rawkodd 0
i just find it absolutely hilarious each time i hear of someone laying down second or third nuts in a precarious position and a dozen ppl coming in talking about how easy a laydown it is... ppl do bluff in this game... and they usually bluff ppl that can laydown hands... shut me up... someone feed me a legit HH that they laid down quads...ever. Kevin ships like 10k total, Scott tanks, finally calls, and Bax *snap* mucks 44 face up.What is Scott calling with. Jeez
TheL0st1ne 0
What is Scott calling with. JeezQFT. Scott could easily have the 7. And no, that would not be slowrolling. It would be stupid for him to snap-call phil hellmuth style in this spot. If Bax wasnt in, then yeah, you snap call.
Jam-Fly 8
Below calling out Bax's quads>>>>Bax folding them.yesWhat would actually be sicker would be if Bax called with the 44 and was right. Like, if he put Saul on a bluff (Saul knows Bax knows Saul knows Bax has quads, so if Saul raises, Bax has to think Saul has quad 7s), and that Scott knows all of this and is calling with AA, and then Bax calls with 44 and is right. This is the only way to justify a call. RDog 0
Interesting call with just a 7 to the raise reraise on that flop though.??? Who did this? Below raised the flop and was called.I guess it's possible Montgomery had the quads here but I would be surprised if this wasn't Saul quad 7s and Montgomery AA.For sure one has quads though. wakiki 0
It's not even that it was that big of pot, or for that much money.. it's that he was convinced he was outflopped by seed on a JJ6 board, refused to ever bet, and refused to pay off a small river bet. And it's not like he thought about it, he insta mucked on the river. It's almost suspicious the way it goes down, like the cards are marked. He had so very little information from the bets.. it was like a 100 percent physical tell read.Oh my God. I've never seen anything in poker quite like that.Daniel said that Chan will look at your hands, your throat, etc. Perhaps Huck Seed had a big neck pulse going. In this case, Chan knows that he's beat, because one jack beats him and Huck wouldn't have the adrenaline rush with only one six. That's the only explanation I can come up with. That video truly blew my mind. He doesn't even make a big deal about it either, just plays so well. What a cool guy.I'm still reeling a little. Christ. Any other videos like this that you guys can link me too?

Any other videos like this that you guys can link me too?He says in the directors cut, that it was something about the way Seed checked the first time, and if you watch him, he does seem a little eager, and kind of does a "after you" sort of check.. but really, to be so convinced that you are right that you check every street, then insta muck.. it's really insane. I watched it. Perhaps Chan was able to tell by the way Huck looked at him. Looking in his direction was a bad idea I suppose.I watched the video like 10 times in a row, mesmerized. This seriously makes me want to either turn pro or quit poker forever. Lol.
Jam-Fly 8
Yeah, that Chan hand is just simply sick. Not just to have the read that Huck has you beat, but to have such confidence in your read you can fold just like that (and not making a massive deal about it like Hellmuth would do)
silkyjonson 1
the weird thing is I've seen chan fall in love with hands that it was pretty clear he was beat and paying off much more, just seems like it does'nt fit the pattern of his play must have had some stone cold tell on him. He had so very little information from the bets.. it was like a 100 percent physical tell read.its gotta be a physical thing. hes just staring calmly at huck seed the whole time. his demeanor during the hand amazes me. i don't hear people talk about how great johnny chan is that often, but after watching that video that guy is dangerous at a poker table. its like he doesn't give a shit what happens, he just watches the cards and acts completely out of logic with no emotion involved in the hand what so ever. i wish i could find that in me. antistuff 0
i bet noone in this thread and only a few ppl on this entire board would laydown quads I bet you are dead wrong.i think hes right, or at least close to it. while on paper it looks like an easy fold, very few people would be able to let go of that. when somebody flops quads they get excited and feel emotionally attached to the hand, they see the flop and say to themselves something like "wow i am going to win a big pot here." then, when their hand gets beat, they are unable to detach themselves from it. stubbornness, feelings of "its not fair", or the worst "well, its a cooler so if he has it he has it" prevail over logic. i would speculate though that when that 7 falls on the river most people would know they are beat but being unable to fold would check and call. i once heard about a hand with doyle brunson. it was lhe and he had aces and raised with two callers. the flop came something like a28. the betting got capped. the turn was a 2. he folded on the turn, i dont remember how the action went but it might have been something as little as just a bet and a raise. the river came an 8 and the guy with 22 lost a lot of money. who knows if its true or not.
