superchuck 0
the only time i ever listened to something at the poker table was a book on tape that i had to read for a humanities class.
deadlysyns 0
I listen to music when I play live tourneys. However they did not allow headphones at the final table at the Ultimate Poker Challenge. This policy goes for any other major tournaments where they bann head phones at the final table.
SLTS 0
I'm personally against it. I refuse to believe that anyone can give 110% attention to the table when they are listening to music. If you are jamming out to a song when you aren't in a specific hand you may miss something you would have liked to have known. Some do it, I'd rather not.
AceSpades11 0
If it's gonna calm you and make you more patient I say go for it. I have trouble adjusting to the almost 6-7 times less hands I get to see live. For this reason I sometimes play too impatient. I am going to give listening to music a shot to occupy me more then anything.
ChaoPlayaz 0
I listen to music whenever I play poker. If I play online, I listen to music, if I play live cash games, I listen to music, if I play a live trny, I listen to music When I listen to music while playing, it helps me concentrate so much better than if I was not listening to it. I always keep my headphones halfway off my ears though so that I can hear anything that's said at the table and don't miss anything
murphyz 0
Online I always have silence as I like to concentrate, but I can see why people do it live. WSOP-04 was the first I had actually watched and how busy the place is during the first few days is astounding - imagine all the noise surrounding you at a place like that...you would need something to take away the distraction. I believe many snooker players used to listen to headphones, but I think this was banned in case they listened to 'self help' tapes that were deemed to give you a psychological advantage over the opponent. As long as whoever I'm at the poker table with doesn't play the music so loud that it bothers others - then it's fine.Mxx
lostyourchips2me 0
Cds at the table and music is just ridiculous, people areto buisy listening to music they forgets its there turn to act. listen tothe music on your own time and quit wasting everbody elses.
Smasharoo 0
I always bring my ipod to play live. When I'm in a hand I take the headphones off.Considering 90 percent of the time you're not involved I don't really see it as a big inconvience to anyone else at the table. Now when I start singing "Roxanne" that's another matter entirely. qheuie 0
i started listening to music while playing online last week. listening to music is pretty mindless, it doesn't take much concentration to do it, it's just background noise. i do NOT browse the internet or watch TV though because that requires a percentage of my "CPU" (my head) that i need dedicated to playing poker. i have never tried using the headphones in live games. i am a pretty attentivie player, i know when it is my turn, i know when it is everyone elses turn so i am not worried that i will cause any issues at the table.q
FromTheRail 0
I've become a big fan of listening to my ipod while I play. However, both the Borgata and the Tropicana in Atlantic City have rules banning electronics so players are not allowed to listen durning play.
