You got my hopes up, jerk.

Some good news from Leaf land....Carlyle has figured out how to work the toaster.

Can Kypreos be a bigger douche? just a voice for every player in negotiations.   "Dion wants 50million+ over 7yrs, and Newport Sports has the stats to prove why he deserves it" STFU

Interesting tidbit I heard on the radio. The coaches with the 3 worst records in the NHL are......Pat Quinn, Paul Maurice, and Ron Wilson.
All former geniouses.

First of all, who gave serge a second account, cuz there's no way this Lenny guy is a separate personSecond, weren't we just talking about star players that light up the Leafs at will?

FYI Crosby now has scored 30 points (12g/18a) in 19 career games against the leafs...ouch.
Malkin has 34 pts in 15 games against the Leafs
95802509430x296.jpgOvy with 18 goals and 14 assists in 19 career games against the Laughs...5pt night...Nah, has nothing to do with coaching at all I guess.

Don't you follow the leafs? :club: We'll turn it on and go on a 13-game run to end the season, finish one point out of 8th and then pick a stud defenceman that nobody heard of because it was all about Tavares. This year is not a freak-out because we suck year. Sure our defence got (presumably) a lot better in the off-season, but who REALLY thought the Leafs were suddenly going to turn into a contender with last year's core still intact? Honestly, our forwards are Phil Kessel, some rookies, and a bunch of hacks.Leafs-nation does have an annoying habit of going batshit crazy before doing that little thing humans sometimes do, called THINKING. :ts And that's coming from a premier Leafs-Nation citizen.

Answer: Brian Burke, Serge and countless other Leafs fans.
You're....2/3 right. Serge is almost certainly older than I am (22?), thus he has seen more futility than I have, and probably has a better recollection of some of the disappointment (GG Kerry Fraser) than I do, thus every glimmer of hope to him looks like the sun exploding. Can't really fault him. I've grown up as the generation X of leaf fans you might say: dedicated, but bitter and cynical. The countless other leaf fans? Same boat (Kessel Vessel?) as serge. We're the biggest hockey market in the world, and shit tends to get blown WAYYYYYYY out of proportion here. Bad things (have the mob trashed Vesa's house yet? Slackers.), but also good things like new potential (ie Phil Kessel). The TO Media, MLSE, fans, EVERYBODY put WAY too much on Kessel's shoulders. They set hopelessly impossible goals and are now going to lay the playoffless carcass of the leafs 09-10 season at the feet of Kessel and his 13-game scoring slump. Which is absurd.However. I don't think Burkie REALLY believed it when he said "We will contend for a playoff spot". He had to realize he had average and unproven goaltending and very little firepower up front, even if he thought the defense would be a lot better (Even I figured they'd be better defensively than this).

You're....2/3 right. Serge is almost certainly older than I am (22?), thus he has seen more futility than I have, and probably has a better recollection of some of the disappointment (GG Kerry Fraser) ...what did he cost you, other than the chance to get beaten mercilessly by the habs, just as the kings were...than I do, thus every glimmer of hope to him looks like the sun exploding. Can't really fault him. Yes, we can. Being a fan of a team is one thing. Acting like a crybaby over meaningless internet postings is entirely another. Slackers.) there will be no mob going to Vesa's house - nobody cares enough, just add him to the pile of goaltending failures of MLSE management...what will be more interesting to see is what happens with the "monster" as an RFA this year (barring him having yet another heart attack - but who can blame him) , but also good things like new potential (ie Phil Kessel). The TO Media, MLSE, fans, EVERYBODY general manager by way of trading away 3 premium future draft choices put WAY too much on Kessel's shoulders. They set hopelessly impossible goals and are now going to lay the playoffless carcass of the leafs 09-10 season at the feet of Kessel and his 13-game scoring slump. Which is absurd. Nobody's blaming Kessel for the Leafs not contending this year except for Ron Wilson, who's resorted to taking pot shots at an under-talented team to cover up his poor coaching decisions. True hockey fans understand one guy can't do it all on his own.However. I don't think Burkie REALLY believed it when he said "We will contend for a playoff spot". He had to realize he had average and unproven goaltending and very little firepower up front, even if he thought the defense would be a lot better (Even I figured they'd be better defensively than this). If you truly believe that statement, that only adds fuel to the fire of you being a secondary account for the departed mr serge (come to think of it, you're posting a lot today since his supposed departure)

