Big Day For Colorado Poker

Recommended Posts

I've played at Ameristar, Lady Luck (Central Station), The Lodge, and Golden Gates in the last two weeks, and each room has a schedule of games to be played.
TYVM Jeepster - If you, GWC, Eddie etc are gonna be up there on Thursday or Friday let me know. You and I can continue our argument about colorado poker up there, lol! :club: I'd enjoy meeting some CO FCP'ers, PM me. This definitely makes poker here better, but I'm still mad there's not a true 1/3 or 2/5 NL game. I'm pretty sure I'll find a game I like, tho.

Sweet so I could basically blow my entire Stars roll on one hand now! woot! Have fun there guys, wish I could make it this weekend, it would be a blast. I'm kinda bummed in one aspect, I killed the 1-2 limit game every time I went to the Gilpin, lol.

Oh, there will still be a $2-$5 spread limit game. The donkeys will still be there.

If we go, we'll either be playing craps at Lady Luck (Station) or Ameristar. I don't play cards at the Lodge since I don't have a team to play with.Seriously, I don't understand how anyone can play more than once at the lodge. I would argue that the games are bad more often than not. I think the lodge is one of the worst rooms up The Hill. I like the games at Ameristar, the Station, and the Gates. Here's a thread on 2p2 discussing Colorado Poker. If I remember, I'll get the schedule of games being spread from Ameristar, Gates, and the Station.Every room we went to and asked, said they'd spread any game at any limit if there is interest. Awesome!

Cool, have fun! I might play over at CSC too if I get bored or the games aren't stellar at the lodge. I'll be posting how it goes. I should be meeting some other friends up there too, should be fun!

Twstd doesn't do well at anything above $1/$2. In fact, he pays everyone off.Case in point: http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...2&hl=fcpwnt

Four games last night at Lady Luck, formerly Colorado Central Station.2/5 and 4/8 with a half kill, and 2 tables of 2-100 spread limit.Played craps for an hour or so, won $135 or so with a $5 min bet.It was a zoo. Lots of fun though.I was feeling pretty lazy and didn't visit any other casinos. The 2-100 game had a max buyin of $300.

Awesome. I am going to head over there then if the Lodge's max buyin is higher. I am super stoked!

And, if I remember correctly, the 2-100 game at Ameristar has a $500 max buyin. It's either there or the Gates.

I just got home from Blackhawk.Got up there a little late, around 9pm, met some friends.Started out at Lady Luck (Central Station), they had nine full tables of poker, three of them a tourney. They were spreading 1-2-100 spread limit, 4/8 1/2 kill, 10-20 no kill and there is a full 20-40 list for 11am friday. They said they would spread any limit of any game as long as there is interest. the 1-2 and 4-8 games have a max buyin of $300. The 5-100 omaha game has a max buyin of $500.Next, Ameristar. They had all 14 or 16 tables going at 10:30pm, completely full except for two or three tables. They were spreading a few tables of 1-2-100, some 4-8 1/2 kill, 1-2-20 spread limit, and the old 2-5 spread limit. Ameristar's cash games DO NOT have a max buyin. They'll also spread any game at any time of any size if there is enough interest. After that I went to the Lodge. Also 2/3 full closer to midnight. They were spreading 1-2-100 (300 max buyin), 2-5-100 (300 max), 10-20 no kill and 20-40 no kill. I don't think the biggest game played very long. The golden gates was last. Six or seven tables at 2am. They had a few tables of 1-2-100 and 4-8 limit no kill, both with $300 max buyin. The omaha game has a max buyin of $500.I started out watching a buddy play craps. I've never played and know nothing about the game, but he knows a bit. I stood with him for fifteen minutes or so and he bought in for $100 and was up to $140 or so, so I decided to buy in short, $60. The person rolling was across the table. By the time it was my turn to roll, the table was pretty hot, I was up over a hundred bucks. I ended up rolling for nearly an hour and got ten passes before crapping out. I hope I got the jargon right. I cashed out up over six hundred bucks. Totally awesome time. I figured I would either spend $100 in ten minutes and never play craps again, or do what happened and start another vice for myself.Left Blackhawk around 5am, just as it was getting light outside. Pokerwise, down a couple of bets, nothing worth mentioning other than the games were holy shit juicy. Absolutely no traffic. I was eastbound on I-70 a mile above the 470 interchange, and a fucking deer decided to run across the road, and play chicken with my explorer. I wasn't speeding or drinking or anything, but I hit it square in the middle of the front bumper. I pulled over, a cop was pretty close behind. Luckily for me he pulled the chunks of carcass out of my bumper. That is one of the worst smells I've experienced. Just horrible. Decided the radiator wasn't broken and the airbags didn't deploy, so I decided I could drive home, I didn't have any problems getting home after that, the car ran mostly fine. I'll file a claim and take it in today or tomorrow, once I get some sleep. These details could be wrong, the floor at each room made sure to tell me that max buyin amounts could change, but it seems there will always be 1-2-100, 2-5-100, and at least 4-8 limit going at all times across town. Should be a gold mine.Cliff notes: -played craps for the first time, won lots.-went to 4 different rooms to see the action.-left a winner at 5am, no traffic.-a deer tried to play chicken with my explorer on the highway, I won.

