If you want to play in a decent tournament, they run a $42 + 20 (optional rebuy) at Sahara at 11am, 7pm and 11pm - the 7pm tourney usually has about 160(ish) people. The 11pm is in the 50-70 range and I've never played the morning tourney so not sure the size.Have a great trip!
Devilkin 0
Thanks - I hadn't even considered playing in a tourney, was just looking for a soft cash game to play for awhile. Ill look into the Excaliber and its tourney structure.Dev
budfox427 0
I agree on Excalibur. Also, if you want to chill and play a tournament, when I was there they had a couple $25 freezeouts a day. They were in turbo format, so it didn't eat up your whole day, and they had 70 people with 10 on the waitlist (don't get in on the waitlist--the first guy to bust out was usually in the third blind structure, and you only started with $3k in chips). They were fun and pretty soft. I bubbled out in the first live one I had ever played in a casino on a bad beat--my KQ suited versus 9-4 off
Kevin Garceau 0
Luxor... 1/1/2 NL, 50 dollar max, with rebuy up to 99.Very soft, very profitable. Small card room though, very small.
rustynail43 0
On my last trip I also found the Luxor to be a very soft game. Most were looking to have fun and did not seem to care about the money. What they did not want was to be embarrassed. Remember your "You were right you got to call that down" speech. If they make a bad play and someone says something, defend them. "Hey I would make that call" Keep them having fun at the table as long as you can. Just don’t get caught up in the bad poker.I spent my days at a couple of very profitable poker rooms on the strip, but spent the nights playing poker downtown. Don’t leave Vegas without making it downtown at least once. Don’t expect a soft game downtown. Watch some of the old timers and see how they play. I found some very experienced players playing at lower limits downtown. You can learn a lot at those tables. Good Luck!
budfox427 0
I'm an idiot. In my original post, I played NL cash games at Excalibur. The $25 tourneys were at the Luxor. My bad on that.
DTrain 0
I was in Vegas about a month ago and heard the 1/2 nl game at Imperial Palace was one of the softest around. I was not disappointed. The game at IP nearly always had a drunk or two at the table who would make ridiculously bad calls. That caused a couple suckouts for me, but in 7 hours of play there I had a profit of about $500.I also played the 2/4 nl, $200 buy-in game at Mandalay. Tougher competition, but there was usually at least one weak player at the table. The only time I really ran into problems there was one particular table where 2 people each had over $2000 in front of them, which forced me to pick my spots to be aggressive. mjd 0
The Bally's NL table is right next to one of their bars. A very soft poker room with tons of drinking in the evenings. But small. Luxor and Excalibur are also always excellent choices.

I was playing 2/4 there, but someone said the NL game was way looser than even the 2/4, lol. Also, the Flamingo's 1/2 NL game. This one I actually played in, and made $230 in a few hours. The max buyin is $200 too... so you have pretty deep stacks. Don't listen to anyone who says to play a 1/2 game with a $50 or $100 buyin, that's just stupid.Flamingo or Imperial Palace. I was just there last weekend and made 300 bucks on saturday night with some guy at the table who blew thru 600 bucks as he told us stories of him winning 1100 the night before at the same table. Then before I left Sunday I got inot their $55 dollar tourney, cuz I had just made a quick 65 at the NL game, and ended up getting 4th place out of 61 entrants. $370 not a bad payout for a tourney I basically entered for free. I just wish I had gotten more time in the poker room, but I was with a bunch of buddies doin the get drunk, play blackjack, roam the town thing. But thats my 2 cents. Have a good time in Vegas. Hope your poker pays for your trip like mine did. Good Luck.
Quagmire 0
You guys are scaring me saying that the NL game at Imperial Palace is softer than Mandalay Bay. I've found the game at Mandalay to be ridiculously easy to beat, and probably the most profitable game for me over the past year. If the game at IP is so much softer, I wonder how much fun I've missed out on?At Mandalay, the blinds are 2/4 with a max. buy in of $200. the first table you'll be at is a feeder table for the main tables that they try to keep full. You want to try to build a little bit of a stack before you get moved, because it's likely that you'll see a guy at the main table who has been there all day and has over a grand sitting in front of him.Oh yeah, once you're at the main table, hopefully you'll get a seat facing the main walkway outside of the poker room. It leads right to Rum Jungle, and the ladies walking by are all a very nice distraction when you're not in a hand.
dna4ever 2
Last year I played a $40 rebuy tournament at Imperial Palace. I dont remember much about it other then it started at midnight which sucked. I ended up making it to final table and finishing 2nd place for like a $800 payday. It didnt end til like 5:30 am and I had a 'business seminar' to attend at 8 am, that was a lot of fun. I remember the game being pretty soft.
