How funny is it that he writes an article basically proclaiming how wonderful his life is and gets, as of this moment, six pages of flames. I always found Antonio to be one of those people who not only loves himself but is in love with himself. In his little mind, the world is his. He is still a punk in my book, but eventually he will grow up.

Hi all,I just wanted to chime in here as well. I agree with what Rob has stated in his post. While Antonio can sometimes go over board wth his antics, nobody who has had the opportunity of hanging out with him can say anthing but nice things about him.Rob, I also agree that Antonio is great for the game. He gets people talking, which is exactly what is going on here. Wheather you like him or not, you still pay attention to what he is doing. Antonio is also the first one to poke fun at himself. He knows what he is doing and quite frankly it has been a great marketing platform for him. Again, I am not saying I agree with everything he does, but I do respect his self promotion. I also respect Helmuth and Daniel for all that they contribute to poker.Plain and simple this is good for poker as it brings out more people to the game, which is a good thing! Now regarding the article in All In, I can tell you this for a fact! Antonio did not, I REPETE did not write the article. The article was written by John Vorhouse and Antonio did not even see it before it went to print. I personally asked him this because I felt it competed with the article he writes for Bluff (Poker Like a Rock Star). So, what you are reading is basically a peice he was unaware of.Yes, I do know that it sounds like soemthing he would write, but the facts are what they are and no sense giving him sh*t for something he did not write.FYI - great thread!

ok, so he didnt write the article....what about the website?? did he not write that as well....it's pretty much the same type of stuff in the article...at what point is he gonna take responsibility for being an ass?i think he thought everybody would love the article and the site, and it would make him seem like a big man on the circuit..it has actually knocked him down a peg or 2, exactly what he deserved..he talks about how he came from humble begennings,if thats the case he should know that all this can be taken away with a wave of your hand.<pun intended>he needs to land back on earth and remeber the days when he slept in his car and had to do the macarena for spare change while slinging hash..

Ivyfan,I hear what you are saying and agree to a certain point. However, please also remember that he is 25 years old, has 2 million in his account, a hot girlfirend, autograph seekers hounding him every place he goes and access to VIP treatment at any night club. That is enough to give anyone a bit of an ego.He is living the life that any 25 year old would envy. Think back to when you were his age and put yourself in his position. Also remember that a lot of this is for show. I truely believe that if anyone out there had a chance to sit down and talk with him one on one, you would have a much different opinion.I had a similair opinion of Phil Helmuth until I had the opportunity to meet with him on several occassions. I drew my own conclusions based on what I read and saw on TV. I now think Phil is a PR machine and a great embassadore for the game.

i dont mean any disrespect, but in one post you say he did not write the article, and that he is not like how he was portrayed,,then in your next post, you try to defend his actions by falling back on the " well he's only 25".... havent seen so much flop flopping since john kerry...he is trying to get out from under this train wreck that is his big mouth...he deserves all the negative publicity this brings and he deserves to be mocked by every railbird he comes across....

Ivyfan,I did not realize I was flip flopping. I just pointed out the one fact and came to his defense on another.I also stated that the article sounded like something he could have written. I just wanted to make everyone aware that he did not write the article as the criticism for that piece is (that piece only) is unwarrented.I fully respect your views on Antonio, but at the same time, I am trying to enlighten you to his true personality.

well i like antonio at first...but this stuff is some of the gayest things i have seen. He seems arrogant, but when they interviewed him he said that poker was going to be his job for about five years...at least he knows enough to get out once the boom is over. A true cocky player would play until he was flat broke, and then he would still play anyway.

If someone wrote a piece of trash like that article and put my name on it I would be irrate. Heads would be rolling. Ok the rocks and rings makes him look cheesy, so what. The article makes him look like an elitest censored. All I know is I would be on this forum telling these people the whole story and kicking some butt down at All In. Why doesn't Antonio come on here and tell us himself, or are we to insignificant for him to bother. One thing I love about poker is the people are real not Hollywood jackasses. I wish him the best but I would be putting my house in order if I were him.
