brvheart 1,756
Come one, brvheart, you're better than that. I know it's sleepy time, I know you're bitter about the results... but come on, man.. you can bring it stronger and funnier than that, don't resort to cheap, throw away one liners... * shakes my head in disapproval*It is sleepy time, but I'm not bitter. I've met Obama and I like him, but it's just something that I really don't understand. It's as if democrats don't even understand what they are saying, imo. I've never understood it actually.they don't let idiot african americans be president of the harvard law review, imo.I said nothing about african americans not being smart. Also, politically people can have agendas that trump their intelligence.
SlapStick 0
Its great for America. A guy that in his middle twenties gave up the easy choice of making millions in the corporate world and went working for peanuts to help the poor managed to become the President of the United States aswell as being half black. Thats the America we foreigners knew and loved. What do you expect when we live off your movies and tv shows.

BigDMcGee 3,353
Looks like Franken/Coleman is gonna go to a recount, with coleman having like a 1000 vote lead with 99 percent reporting. What a finish.
FCP Bob 1,321
Congratulations to Alaska for electing a convicted felon!I would imagine a lot of the Republicans who voted for him are hoping that he'll resign or be impeached and then Palin can appoint somebody to the seat and thus keep a Democrat out of the Senate. If this is the case it makes a lot of sense to hold your nose and vote for him if you don't want the seat to go Democratic. If I'm wrong on how it works please correct me. akoff 0
A lot may disagree, but I've always viewed Obama as a centrist in many ways. I have always tended toward Democrats, but the reason that I became excited about Obama was because I perceived him to be a very rational and thoughtful man. I believe, and now it is up to him to prove to me one way or another, that he will use his wisdom and reason to make the best decisions for America, and not for some abstract concept of liberalism.I hope you are correct, I believe you are wrong. Loismustdie 0
I am Canadian. This is what is known as a 'great place to start'.Obama's speech in Grant park was amazing. The USA is in great hands. This is a guy I think can deliver on every single promise he made in this campain. Then we are ****ed, and even some of those who voted for him on this board based it on the idea that he couldn't and more importantly wouldn't do some of the shit he has espoused. What, you think that because he won the presidency somehow you're less retarded for supporting him along the way? He didn't win on his own merits,he won simply because the world wanted "change", and the Republican party has lost it's way.Already the MSM is taking steps to distance themselves from the guy this is by no means a win as much as it is a wake up call for the Republican party. He won because of peoples ignorance on the issues, and the idea that it didn't matter who the Republican put up there it was going to be hard to pull this off this time around. If anyone should be pissed it should be Hillary, this was her time, and Barack stole that shit right out from underneath her. Admittedly I don't like the outcome, of course I don't, he is the most leftist president elect ever, but I am not bitter, I look at it as an opportunity to regroup and rebuild conservatism that way it should be, not this weak bullshit we keep running up there. It's time to reclaim the party.

Loismustdie 0
No dumbass, I enjoy Obama being in power after all you're ridiculous posts of pure blind bias bullshit. Its great! So, basically, you're victory is "Nanner nanner nanner?" I see. You know, you have a point, I must be the one with no grasp on issues as they affect our country, pardon me. I bow to your wisdom. This will be the absolute hardest part of this whole thing, this started this weekend, various id's I know that wouldn't know the issues it came on there face, started this whole thing of,"So what if you are right? He's going to win anyway, nothing you can do, ha-ha." That infuriates me, not because of the act but because of the stupidity behind it. So many people willingly just threw whatever sense they had out the window and voted for change, with no definition that made any economic, fiscal, or strategic sense. That would be like getting plastic surgery from a landscaper and saying,"Change me." "But I am not a plastic surgeon." "Look, man, you talked a good game about trimming that bush, and right now any change is better than what's happening." You're right, though, I am the biased ridiculous one, you nailed it. Loismustdie 0
This sums up the Obama voting block perfectly I wouldn't say that, but it's a decent size portion. Some of the guys on here are incredibly intelligent, then again, some incredibly intelligent people love socialist ideas, so it makes sense that could happen. I don't agree with it but whatever. I guess we are going to have to experience it first hand, and at that point I will feel no joy in saying "I told you so" because the damage will have been done.

