Some patriot you are, no Canadian Club??
QFT.Bottle of ginger-ale too, please.
OMG give your heads a shake, Crown Royal is Canadian and is 100% better than CC. I would perfer CR straight up compared to CC any day. Of course ginger ale for the sissy's who need it.http://www.artofdrink.com/2006/05/crown-royal.phpCrown RoyalDarcy O'Neil :: May 29, 2006 8:54 PM To start my Canadian whisky review I figure I should start with the royalty of Canadian whisky, Crown Royal, and one of the standards by which I'll judge other Canadian whiskies. Almost everyone who drinks whisky has heard, tasted or observed Crown Royal sitting on the back bar. Crown Royal was one of the first super premium spirits when it was created in 1939 for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth during a royal visit to Canada. Whether the Seagram's company knew it at the time, or not, that was a stoke of genius for advertising. Especially in a country that had very close ties to England. This spirit was only available in Canada until 1964 and then for the past forty plus years has become a brand recognized around the world.Crown Royal is a ten year old whisky, but may have whiskies that are much older in it. In the early days up to 40 different whiskies were used to make Crown Royal, this allowed for the creation of a unique spirit where no single component was identifiable. The distillery in Gimli, Manitoba has over 1,000,000 barrels of whisky to pick from to create the Crown Royal blend. Originally the oldest whisky component was 35 years old, but after a few years it was reduced to a 30 year old. At the present time there is no information on the oldest whisky used in the Crown Royal blend, however, the Crown Royal Special Reserve is a premium product that may contain a number of older whiskies. Inventory management must be hell.Crown Royal is the number one selling Canadian whisky and the number two selling Canadian whisky in the United States. Crown follows Canadian Mist, which obviously holds the number one spot, but as of late Crown Royal is taking over certain markets, partially from its NASCAR involvement. It is also the name of a Run DMC album, so move over P.Diddy and Busta, Crown Royal is moving in and Courvoisier is out. Crown Royal is recognized around the world and sells over three million cases per year and is the most profitable brand in the US spirit industry. Not bad for a blended whiskey. For comparison, Johnnie Walker Red Label sells 6.8 million cases per year.Crown Royal Review: NeatColour: golden (deeper gold than Jameson but lighter than Maker's Mark)Nose: smooth nose with rye, toffee and some fruit. Slightly alcoholic to start but as the minutes pass the nose becomes more intense with chocolate making a pleasant appearance.Palate: tastes smooth with a little rye bite. Semi sweet, but not as sweet as other Canadian whiskies. Finishes: fairly long with a smooth dry rye and oak spiciness. Notes: Crown Royal has more bite than one would expect from the advertising. This is a good thing because it provides a lot of character to the whisky. With WaterAdding just a few milliliters of water makes some subtle but enjoyable changes. The nose remains about the same, but most of the alcohol disappears leaving just the rye, chocolate and fruit. The water brings out a lot of sweetness and more of the rye characteristics. The finish is still spicy with the oak being very present. The finish is long with the sweet spice and oak. The big change is the perception of the sweetness on the palette and in the finish. When comparing to Jameson Irish Whiskey, the Jameson has a lighter colour (straw) than Crown Royal and the nose is slightly alcoholic with malt (maybe grass) and subtle fruit. On the palette Jameson is malty with fruit and is very smooth. Once you add water the malt becomes even more evident, and whisky smooths out substantially, where as the Crown Royal maintains its spiciness and becomes sweeter, but still has that all important oak and spice. Given a choice, I'd go with the Crown Royal. When compared to Jack Daniels whiskey, it's a no contest. Crown Royal has more flavour and is smoother. Maker's Mark whiskey is different story. But with a price 50% greater, Crown is a better option, unless you're rich. Then who cares.Crown Royal Summary Overall, Crown Royal is a pleasure to drink. It is smooth in that Canadian way, but not flavorless and definitely has a unique character. Obviously it is popular for a number of reasons, but for me it is a spirit that is enjoyable on the simplest level. It's not overpowering flavour-wise like some scotch and bourbon, it's smooth so almost anyone can enjoy it with water or club soda and drinking a good whisky, with good company, is better than drink the best scotch by yourself.Price: $24.75 (750ml)Availability: World Widehttp://www.drunkmansguide.com/Canadian Club Whisky Review Canadian Club Review by Matthew Coers RATING 4/5 Canadian Club Whisky may be a bit under-rated, and perhaps that's why I like it so much. It's like the shy girl in glasses who really loosens up on the first date. You didn't know what to expect when you took it off the shelf, but this whisky could turn out to be the best thing that's happened to your liquor cabinet in a very long time. Canadian whiskies are known for their smooth, light taste. They are blended whiskies made from barley, corn and rye grains. Stylistically, Canadian whisky has some of the smokey flavor of bourbon, but its smoothness is closer to Scotch. It isn't as distinctive as either, but that is probably what most consumers like about it. It mixes well in any cocktail calling for whiskey, and if you prefer your liquor straight or neat, then the taste won't blow you away. Side-by-side ComparisonCanadian Club is a very good example of what Canadian Whisky is supposed to be. In a side-by-side comparison with Crown Royal and Seagrams VO Canadian, Canadian Club was just as good. The color was a little lighter than the Crown Royal, but darker than the Seagrams. The flavor was smoother than the Crown, but not quite as sweet as the Seagrams. It should be pointed out here that the differences were subtle. If you don't taste them side-by-side, then you probably won't notice any differences. The Value PropositionFor the most part, it is hard to find good deals on liquor. That is because with liquor the price tag is almost always a very good indicator of quality. The higher the price - the better the liquor. Usually. Putting Canadian Club up against Crown Royal might seem like an unfair comparison. After all, Crown Royal has the reputation for being the best, and it costs twice as much. Plus, I admit it; I have a small pile of little blue felt bags in the cabinet to prove my appreciation for the Crown Royal brand. But I've learned something new here. To this Drunken taste tester Canadian Club whisky is every bit as good as Crown Royal – maybe even better. And at half the price it is hard to justify buying Crown Royal unless you're really into the cute little bags.

