawn, especially since your turn check shows weakness. We can't read much from his flop call since (1) he's cally postflop and (2) he could be calling a wide range thinking you're just trying to steal it.I agree with Moving that we can eliminate the big hands based on his 22/11 stats but we can also eliminate the junk (like J6, weak Kings, weak Q's). Based on his preflop limp we can probably put him on 22-TT, A2s-ATs, maybe A8-AT, KT-KQ, QJ, JT. You're behind 22, 77-TT, A2s, A6s, KT-KQ, and QJ. You beat 33-55, A3s-A5s and A7s-ATs, A8-AT, and JT. The big question is how likely he is to bluff the river. If you eliminate a bluff from his arsenal, you're only beating 33-55 from that range.

i agree. although it may not be the "correct call" im calling here. doesn't cost me enough to consider a fold, but im not raising either.

If you are going to throw 600 more into the pot. Why not fire the turn like 700 maybe..?His flop call doesnt tell you much, imo. He could be calling with anything. A turn bet will see if he has anything, making it easier to get away from it on the river since he calls the turn with Kx, Qx(I would not be surprised if Villian called the flop with QJ-ish) 6x or a PP.Of the above, we tie 6x with the exception of J6. We beat 55-33 and lose to everything else. I fold thiss, but again fire the turn.

Bet 800 on the turn and quit to any resistance there or on the river.
villain started with 2600.. you're gonna put 1400 of his 2600 chips in the middle and then fold?
