Life With........ Ted Forrest

Recommended Posts

Great book... read it in a day. It's a shame Steve you have not read it. But then again, you probably know most of the people involved and have heard the stories.Very nice of him.Can I tell my Ted Forrest story?
We were literally just talking about the fact that I haven't read the book. Ted said that everyone in Vegas was betting on Chip to win. I have no clue if this is in the book btw.Yes Theresa, please tell your story.

I remember last summer at the Series Steve. You texted me to come over, Ted was at the FT (forget the event ?)I get there and that place was actually pretty empty. You and Anna and Ted were just sitting there by yourselves really, Ted would run back and forth from the table to our group occasionally, whispering stuff, talking crap etc. Nice guy, if not a bit shy? His agent was there too, a real firecracker. Fun lady.Ted didn't win, but seemed to take it ok. We all walked out and that was that...cool night.

My Ted Story is not really interesting. It was in the middle of 2006 WSOP at the Rio. I went out to Vegas and met up with a bunch of FCPers (very very cool)Anyway, I was acting like a teeny bopper at a teen idol concert. I was just in awe of all of the pros and like a silly girl, I had an autograph book and was getting autographs from them.Anyway, I was in the hall going towards the big casino and walking away from the big convention area where the WSOP games were played. I am with Ben and he points out Ted Forrest to me.I get all giddy and dodge over to him, autograph book in hand. I said something stupid like... "Hi Mr. Forrest, can you please sign my autograph book? I am a huge fan of yours."He looks at me as if I am nuts then he hesitantly smiles. I am sure he is thinking why in the world would a fat 40 year old woman act as the fool? But he is kind and he obliges even though it is obvious he is trying to get back to the poker area. So that is my Ted Forrest story. He was really cool. If the roles were reversed I am sure I would have "No, I am not interested" just like I do to the people at the kiosk in the mall.

Ted and I have never talked about any training site or course except for mine. He said that he felt that for what I was teaching, it was a great value. We also talked about the idea of having a large seminar in LA where we could bring people out for a weekend to train. But it would have to be a lot of people to make it worth his while.
I have been to 2 WPT boot camps and found them to be informative and fun. A FCP boot camp would sell out...do it at the beginning of the WSOP.or... do one in Palm Springs and we can stay at BG's house.
I will answer various question in each thread, and then start new ones on different players.
? for Ted - Big name players seem to love pit games ( he plays craps - TJ too obv.) I have seen Barry G playing 2K a hand at the Bellagio. Do they play them because they think they have an edge ala Andy Bloch or just for recreation?

lolcrapsamentsSeriously though, I wish I had like 10% of the gamble that Ted Forrest supposedly has. I'd probably make a lot more money. My question:How the hell can one survive a death match???? I can barely stay awake for 45 hours without doing anything that would tire my body or mind.

Hated craps the first time I played. But, once you learn and ease into it... it is the best game ever. There is nothing like betting all of the hard ways and pushing your bets.
and then sevening out and thinking dammit I should have just said same bet.
