We were never given any empirical evidence in class and this was not a research paper. im surprised somebody read that LOL. Without reading too much into it, I would argue that it is moving, roaming, etc and the general stress relief. I would argue that a stair master/treadmill/weight bench/prostitute would have the same effect. Furthermore, being in a prison, even when outside, is certainly not nature in its natural sense, whcih is what I talked about. IE: Walking under the skyscrapers of Manhattan is still outside, and may give more pleasure than walking under the redwoods of Cali.
If that were the case, Manhattan wouldn't need Central Park. :club:

Wowowow, CC, you're gonna have a huge stable!Anyway, I'm re-applying and re-itirating my previous points with some additions.Starting off with why I'm in here asking to be staked / added to your stable. Previously I was a live player who was planning on making the transition from live £1-£2 NLHE up to £5-£10 Dealers in to the online cash game domain. At this time howeer, I was finishing school, and once finished, I decided to travel the world and gain some "life experience" - aka having fun for 6 months. I looked through getting a loan etc, but decided to bust my roll and travel the world with it and not play much poker. Since then I was working for an international insurance company, who due to having £250M invested with Leahman Bros. had to cut back on temp jobs and my 1 year contract was terminated. TYVM economic crisis. On the poker side, I'm a cash game player, who generally only plays larger MTTs if I have sattyd in and believe I'm strong enough to go deep. As I said earlier, I am primarily a cash game player who played low / mid-stakes live, and of the little volume I played online I hopped between .50-1 and 1-2 NLHE. I was a moderate winning player online and live. Online however I felt I lacked experience in short (100BB) stack situations, but with a group of solid players to review / talk over that I can trust, I know I could make this staking arrangement worthwhile financially and mentally for us both. Also, I would obv increase my use of the strat forums here.As far as sites I play on, I'm currently only a Stars player, but am willing to open with FT / Cake or TexasHoldem, to add the rakeback requirement. As far as stats etc go, obviously as a live player, I can't have HHs and stats, but I currently am downloading the trial version of PT and am investing in the full version after the weekend and trial. As said in the previous topic, when I steam live I'm able to just walk up and get out and have a drink. Online I found that playing a micro stakes MTT or SNG suffices when I have found a weak table. Can I just add, you're a friggin' sicko. 11K in stakes in the space of a week? MBN :club: Anyway, I'll leave you to your simple decision of saying no again. :ts :bubble_duh:Edited to fix to 11K.Double edited to add: E-Mail addy is in my info and just got AIM, Jambizzle27 incase you do choose me.

i think personally that some type of balance is healthy, but my argument was that perhaps some people do not need any balance whatsoever. who are we to say what gives others pleasure?

I will apply again. My online stats arent very good but that is because I have only played a small volume and low buy in donkfests. But my home game stats for which I keep a spreadsheet are pretty good. Up $400 over 140 games at $10 buy in. My live and online cash games are where Ive made the most money. $300 online at 10 and 25nl before cashing out and about $1000 in 1/2 live in 5 trips.I play home games pretty much every day and when I talk about hands and odds and ways to play hands my friends get mad. They dont want to learn and grow as players. So that is why I come to the forums so I can grow and learn from very skilled players. I dont have funds at the moment since I am in between jobs and looking for a full time job at the moment. It would be great if I had the honor of recieving this stake as it would allow me to play at the levels where I think Im most skilled. If I were to get this stake I would never play out of my bankroll, I would keep a perfect blog and update it every day. I would try and play 3 to 4 hours a day, more if I can. This stake would really help me out and start a good bankroll online. I would never chase losses by moving up stakes and always abide by the agreed upon contract. I would listen to anything you said and end the stake whenever you felt was right.I guess that is all I can say. GL to whomever you choose I hope they make you and them a lot of money. Thnx in advance for even considering me.

se7enth_bok (crawfordsville)i am very interested if you want to stake me, i am willing to play whatever games and limits you want, I just dont think i have gotten that break yet that every player looks for, and maybe this wold help with that if you choose me. if you decide to go in a different direction that is fine too, this is a very generous thing you are doing here at FCP

First off YOU ARE GOD.....I was very disappointed when you I didn't get a stake the first time because I thought it would have been a blessing for me to be able to play for you and learn from you. Then you mentioned you would be giving out stakes at some other point this month and a ray of hope shined down on me. I actually had a poker dream that I was on the computer and a PM came up saying "HI YOU HAVE a 1K" in your account right now and I sat down to start grinding the staked and my first 3 hands were AA and I won all 3 lol. But anyway like I said before this would probably be the best thing for me being able to develop my poker skills by being mentored and to actually have enough money to play proper bankroll management and not have to deal with all those micro stakes maniacs and be able to actually outsmart by opponents in other ways then playing ABC poker. So in conclusion, this stake would be amazing and make my life considering that I can't really save up alot of money for poker cause of financial issues helping out my parents or you can not choose me again and I will cry for days lol jk Great thing your doing cardcore and I really hope that you choose me so I may help you make a great investment and that all your horsies also do the same. Also I will always be able to be reached if you ever need to talk to me about poker or my BR. also I mentioned it on the other thread that I have read several books and am still gonna read a few more so I should be fairly easy to teach as I grasp many of the complex concepts and really feel that I am a winning player and I am and easy goin guy and almost never go on TILT. P.S. --- YOU ARE THE MANP.S.S. ----- Yes I did actually dream about you and even though it wasn't a wet dream it was a great dream that can hopefully turn into a reality.Again reason why I think I can help us both make a profit is because I am really open to learning and letting you mold my mind in your ways of pokah, am committed to always getting better and will have plenty of time to play .Teach me Jedi Master.

