If by "good video" you mean yet another irritating, patronising video that assumes that people will do anything a celebrity tells them to, then yes, it's good. Don't get me wrong, it's a good message and more people should be voting, I just hate it when celebrities get preachy like this. It makes me cringe to see them doing their serious, thought provoking message spiel.

But if they don't do anything, they get criticised for that, as well. At least they're making an effort.I spelled criticised so you'd feel at home.

Do they get criticised for that? I've never noticed anyone complaining that Celebrity X doesn't impose their political views on the public enough. Thanks, I appreciate the solidarity. English (U.K.) forever!

I think they receive criticism if they're apathetic. They're not overtly supporting either party (although they certainly lean left), mainly just trying to get the younger generation to vote. Not everyone is as politically aware/active as you and your boy-toy.

There's nothing wrong with being apathetic, I certainly am. It's a problem for the political system, definitely, but apathy is the effect, not the cause of the problem. It is dumb how young people don't vote enough, but if all it takes is a video with Jessica Alba in it to get them to do it, then I question their choice. What it comes down to for me is what's better: a high turnout but with a high number of uninformed voters, or a low/medium turnout with more informed voters? Neither satisfactorily represents the true opinions of the people, but I think the latter is at least more stable.

I don't know about that "not overtly supporting a party" thing. "do you support gay rights? do you think everybody who's sick should be taken care of?" that's, uh, pretty overt which party thats supporting.to me, these things always come off as "hey! I'm such and such famous (democrat) celebrity and I want you to go out and vote (democrat)! it doesn't matter what party (democrat), just as long as you're informed on the issues (social liberalism) that matter and really want to see change (get rid of those evil asshole republicans for good!) that really helps! so whatever your political views are (fuck all republicans), get out there and vote (as long as it's democrat).

I did not watch it, but this is pretty much word for word the response I was going to give regardless.

Have I ever mentioned my theory about celebrity politics? I've been convinced since '04 that celebrities are all republicans, and trying to use reverse-psychology, like that episode of South Park where they convinced the KKK to support the flag-changing so everyone else would oppose it. Think about it: does Brangelina really seem like the "Liberal" type? They lead globe-trotting lives of obscene excess, owning multiple sprawling compounds each worth tens of millions of dollars, while bloated AIDS Babies die of starvation all over the world. Specifically the shitty parts. How could anyone see the way they live, listen to the shit they talk, and then do anything but the opposite just to **** them? It's obviously some kind of trick.

There were a lot of people on that video that I would ****. A couple of headliners- Sarah Silverman and that stubbly guy from Maroon 5. He is hawt.

I love how they act like A) You're vote actually matters and B) Voting means that you are morally superior and care about the future more than those who don't vote.

I kind of think both of those things are true. You know there are things called local elections too. As far as voters being 'morally superior,' we could get into an argument over semantics, but yeah, pretty much so. Actually, just omit the word 'morally.'
