donk4life 34
yeah because shoving after your opponent bets 20 is a good play.
SGFULTON83 0
yeah because shoving after your opponent bets 20 is a good play.Definately not a good play, if you just re-raise the flop to about pot-size he will call or fold or move all-in. If he calls and the str8 card hits you can slow down. If he moves all-in then of course you call and hope to avoid the suckout. But shoving there is definately not the best play even though you do have the best of it.

Sick Boy 0
I actually disagree with the above critim. Usually i would agree with you but against this specific player I had to change my game a little bit. He was a standard donkey calling station and actually I put him on top pair because he'd done that 3 or 4 times already, bet 20 with top pair. I knew that if i shoved he would call and I'd be way ahead. I was even happier when i realised he didnt even have a fcking pair but an open ender! hehe, that is until the turn came. But anyway the reason I played the hand like that is because of the player I was up against. Knew i'd be ahead, knew he would call. Under normal circumstances against your average player, I would agree with the critism but not in this situation.

Why would you risk your entire stack against a calling station like that, particularly on a dangerous draw-heavy board?Yes, you're ahead, but surely if he's a calling station, the thing to do is raise lower amounts and grind his chips down over a longer time period.Calling stations will catch at some point - if you're not pushing your entire stack every time you think you're way ahead, they can't take you out when they catch; but as you'll be ahead most of the time you raise, the odds over the long-run will be so heavily in your favour, you'll take their chips without ever risking a suck-out that takes you out. How do you know he had top pair every time he led like that?? Did you really call him down everytime??? Seems unlikely to me.And its already been pointed out but yeah, lol @ being happy that he has the OESD compared to a pair.
