Interesting Idea On Me

Recommended Posts

I was just thinking of this, what if the Main Event at the WSOP had an optional rebuy for 2 hours into play, this way the prize pool will be bigger, and those who suffer a tough bad beat (who also have deep pockets) could have the option of 1 rebuy. Just a thought, wondering if it would be a good or bad addition to the ME? Comments?

They did this in the 10K PLO, but you could rebuy or add on 10k in chips at any time.

We should also change the tournament so that the table blinds slowly rise higher and higher forcing the action and putting pressure on the shorter stacks to eventually take a stand. Oh..and we could give some sort of special prize at the end of the tournament besides the money. Sorta like a trophy of sorts. Like a bracelet.....a gold.....bracelet. hmmmmmmmmmDiscuss...

I don't really like the idea. Generally the only ppl that could afford to rebuy are the professionals who are already have an edge. It would put the players that didn't pony up the full 10k, and who won their seat in a satellite at an even more disadvantage. What happens if they would have done this in 2003? People would have played their cards differently, and there's a chance Moneymaker may not have won the ME, which would have changed the poker lanscape as we know it today.

Except it's not 2003 anymore, and it's not being implemented in 2003. I'm not saying that I like the idea, but kind of an irrelevant example.

well it wasnt actualy a rebuy, you just had the choice of taking all your chips at one or at 2 different times, it wasnt a rebuy as no money was ever added after everyone registered

How about this. You know how you get 20K chips for a 10K buy-in right? Well what if they offer multiple buy-in levels? Like if you want to spend 50K you get 100K chips. If you spend 100K you get 250K chips (a little bonus for the big spenders). Discuss.
