Recommended Posts

Well, this is an interesting development.Gamesgrid is now the first site to allow 200 BB buyins for NL games. The 10 dollar table is now 20 max, and the 25 dollar table is now 50 maxThey've added a .25/.5 and .5/1 full NL games as well.

bummer, this might mean the fish that are playing the 1/2 NL will disappear.I never seen a 1/2 NL game that gave as much money away as that one. The limit games there are tight as hell, but the NL games are like printing your own money.I will have to pull up exact stats but I believe Im up about 75 an hour at 1/2...but only after about 15 hours.

nice! this is really great for skillful players. deeper stacks means more room to manuever, less skill, and more emphasis on post-flop play. whenever i play heads-up, i always prefer 200xbb starting stacks, and all my tournament structures start with 200xbb's or more.aseem

Do they still have that insane bonus offer? I was waiting to see how the site did, and it sounds as if it is getting better..with more traffic. Is this right?

They still have the 10x deposit bonusTraffic is definitely increasing, I wish I had the roll to play some 2/4 limit there. Maybe if I build up a lot at PP I'll play it and clear that ridiculous bonus ;)I think they closed VFP though

I think they closed VFP though
Hi all, My name's Asia & I work over with the software vendor for GamesGrid Poker. Just wanted to say that the VFP program is still open, rewarding frequent players with 1.5 x big blinds per hour of play, capped at $12/hour. Of course, the 1,000% first deposit bonus (10x up to $5,000 bonus) is still in place as well. Hope that helps :club: I'm happy to read the positive responses about GamesGrid Poker, and want you to know we're happy to be listening in to the chatter and suggestions from our players (I'm sure everyone at GG will be happy to read your thread when I forward it to them, too.) Thanks again, hope to see you on the grid sometime, Asia K GamesGrid

The only suggestion i have, Advertise more!! put some banners on sites like 2+2 and here...the only complaint i have of the site is the traffic, if it picks up a little i think ive found my permanent home :-)

Asia, does your rakeback stack with the VFP program?
they're different things...the VFP program they'll pay you 1.5 small blinds per hour as long as you play over 10 hrs a week. The rakeback they have going on is if someone does a refer a friend, they get 25% of your total rake (minus bonuses) and they'll usually split it with you like an affilliate on any other site. (If you want to sign up, use my name and i'll split the rakeback with ya)

Just to correct that jj(for the benefit of interested people), it's 1.5 big blinds per table hour.

When traffic picks up in the evening, how is the level of play? Is it fairly soft (a la, Party), or is it tighter (more like Stars or FT)? Also, other than HE, are there consistently decent games at lower limits (2-4 and below) for games such as 7-stud or O8B?Anyone who plays the site regularly who has some info on this would be great. I'm extremely interested in some of the bonus items, but don't want to spend countless hours clearing a bonus in a HE-only rock garden.Thanks.Shane

Hiya,This is definitely in the works :club:
Asia, does your rakeback stack with the VFP program?
I wanted to clarify your question-- if you meant does the VFP payment stack on top of the 1,000% deposit bonus-- yes, they're not exclusive and can be earned at the same time. I (asia) have no rakeback program, but I hear jjdylan does :D Thanks again all! aK

Its really hit or miss...some days its really tight, others its loose (never as loose as party however). I think the key to winning on this site right now is that you play the same players alot of the time, so you have to pay attention to how they play and take advantage of their tendancies. The most popular game on the site is 3/6...Theres usually between 1 and 3 1/2 games going on at all times (this is what i usually play) and teres always a handfull of 2/4 games as well. There really isnt much action for 7stud or omaha on the site, but on occasion theres a 7-2 tripledraw game goin on or some razz. Really all the bonus opportunites make up for the lack of traffic at this point (and i think thats the idea). Like i said before, if you wanna try the site out, use me as your refferal, and theres one more 'bonus' opportunity in it for ya 8)

Playing .5/1 NL, how easy is it to clear the bonus?
it shouldnt be TOO bad, but it'll definitley be slower than on sites like party. But they've changed their NL games recently...theyve added more variety of stakes, and have 200BB buy ins for NL tables. But in my short experience at their NL tables, they're much looser than the limit games.

Yeah, that's the case on almost every site. NL is the game that the fish want to play most. :)I may deposit soon on GamesGrid then. I'd like to get up to $1000 in bankroll before I go over there. We'll see how it goes.

you should have more than 1k to play .5/1NLHE, plus the fact that gamesgrids NL cash games are 200xBB buyins. you'll be well short of the proper bankroll to play it

I know what the proper bankroll method is. And while you may be right that I'll need more to play the game at GG, at a normal .5/1 NL game 10 buy-ins is more than enough for me. If I have trouble, I move down. Yes, I'm aware of the variance, but I'm willing to take a chance with "only" 10 max buy-ins.Should I be doubling my standards for a proper bankroll with their new buy-ins?

Well I have to say this is slowly becoming one of my favorite sites. It has a lot of things I dont like, but the bottom line is if you like making money this is the site. You can read the last entry in my blog (link in signature) which tells about my entire first day on gamesgrid, but basically with their $5000 bonus and VFP its giving you money. You can be a break even poker player or even a slight losing poker player and still make good money here.Just simply needs more action. I was stuck playing 2 $1/$2 and 1 $3/$6 limit games this morning because that was all that was full being spread.I really wish they would add a 'waiting list' for the tables. Right now if the table is full you kinda have to watch for a seat to open up and beat everyone else to it. Hopefully pokermountain will start doing some things like this too.