-Talking shit about a series that never happened seems kind of....ridiculous.-You really think I'm serge don't you?-Vesa frequently gets booed off the ice, I'd say people care. And he will be the......second (?) goaltending disaster in my memory, after Raycroft. Two is a huge pile. Belfour/Cujo/Potvin all happened to be pretty good. You're a habs fan? Worry about Carey Price. (GRANTED, MLSE has a laundry list of OTHER savage mistakes, none of which I'm happy about or remotely considering defending)-If Phil scores 20 or less goals in the next 3 seasons, THEN I'll admit it wasn't worth it. Until then, he had an immediate impact and has a ton of future potential. Picks have potential, but are less likely to be realized than a player in Kessel's situation. Plus our development system.......I dunno man. I wonder if we can pay the Wings to keep our prospects in their system until they're ready?-Seriously, I'm not serge. From what I've gathered in my trolling days, serge doesn't use any of the punctuation that I do. I'm a fundamentally different human being. Also literally, and physically.

From the Toronto Sun:The Maple Leafs’ boss was talking up a storm Saturday, declaring the Leafs were not out of the playoff race, but were ready for any trade scenario, either before the NHL Olympic roster freeze in three weeks or the frenzied follow up to the March 3 league deadline. The Leafs have just concluded two days of pro scouting meetings in Ft. Lauderdale and Burke hung out the ‘Open For Business’ sign right after.

“We rate all the teams, rate all the players and are ready to move if a team steps up,” Burke said. “If I could make a deal today that could propel us into the playoffs, I’d make it."
uh, is this guy fkin drunk? What trade exactly could propel the Leafs in to the playoffs? Ponikarovsky and Stajan for Malkin and Crosby?

He does it because all teh sheep will eat it up and praise him for it. He is proving that no matter how ridicoulous he can be they will still follow his lead in blind acceptance. they are 17-26-10 and looing to make a push for the playoffs. haha.

For a group of guys who hate the Leafs and hate their management, you sure do expand a lot of time and energy dissecting nearly all of Burke's statements, and anything else the Leafs do/say.Im no Leafs apologist, and I know they are riddled with failures/mistakes/misery (Ive been watching them for 30yrs, you dont have to sell me!), but seriously, why do YOU care so much? Your beginning to sound very Serge-like in your posts. And another note, ever think what he says publicly is NOT what he is doing/thinking privately? Or is that just too much for you guys to grasp, since its a Leafs thing.Just curious...what happened to the Habs thread? As a hockey fan, I find it ironic you Habs fans post what feels like 75% about the Leafs and nothing about the Habs anymore.

To whom are you talking?Have you noticed the title of the thread? This is where we discuss how and why the Leafs suck. I'm not sure why you feel the need to enter this thread if you don't feel a need to discuss how and why the Leafs suck. Or at least read about it...you don't have to participate. As far as energy expended...I'm certain my earlier post was a lot effortless that your post. And will you be making a similar post in the AntiHabs/Sens/Pens thread?

Actually, I was referring mostly to bdc30. Lately, I get the feeling 90% of his posts are just rants on the Leafs, I didnt know he hated Serge/Leafs so much.I get that thats what happens in this thread, but if I look at FCP-Hockey as a whole, its kinda sad that you and he post more in here, than you do in your own Habs thread. Dont you find that ironic?

I guess it boils down to the fact that I'm more likely to respond to something than I am to initiate something. Also Brent and Serge do not get along.
