hex2r 0
Hey DanielI was wondering whether or not you are going to run your annual WSOP fantasy pool again this year. I would love to know if you were doing it again because it seems like a fun way to try and win a little money while sweating out all of the different events. I would definately be down for throwing down on the pool if u are doing it again.

Grimlock 0
I was in his pool last year through LAP Forum and it was a lot of fun, but you don't draft players you just put them in order of who will do the best. Sort of like confidence points in a football pool. But last year was pretty hard with a lot of no names playing in the events (and that number should only increase this year). Also, it is pretty funny to be in a fantasy pool with the players that you have on your team. I remember when Ted Forrest and Todd Brunson were running away with the pool after the first week last year. It's like having Derek Jeter leading your fantasy baseball league (twisted for sure).Grimlock

lifeofsports 0
Hey everyone My site is looking at creating a large contest but we are actually trying to work out the details on how we can do it. With people qualifying through satelites all the time it's tough to get clear idea on who is in the event and how we can run it.I will keep you posted on how we are doing and if we can progress enough to get something set up under the current circumstances. If you could know all of the competitors in advance it would be pretty easy but considering the circumstances it's going to be tough... Does anyone know when the last satelite takes place for the event? If anyone has any ideas on how we can run a large tourney that would be fun please drop me an email because we are interested in getting something of QUALITY up and running..ThanksChris@lifeofsports.com

Petoria 0
You guys are all forgetting 2 ppl who are having unbelievable years:1. Amir Vahedi2. Marcel Luskeand yes those are my picks and i'll take them against anyone in the world right now, even DN.I agree with the previous poster who put The Grinder close to the top and i agree especially with the confidence he just gained by beating Scotty Nguyen at the Mirage in the heads up tournament. CodyHartman 0
I would like to see a pool done something like this.1. assign a $$/point value to each player (a way to handicap the players by pervious results since the start of last years WSOP, doesn't have to be EVERY player, just pros) 2. Give each player in the pool a certain amount of points3. Allow each person to be able to pick their players up to the amount of points they have4. assign point values for cashing in events, with higher points for the higher you cash, along with a multiplier for # of entrants and amount of buy-in (could use a system similar to CardPlayers POY)5. Highest points win. (duh)Okay I dont know how the system is set-up from previous years. Also there are kinks to work out #1 being the hardest, it's very subjective to assign points, I know this and this is the major component of the pool too.Okay flame on OR add your 2 cents for tweaking to this idea.Cody
hex2r 0
For information on how Daniel has run this pool in the past you can go search other poker forums like RGP. Just search for WSOP Fantasy Pool. Daniel uses a system which I believe is a very fair and smart way of assigning points based on their performance in each of the events. And for those who don't know there is no draft process in this pool. Everyone can pick and rank whichever players they want and multiple people can have the same people. The system is set up so that 2 people who pick the exact same people can still have very different point totals based on how they rank their order.

This similar to the system that I was talking about except that your position of importance matters. KEWL

Sounds like it has holes....I'd say Juanda, ivey, dn.Although, if Moneymaker doesn't get the miracle two outer against Ivey's set in 2003, Ivey goes on to win that year. That was crushing and was Ivey's tournament to lose as soon as Moneymaker calls the all-in.
