http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news/artic...nnounces-lineupHigh Stakes Poker has just announced its lineup of stars and professionals for its fifth season, and it’s sure to generate excitement as the list includes some of the most well-known poker players in the world, as well as the top two finishers of the 2008 main event.World champions Phil Hellmuth and Doyle Brunson are both scheduled to come back to the show this year, while 2008 main-event winner Peter Eastgate and runner-up Ivan Demidov will make their debuts.Other players scheduled to appear are Patrik Antonius, Michael Baxter, David Benyamine, Nick Cassavetes, Tom Dwan, Eli Elezra, Antonio Esfandiari, Barry Greenstein, Phil Ivey, Phil Laak, Howard Lederer, Giorgio Medici, Dario Minieri, Daniel Negreanu, Ilari Sahamies, Bob Safai, and Sam Simon. The play will be filmed at the Golden Nugget casino Dec. 19-21.The show already created buzz when it announced that the new minimum buy-in for all shows would be $200,000, as opposed to the $100,000 players usually bought in for. By the end of last season though, players were buying for $500,000 per player.“High Stakes Poker, by a wide margin, has become a must-see on Game Show Network for poker players and poker fans all over the world,” said Henry Orenstein, an executive producer of the show.“I am very excited about the mix of players that we will bring together for this next season,” said Mori Eskandani, another executive producer. “Viewers are in for a thrill.”----------------The guys in bold I've never heard of. Assuming they're online guys or just rich as ****. I'm disappointed that Sammy Farha, Guy Laliberte, Jamie Gold, Gus Hansen, and Jennifer Harman aren't playing. Is this the first time Phil Ivey has played in it? I don't recall him playing before. Will be cool to see how Demidov and Eastgate play in a high stakes game compared to their tournament styles. Also excited to see Dario and Sam Simon. I could seriously live without Hellmuth in at least one poker show.

I don't know about any of you, but when I am watching, I want to see two things. 1. A high level of poker 2. Cool stories, specifically from Doyle, BG, Eli, etc. the guys who have been around for awhile. All the other stuff is just white noise getting in the way of that.

Interested to see Ziigmund play live poker...I've seen him be a complete ass in the chatbox before (Ex. He berated/made fun of Mark Vos for buying in short at a high stakes table on FT).

Out of the players mentioned I'd like to see the following lineup all at the same time, not just for a few hands. Not in any particular order:1. Phil Helmuth2. Phil Ivey3. Daniel4. Patrik Antonius5. David Benyamine6. Tom Dwan7. Dario Minieri8. Barry Greenstein9. Eli ElezraI don't really know all the pros, but for me this would a very good table to watch. Plus, I think Helmuth would go bonkers on this table.

The commentator on PAD (Ali Nejad? I think) tilts me so hard when he starts talking over top of someone like Doyle while he is telling a good story.