I think its a fairly objective matter what gives people pleasure in general. There will be exceptions to any rule, but for example, pretty much everyone finds sugar and cocaine to be pleasurable because of the way the nervous system is wired up. However, I think my thread derailment has been entirely unsuccessful.

I would like to apply. I used to keep a fair amount of money online and make frequent cashouts but due to recent life stuff I am forced to keep a much smaller roll. I play mostly plo/nlhe for cash games and have decent winrates at both. I play using a Mac so no Tracking software, but would be more than happy to switch over to PC in order to use that software. I would be able to put in at-least 4 hours a day 5 days a week, so I think that would cover the 15,000 hands and then some. I would be interested in seeing the contract and what kind of reciprocating benefits that you as a staker, and me as one of your horses, can utilize.I play on Pokerstars for 99.99% of my internet play and here's what my stats look like:Sharkscope: Username Games Played Av. Profit Av. Stake Av. ROI Total ProfitHub Dub 04 800 $6 $21 47% $5,069 PokerStars OPR: http://officialpokerrankings.com/pokerstar...0919BF.html?t=2I have been playing low to mid limits all year (with a few bigger tourneys depending how my roll is etc) and wouldn't mind a staking opportunity if the agreement is decent. After 4 years of a somewhat painful learning process from playing online and playing live, I have finally started earning money playing on the internet and I would love to have someone who can critique my play throughout the staking process and allow me to become a more sound player fundamentally as well as mentally. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.Jon

Verily, sir, provided you can elucidate eruditly upon your elaborate elocutionary exposition.
Trying again. I am a winner live 1/2 and 2/5. PM me for more information about that.Been playing AP and PS and feel I have played well, but lost somewheres a little more than 10 full buyins in the last week and a half to 8 oversets on the flop and top boat counterfeited on the river twice, all in on the turn (AAATT < AAAJJ with J on river and 99988 on the turn counterfeited by 999AA with A on the river). Teach me to run better online. Honestly, I think this would be an interesting experience. Of course I will blog it, give back to the FCP community whatever I can, track it, play within BR, accept coaching, be available for rail, whatever, etc.

I was very lucky to be chosen the first go around and this has been an awesome opportunity for me...and it has only been 3 days. I've played between 1600-1800 hands so far (I think) and it is great to have a sufficient number of buy ins to play with. It definitely relaxes you because you are not like "omg i have 3 buy ins to play with, i hope i dont get sucked out on!"I will hopefully start my blog tonight or tomorrow and talk about things. I'm playing on texasholdem.com at 25 nl, mixing in 6 max and hu. I am down a little less than 2 buy ins I think but I've learned a lot so far just by putting in some volume and I haven't even began to scratch the surface of playing yet. Also, being able to play on a regular basis is so much fun for me.Good luck to those applying!!EDIT: I think mtdesmoines would be a great person to pick. He is all over the strat forums like it's his job.

Seth, you rock, great that you're continuing to give people such a good opportunityWell since the last time we talked I'm on a very good upswing and I'm just about ready to take my own shot at 25NL after running good the last few days :)I'm not sure whether you want me to repeat basically what I wrote in the last thread, as I feel that a lot of it is no longer relevant, even over just a few short days from last time. I feel I've really turned a corner with my game in terms of cutting down on leaks like getting married to hands and I'm much more confident all around and playing my A game a larger percentage of the time.Anyway, here's my October graph (yeah big sample size)october1-3.pngGl with your stakes

edit: I'm going to give out SIX more 1k stakes. Hooray! If there are SIX players that I think will be worth it to stake, I have no problem forkin' over another few bucks. Same basic stipulations as the other thread, and if I choose you I'll send you a contract that you can read over that is completely standard. Please declare your candidacy for this round of stakes in this thread, and I will get in touch with you over PM or AIM today.
I officially declare my candidacy for this round. I've got a positive ROI, and would empty my account and play exclusively via your terms until you decided to stop or move up levels.

Wow, so cool of you to do this Seth!I would like to be considered again. I am a decent tourney donk who has gotten better over the time I've been playing. My recent results in 4.40 180's is pretty good, close to 80% ROI since I started playing a lot in Aug. I play some cash games from time to time, I prefer to play limit but would play whatever you want. I also feel like I could write an entertaining blog (see my blog on TH). BTW, why can't I update my blog anymore? Good luck to whomever you pick.