It's a small win but it's still a win. My advice to the gays? Get married anyway. You don't need state recognition to validate yourself. No one can take away who you are and the life you live, not here anyway. Unless Muslims take over, then you die. No worries, though, Obama is here to make it all better. Elthair 0
GG Obama...Most countries in the world are already annoucing that they whant to tighten or restore relationship with USA. This is a great positive step for the peace in the world.Anyway, he has been fairly choosen by the people of America as the new president. If his politic is bad, you will change back in 4 years. If his politic is good, well...And if his politic is putting USA into a living nightmare, somebody already said on this forum that you were keeping weapons ready to bring back liberty and freedom against a dictatorial gouverment. Let's cross fingers that the democratic way will prevail.

Nimue1995 1
PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA!WHOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOO!This is unlike any election day I've ever seen in my lifetime. People packing Times Square just to watch CNN on the video display, a million people expected in Grant Park in Chicago and even here in my small town, a sense of hope and excitement and involvement I've truly never seen before. And in other "news"... I'm back, babies!Nothing kept me away, really, just a lot of reading, editing my book, watching debates and news obsessively, and, oh yeah, playing my very first ever game of poker! I'll post a little story about that in GenPo soon. I've been learning it and watching it for a while and finally decided I needed to put my money down on the table. Glad to see you back hun. Was worried about ya and missed ya. Reverend Wright wanted it, now he's got it. God has damned America.Let the 2012 Presidential campaign begin. As the move to the left inevitably crashes and burns the economy, we can look forward to a proper Republican candidate in 2012 or perhaps even 2016. One who espouses proper laissez-faire capitalism and removal of an oppressive government from our daily lives. But until then: A societal cancer has metastasized this evening. We can only watch in horror as the train leaves the tracks and careens and cascades down the mountainside, rewarding the lazy and the mediocre at the expense of those with talent and drive. Who will now, by necessity, waste valuable time focusing their energies on protecting what is rightfully theirs through creative legal and economic means. I'm already devising my own personal strategies. To all the Republicans who allowed rampant statism and big government at the expense of abandoned and forgotten philosophical principles: The chickens are home, roosting all over the place and defecating in every nook and cranny of the homestead. You tried to imitate the Democrats, but the REAL collectivists are now here and they have the power and you DO NOT. Such is the fate of those who forget their mandate and neglect the principles that makes them genuinely different than the opposition. The "me-too" Democratic Republicans are TRASHED, and I for one will enjoy the writhing corpse over the next few days. Trust Neretva to be the ying to BG's yang as far as class is concerned. You've earned your membership in the Annoying Troll Club. This is completely true. I don't think a resurrected Ronald Reagan could have won this election. I think McCain made some mistakes along the way, but really the reasons he lost were far beyond his control, he should keep his head up. I've always liked McCain, and and the Senate republicans will need his leadership now, more than ever. I am happy to see Palin's departure from National Politics, however. If Ted Stevens wins and resigns then don't count on Palin departing from the national scene. Chances are she'll appoint herself to be Senator from Alaska. Now.......can we go back to talking poker and golf in this section? Poker - yes, golf - NO NO NO NO NO!OH MY! On the very latest update Franken has pulled within three hundred votes, with 88% reporting. So we will have our hanging chad drama this election hmmm? So, basically, you're victory is "Nanner nanner nanner?" I see. You know, you have a point, I must be the one with no grasp on issues as they affect our country, pardon me. I bow to your wisdom. You're right, though, I am the biased ridiculous one, you nailed it.LMD, I can hope and pray you're wrong. Can you do that also? Regardless of who won, our country will be in for some tough times ahead. Our state had Obama ahead by something like 55% to 44% when I went to bed last night but they hadn't gotten the returns from Gallitin County and Billings yet. This morning it was like 50% to 49% McCain. So the big B still determines who wins in our state. I really dislike that one area of the whole state can negate the rest of it. But that's the way it goes.
