Level 2 finished, Mark and I had our pictures taken with Gus, and then we took some of Gus, Barry and Amanda.Gus is just hanging on but states " I haven't given up the fight yet". super nice to talk with. and Mark drove 9 and half hours to get here so Toronto only 1 and half hours drive sissy's. And he did mention you Matt

No great surprise Teddy and Matt as the same for the rest who said they were coming and backed out. At least Mark(raise ha) drove from WI, which shows someone has class, we met a few others and are going to have fun without you all. and have great pictures to show
You implying that the rest of us have no class isn't going to make us want to come next time!

Quads seemed to be the running theme of the day as they were hit no less than three times. Noah Schwartz caught quad tens on the turn and got his opponent to commit all his chips with queens full. Steven Van Zadeloff was all in with a set of fives against a set of aces when he hit his one outer on the river. Both tables erupted when the hands were revealed - no wonder considering the odds of catching quads is 1 in 407 or 0.245%. With such slim odds, you can go a whole tournament without hearing of anyone hitting a hand that big, much less three times in one day in a short field.Matching the excitement of the action on the felt today were the famous faces graced the tournament floor today including Barry Greenstien, Hevad Khan, Lee Markholt , "Miami" John Cernuto, Robert Mizrachi, Amnon Fillipi and Vanessa Rousso. They were joined by 163 players, adding to the tournament total of 288. However, tomorrow’s Day 1c is expected to have the biggest draw, both in pure numbers and star power. Canada’s favorite poker playing native son, Daniel Negreanu, made an appearance on the rail today, preparing for his tournament start day tomorrow. He is expected to be joined by an influx of big name players making the long trip from the west coast to Eastern Canada.Tomorrow’s action in scheduled to get under way at 12pm ET. At that time we will find out which players will be filling out the tournament field and exactly how much the winner of the 2008 North American Poker Challenge will take home. Make sure to return to worldpokertour.com for up to the minute chip counts, live action and video updates.

Listen. Look at the base of people you are trying to set up a trip with. Most of us are undecided what we are going to do tonight, let alone a trip down the road. Many people express their enthusiasm in going only to later realize that, one way or another, they won't be able to make the trip. Whether it be no chance to get off school, job, or a prior commitment with their friends/family in real life. Or whether they are too lazy and don't want to spend the time/money to do it. You have no right to indirectly call them "classless".

Pretty much this...I have no idea how old you are, but you are dealing here with mostly twentysomething guys here, not exactly the age group that is going to make plans to travel for the weekend for a meetup with a bunch of internet friends. You seem enamored with the pros, and thats great, but most people got over this a long time ago and aren't going to make a long drive to stare at Gavin Smith for 4 straight hours and talk with someone they have never met before. You are taking it way to personally/seriously and pretty much have from the start, to be honest. Just chill out and have a good time.

Who's Mark?
Raise Ha from negOas for me playing poker, I could not get near the poker roomsthe pro's and the who want to be pro's were hogging the tables on top of thatthey were running too many qualifiers butI didn't check today, I was too tired.yesterday the lowest stake to be found was 5/10 and the wait list was forever, so it sucked cause we never got to play poker, but I won $1400 at the slots.

WPT North American Poker Championship, Day 1c RecapBy BJ NemethAs the weekend comes to a close, the three starting days of the WPT North American Poker Championship are in the books. There were 166 players that started on Sunday (Day 1c), pushing the total field size to 454. That comes in 50 players short of last year's total, but is still larger than expected. Daniel Negreanu, the winningest poker player in Canadian history, took his seat today to take a shot at a major title on Canadian soil. While Negreanu survived the day, he faces a difficult road as he advances to Day 2 with a below-average chip stack. A few of the other big-name players weren't even that fortunate, as Negreanu's friends Erick Lindgren (WSOP Player of the Year) and John Juanda (WSOP Europe Main Event winner) both failed to advance. Carlos Mortensen, the only player in history to win both the WSOP Main Event and the WPT World Championship, also busted out on Day 1c. While the tournament field is set at 454, the official prizepool has yet to be announced, but it is estimated to be worth around $4.4 million. First place should be worth more than $1 million, and the final six players will be featured on the WPT's televised final table on Thursday, October 16th. Here are the top 10 chipleaders from Day 1c: 1. Darus Suharto - 188,0002. Stephen Chidwick - 165,7003. Kenan Zhang - 155,8004. Steve Paul-Ambrose - 136,9005. Dashmir Zyli - 136,9006. Erik Cajelais - 109,8007. K.C. Yuen - 104,3008. Vivek Rajkumar - 99,6009. Gueorgui Tchaouchki - 89,50010. Mike "Timex" McDonald - 86,900Suharto is one of the WSOP's "November Nine," scheduled to resume playing the final table of the WSOP Main Event in less than a month. His 188,000 will put him in second place (behind Day 1b's Jamie Rosen) as the combined field heads to Day 2. Rajkumar, fresh from his victory in the WPT Borgata Poker Open a few weeks ago, is poised to make a deep run here as well. Day 2 begins tomorrow (Monday) at 12:00 noon ET, and play will continue for seven levels (with a dinner break) or until the field reaches 99 players, whichever comes first. Return to WorldPokerTour.com for live coverage, including chip counts, photos, and video interviews with Amanda Leatherman.

Glad you're having a good time and definately sorry i couldn't make it. It is a long weekend and i've been doing family stuff, on top of the fact that i have the worst cold ever. So between cooking dinner (my turkey was awesome btw) and trying to rest so i don't have to miss any work (i never miss work) i would never have been able to make it. Can't wait to see pics tho

Im sorry alot of folk that planned on coming were not able to make it. Things happen and we just have to accept them. I do however wish I was able to come, work and living in Calif prevented me from making this weekend trip. Id have loved to have met Daniel Negranu! Sounds like you all had a great time either way!I was thinking.. what if we all planned a trip to Wrigley Field and watched a Cub game next year? We could have a tailgate party! Let me know what you think! Cali

If it makes you feel any better the last Chicago FCP golf outing didn't come together either.
You're just lazy.
