Not Very Happy With Pokerstars Support Decision

Recommended Posts

I was playing 2-7 TD NL last night and hand went like this..25/.50I was BB, UTG raises to 1.50$, BN calls sb calls I call, after 1st draw UTG bets 4.50, BN calls, sb folds, I call.pots about 20$ at this point , I draw 1 , UTG 1, and BN 1 card also, at this point UTG has 14$ BN has 23$ I have them both covered.I bet enough to put them both all in, UTG folds, and before BN can act he says "87 lol' and " huge overbet call that chitt" now I have played with UTG several times, so he knows my game fairly well, BN was first time player ,never seen him/her before. so after the comments by UTG BN calls, draws 1 card and outdraws me.Now I cant prove that he wasnt gonna call my bet, but seeing what UTG said it may of influenced the call. so I e mailed stars with HH and their reply was.Yes it was against rules, but that alot of players dont know the rules .so I guess it's ok to break the rules in some cases, and pokerstars will let it slide? if this was a live game in a casino would UTG have to pay the pot ? I thought I read that somewhere, but I could be wrong. Here's the email from support, they're not gonna do anything but give him a warningHello xxx, Thank you for your reply. Many players are unaware of poker chat rules and as such PokerStars always makes a player aware that they have broken the card room rule. If the player was to repeat these actions then we would take the appropriate action as they have obviously not heeded our warning. If we can be of further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us. Regards, Jamie PokerStars Support TeamAnd also the player that made the comments is wax/wane on pokerstars.

I have never heard of UTG having to pay the pot in this scenario. I have heard of them being removed from the table for this, though. Online, I normally see a first time warning, a second time chat revocation.I agree totally that it sucks, but I don't think you were ever going to get the ruling you were looking for.Ray

ya I agree somewhat, the funny thing is, about 5-10 mins later on another table, we get all in and i'm pat, player drawing says, "is a 10 good " an obsever, a regular at 2-7 says "no" wtf??? its getting we have to play 1 hand against 2 players?these 'regs" should know better and need to get their chat revoked at the least.

Yea that sucks but nothing's gonna happen. Anytime it happens i would report it and maybe u can get there chat revoked for awhile or something. But their never going to have to pay for a pot. In a live casino they'd normally get a warning first then be removed the second time.

I haven't played on Stars in ages, but thought chat was disabled when a player was all in? Or is that just Tourneys?

if he calls because of the chat, and doesnt outdraw you, do we have this thread, i think not, and you would not email stars, youd be please.
No , sorry but you're wrong , I still woulda been upset either way,and I still would of e mailed stars , on my other table same thing happened 5-10 mins later and I won that pot, that player had no right to tell my opponent that a 10 was no good, and I also reported him. I have a hard time beating 1 player now I have to beat 2 players 1 hand?? the player in 2nd table was an observer and i've played him 100's of times, he knew I didnt pat worst than a 10.

Would you be as upset if the advice was wrong? This happens live as well, and nothing usually comes of it. Just one of those things you have to deal with.
Actually the advice was wrong, he didnt have my hand beat, but the results doesnt matter, its clearly against the rules I woulda been quite happy winning the pot right there and then.

That's pretty much what's gonna happen live too - at least at "intro" stakes.I had a funny situation along these lines. Some tard had caught runner runner flush against me and I was a bit tilted. So flop comes something like 2 spades and a Diamond, guy bets, tard raises and I type "Diamonds" in the chat box. Well a week or so later I get an e-mail from FTP support saying I'm not allowed to talk about a hand in progress and they'll ban my chat if I do it again. Guess they don't have a sense of humor.
