We have this in AZ, $150 cap on bets. Its pretty lame, but better than nothing. Enjoy!Mark

Yea, each township has to vote on the changes. There was a 2+2 thread about amendment 50 and what changes/games will be spread. My prediction is the LHE games will go max 50/100 at the Lodge until they settle down to a 15/30kill and 20/40kill. The other rooms will be at 2/4, 3/6, 4/8 LHE and a 1/2 spread limit. Some people thought having craps would hurt the poker tables but I think it's actually good. Blackhawk is only 5 hrs from my door instead of the 6.5 hrs to Albuquerque. If the limits are good it would save me time and it's a much much much safer drive.

I don't think so. There was language to add roulette, craps, or both, the hours, and the increase in bet size. But I think the laws still state it has to be a limit game.

Hey it could be worse. In Maryland we just voted to allow slots - but in at most 5 locations and the prop explicitly stated that no other gambling expansion would be allowed without another prop vote. And AFAIK even no-rake home poker is illegal here.

Montrose, and I've been driving to Albuquerque 2-3 times a month since July. There's a 15/30 25/50 half kill LHE game that is sooooo good. The drive isn't safe or reliable in the winter since Red Mountain pass kills people every year. The games at BH will be amazing for quite awhile after they change the limit since those players aren't used to the turn and river bets. It'll be a goldmine.

I might head up the hill to Black Hawk today and see if I can find out some more info about when the local voting will be etc. I am hoping for a regular 10-20 game. Would much rather play structured games than the spread limit. I will post again if I find any new info.

Looks like July 1, 2009 before anything will happen.On a side note, heard that the bad beat jackpot at The Lodge Casino in Black Hawk was at a whopping $630,000 just recently! That is unbelievable.

Does anyone know if this will be a $100 cap per hand or per street?!? My initial reaction is that it'll play like a 1/2 NL game where you can only lose $100 per hand. $100 per street would be pretty insane. If nobody knows for sure I will try and find out (and post the answer here)

The Lodge at BH will dominate the higher limit games and the LHE will be off the charts sweet for awhile. They're going to spread whatever someone wants. I was going to go there for a few days around the 4th but got enough days off work to make a run to Vegas instead. The 1/2-100 spread limit means each bet can be 2-100. Basically, you can bet up to 100 when the action's on you. You will be able to make multiple raises of 100 on every street if action permits it. Right now they allow 5 raises before the betting is capped in multiway pots. I don't expect this to change.

I was planning on hitting the lodge thursday night/friday all day to play in some of these higher games.And how much would you have to sit with at one time for the games like the bolded part? That's gonna be crazy imo.

I don't think that would be allowed by the state. If you only want to 'risk' 100 on any given hand, you'll have to buy in for 100 and if you double up, go to a different room. rinse/repeat. The LHE games will be sooooo much better though. Some rooms may try a 1/2-20 game or some variant of spread limit. I have no idea what kind of max buyins they'll be allowing for these games. I think the spread limit will very much like NL. That's only speculation. I'm sure the Arizona people could weigh in on how the game is likely to play. People in CO have been itching to play higher for so long, I think the games are going to be ripe for the picking. After a few months, I'm sure it will settle down and the games will get slightly tougher.

I've played at Ameristar, Lady Luck (Central Station), The Lodge, and Golden Gates in the last two weeks, and each room has a schedule of games to be played.Each room has different limits, buyins, and games. Fade, to answer your question, on the highest limit games, the bet is capped at $100, with three bets each street, not five.There will be full kill and 1/2 kill games, depending on interest. Most of the games will have caps on the buyin of $200-$300, which I've heard some people complain that they still won't be able to protect their hand. Both Ameristar and Lady Luck said they're biggest games will have a capped buyin of $500. I'm confident the Lodge will have higher buyins.I think the most common limits will be $2-$25, $2-$50, and $2-$100. This would be the same game as now with a single $2 blind, but the second number is the cap on the bet. These games will have 5 bets per street.They'll also have higher limits like 5-10, 8-16 and 10-20, all with kill options.I haven't heard anything specific about omaha. All of the rooms I went to basically said they'll spread any game at any limit as long as there is interest. I would bet that the biggest games will continue to be at the Lodge. Get your team recruited now!Also, the primary bad beat jackpot at Ameristar is at 250,000, which is the highest jackpot in blackhawk or central city at the moment.
