TheRegime 0
My sleep pattern is screwed. I go to sleep at 7am and wake up at 5pm. I am going to try and fix it by staying up til like 9 or 10pm tonight. It is 630am at the moment and Ive been up since 5pm yesterday.Anyways to pass the time I was gonna watch movies and stuff but then thought some poker may be fun. I was gonna play a crap load of play money sngs just for the hell of it. Maybe some freerolls.Anyways my question is, anyone have good ways to keep me awake and pass the time? Good site and time for freerolls that I could screw around in?Thnx in advance for some ideas.
SGFULTON83 0
UltimateBet has good freerolls if you are looking to just goof off. Thats what I do when I can't really focus on poker like when the kids are up and running around.

profxavier9 0
just go to sleep dude. to all you guys with those crazy hours. Your killing yourself trust me. humans arent meant to be up all night and sleep all day.
TheRegime 0
Im still up and going strong. I agree that you should get 8 hours at least of sleep a day. But they dont have to be at night. It doesnt matter how your sleep schedule is as long as you get about 8 hours per 24. The only reason we sleep at night cuz daylight lets us see and do things much easier. It isnt cuz we need to sleep at night, sleeping at night just fits the schedule.Anyways Im still up and just finished watching Eagle Eye on my computer. It was pretty damn good I must say. I am thinking about watching the Number 23, Man From Earth and maybe Eternal Sunshine. Those were the movies reccomended to me by people on other forums.
CrookedLink 0
This is basically my schedule but I'm happy with it.I wake up at 3:00 PM, work from 4PM-12AM come home and play poker, xbox 360, watch tv til 7AM and do it all again.

profxavier9 0
That is wrong.yes it is. anyone can stay up for 30 hours and not be tired as long as they are stimulated by something. Don't think your special or tough . i used to be like this too for years. changing my scedual to something more "normal" was probably the best thing that happend to me in poker and life. Obvisouly there are going to be days here and there you cant stick to your schedual.
Sick Boy 0
I've had serious sleeping problems since I was very young mostly because of the family I lived with. There was always lots of partying/screaming/drinking/fighting going on between my mom and my dad so I only slept like 4 or 5 hours a night til I was about 15. But lately things have changed and I live in a quieter situation. However the wierdest thing is now I have sleeping problems because I just find sleeping so boring. It's like a chore that I want to be over as soon as possible. All you're doing is lying there...its hard to explain.Me and sleep just dont mix very well. I guess Im gonna need to get proffesional help eventually. What long term side effects are there btw?

So if you sleep during the day and play poker at night that is fine, as long as that is your routine. but to go 30 hours with no sleep is far from Normal.Physical health and safety—“Because lack of sleep impairs your judgment and coordination and slows reaction time, driving drowsy is as dangerous as driving drunk,” Strobel says. Drowsiness also causes injuries at work. And research shows that long-term, lack of sleep can lead to high blood pressure, heart disease and other ills. “Sleep deprivation affects the immune system,” says Jo Beth Newhard, sleep technologist at the Sleep Disorders Center. “People who skimp on sleep are more prone to infection.” Mental sharpness—“You know you can’t think clearly when you’re tired,” Newhard says. New research confirms that good sleep does more than sharpen thinking; it actually promotes creative problem-solving and helps consolidate memories.Emotional well-being—“Sleep definitely affects your mood,” Strobel says. “For example, chronic-ally tired people have trouble with relationships because they’re always irritable.” Lack of sleep also can cause symptoms of depression. “Many teen-agers being treated for depression actually suffer from sleep deprivation,” Strobel says.there are plenty of sleep clinic's out there but for Regime he wants to reverse his sleep pattern back to his normal hours. Try to stay up as long as you can but don't fight it too long, drink a little coffee, pop do some exercise. Play some tournaments then go to bed a few hours early, it won't hurt that bad. Humans aren't supposed to live in Antartica, and from what i know its only scientists down there.i understood what he was saying. I kind of went of on a different tangent a little, about staying up for long hours.Humans are Diurnal creatures (opposite of nocturnal) When you take a human and make them nocturnal it throws thing out of balance. Not that you are going to drop over and die in 5 years or anything. But you just wont be working at full throttle if that makes any sense.

sandwedge 30
<---- Just woke up. I work graveyard shift and really like it. As I'm driving home in the morning, I'm laughing at all those suckers who are just waking up and driving to work. The only drawback is on my off-days. If I want to go out to "dinner", the only place open at 4am is the Waffle House.

antistuff 0
im happier living like this. every time i've tried to do something where i had to wake up in the morning i turned into a miserable mess. there have been a few times where i had a schedule that i needed to get up like 4 or 5 days a week and be up all day. after a few months of it i always get depressed.