Nice! I'm heading up either tonight or tomorrow.Crazy about the deer, I had a similar experience with an elk last month, but I out-ninja'd his ass and he lived to run across another highway.

I made the trek up the mountain yesterday to Blackhawk as well.Played some $1-2 - 100 spread limit holdem at the Lodge, they had multiple tables going for this game as well as a $2-5 -100 game. Also they were spreading an Omaha H/L $5 -$10 game and many other limit holdem games with the biggets one being $20-$40 while I was there during the afternoon. Over all lots of action with many players being new to playing anything other the limit holdem in a cash gemae setting. Game was pretty juicey with some bad players playing, I played for about 3 hours while my friends were playing the tournament at the Gilpin and left almost $300 ahead. This game had a buyin from $100 -$300, with many players buying in for the minimum.Went across to the Ameristar, and this is a really nice place. Ate some food in the deli which was actually very good and then walked around the place, the Ameristar is by far the nicest place in Blackhawk and I will probably bring the wife up there in the future and spend the weekend. By the time i got to the poker room around 7pm it was jam packed and the wait lists were pretty long. They were spreading the same $1-2 - 100 and $2-5-100 game as the lodge but only with less tables for each. The majority of the tables were still playing limit holdem, but I did not see any big games being spread. After about 30 minutes of not seeing my name move up on the list i decided to head over to the Golden Gates casino. At the Golden Gates, they were spreading mutiple games of $1-2-100 and $2-5-100 holdem and I was able to sit immediately. Within about 5 minutes I heard them call someone for the $2-5-100 Omaha game and I asked the floor if it was a H/L split, to my surpise it was. I got on the list for that game and could not believe they were actually playing Omaha H/L in a non limit format, although they also had a $4-8 game going for those limit players. Finding an Omaha game with $100 max bets even in vegas is almost impossible as they usually only spread a Omaha Pot Limit High only game. So within about 15 minutes I get my seat and find out this is the biggest game in the room. I asked what the buyin cap was and they told me it was uncapped, I think they made a mistake and eventually will cap the buyin but I bought in for $500 after seeing all the money on the table. The game was action packed with plenty of people chasing half the pot at a $100 a bet. There was plenty of $500+ pots during my 3 hours playing there. I did manage to scoop one very large pot of $850 against this old guy who was a calling station. Earlier in the evening he chased me down in back to back hands calling down $100 bets, dude had me tilted to the point where I told him that I would be in everyone of his pots for the rest of the evening. Anyways, if you like Omaha H/L and want lots of action then this is the game to play. Hopefully they will have enough interest to have this game go on a regular basis.Overall a profitable trip, with the new $100 bet creating a totally different atmosphere and enviorment to play poker in. I will be checking out Cripple Creek in a few weeks, but will more then likely be making the trip up to Blackhawk at least 2 times a week moving forward.