Officially staying at the Stratosphere, I got a decent deal on a recently remodeled room. I have stayed here before and it wasn't bad. If anyone wants to go halvsies and take the other bed let me know, but let it be known that I only wear Ed Hardy boy shorts to bed, so, if you don't like dudes with tigers on their undies this is not the room for you. Also, I sleep with the T.V. on, and you get the bed closest to the door, for obvious reasons.

[x] have never used "[x]"'s before[x] very excited about Vegas[ ] golf game is in great form[x] have begun saving $$ for a "guilt-free Vegas bankroll"[x] wheel of fortune slot machine donated to that bankroll yesterday (see below)[ ] also wears Ed Hardy boyshorts to bedWOF story:They didn't need me at work yesterday, so I clocked out without working and headed to a neighboring casino. I had $430 on me, and decided risk $300 on blackjack (there are no other poker rooms in this town). After I was down $330 on blackjack and another $50 on craps, I decided to leave. As I walked out, I thought "eff it. I might as well put $40 in a slot machine and see what happens." From across the room, the $1 Wheel of Fortune machine beckoned me. "At only $3 a pull", I thought, "it's better than those penny machines that con you into betting $5 a pull." So WOF it was. In went $40. First pull.... nothing. Second pull.... nothing. Third pull.... I win a free spin on the wheel. "Great", I think, "this will keep me going a little longer at least." The wheel spins.... I see some decent numbers, yet there's the $40 wedge coming around. "Yep, it's going to stop on the $40"......The wheel slips right past the $40 and stops on the next slot for..... $1,000!I immediately cash out of the machine, tip $5 to a slot attendant who happened to be watching, $5 more each to a blackjack dealer and craps dealer who had been nice while I was losing, made a bee-line for the cashier, and got the hell out of Dodge.$300 of profit goes to the bank to make up for a missed night of work, and $300 goes into my Vegas fund, which is money above and beyond my poker bankroll and earmarked strictly for Vegas indulgences.

Me? Let me know. And if it's only one bed by accident, I'll take front spoon if I have to.

The way I'm looking at doing this is I'm buying a truck in Vancouver and might get someone to drive it down to Vegas, I'd meet them there, take a couple of days off then drive it down to Mexico.Really need a new car down here and would have to personally drive it into the country.
