That's quite a cool pic. It'd be nice if someone could come up with a time lapse video montage of Vegas Strip from 1954 to now. The growth is quite scary I think,
That picture just reinforces the idea of 'what were they thinking?'.
I love pictures like that. I wish there was some way to go back in time and actually see what it was like back then in Vegas, or Chicago, etc
It's hard to believe that is real; crazy how much growth and development has occured in just 50 years btw, shouldn't Paris be on the other side of the MGM
lol Dunes hotel. Old school
Selling the original MGM plot of land (which is Ballys now) is what helped Krikorian build his empire from what I remember. He than sold the other side of Ceasars which was a parking lot for a tonne of cash and that really got the ball rolling.
Some good stuff in here with old vids at the bottom.Old Vegas
Paris is in the right spot, the property noted as MGM Grand is the original MGM Grand, which is now Bally's. The Dunes is where Bellagio is now.
Back when you could buy strip property for $40 an acre.
the dubai comparison is pretty cool too.... just exploded in like 15-20 years
