Yeah, the more I think about the more I would raise. As long as you are playing within your bankroll then you should be able to raise here. It's the BB and a LAG player to boot. I would be thinking he missed a straight draw. Maybe that is a leak in my game, but for some reason I just don't give a LAG player credit for a flopped straight or flopped two pair. Like I said before if he has the goods so be it ... I am playing within my bankroll and I would put it into my memory database for next time. I just think with a LAG player you have to raise there.
Do you bet/call with your busted straight draws on the river?

As with anything in poker ... it depends. But if you are thinking that the other person was floating nothing and you can get them to fold a better hand ... then absolutely I bet a busted straight draw on the river.

I meant bet/call as a line; that is bet, and then call a raise.

He made a couple of decent laydowns in the first episode, that others may have paid off. Top pair to Patrik I think, memory failing me though.
yea that is true, he made a good laydown, it was against benyamine though

For those of you suggesting that raising the river is the right play...Hand 0: 65.000% 63.33% 01.67% 19 0.50 { 55, 33, A6s, K6s, Q6s, J6s, T6s, 96s, 86s, 76s, 74s, 63s+, 42s, 76o, 65o }Hand 1: 35.000% 33.33% 01.67% 10 0.50 { Ac6c }Those are the hands that Dwan could have that might call a raise. However, I actually think he's going to fold a lot of the non-boats.Fwiw, I'm happy that the public now thinks they should raise trips in that spot.

Can someone translate this for me? So is a river raise good or bad? I'm assuming bad.

Since we have 35% equity, we're getting fine odds to call, but putting in more money with less than 50% equity is bad.

No, if I bet a busted straight draw and I get raised then it is a definite fold for me.Which I think is good as well because then we haven't had to show down our hand and no one gets any information about how we played that hand.

What he is saying is that a raise does nothing against a bluff which is a part of durrs range. Durr isn't calling with a bare 6 here.I suck at cash and even I can tell this would be a terrible raise. This kid is one of the best out there, he's not calling.

Okay so I think I get it. My whole point is to raise to get value from two directions. 1 is being able to make more money on a bad call by Durr and 2 is to not give away information if he folds. You are saying that the inherent value of losing to his range is worse than giving away information on a flat call.I guess that is why I don't play nosebleed games. I would still raise that river given the action in my local casino against one of our LAG players, but I can see the logic behind the call in that particular game.

And even then, I probably still don't raise the river the way the action went.

Yea you aren't calling to save information, you are calling to save money. You are losing like 30 cents for every dollar you put in. Eastgate played the hand fine imo, giving away information isn't really going to affect him when he can argue the way he played the hand.

Is Eli Elezra is winning player? (more specifically, in NL HE?)He creates a lot of action, sure, but too often seems to just spew and makes some horrible calls... but then he'll do something almost genius/make a great read or something. I dunno, what's the general opinion of him, I guess?
He's only won one WSOP bracelet and one WPT main event. He won his first WSOP bracelet by winning the World Championship Seven Card Stud Hi-Low in the 2007 World Series of Poker after defeating Scotty Nguyen heads-up. Before the event Elezra had made a side bet with Barry Greenstein laying 10:1 odds that he would win a World Series Bracelet in 2007. He had made the bet for $25,000 and collected $250,000 for his win, resulting in more money than the first place prize in the event that he won.

fear of a player that will call you with a lot of hands would make you reconsider raising them without the nuts or close to it, plus his range is so big it can be hard to put him on a hand
Yes exactly, and Durrr is a good enough player to realise that

Yea he crushes the biggest games online because he is a payoff monkey.Just because someone plays a lot of hands doesn't mean they play poorly postflop.
Yeah, just because he is a loose player doesn't mean he will make an objectively bad call.
