TeeSludge 0
My goals for August were:For August I am repeating the same goal: I'm not making any real goals this month as far as poker goes. Just gonna try to keep putting in as many hands as possible and enjoying what I'm doing. For life goals, I need to lose some weight for weight loss bets I have going and I have to make sure everything is ready for the baby. It is crazy to think that I might be a father before August is over. I enjoyed what I was doing for the most part, hot start to the month and about a 2 week breakeven stretch to finish it out. This is the fewest hands I've played in a long time but I was very busy with getting things ready for the baby and coaching my wonderful HU students. I lost about 10 lbs which is pretty awesome and I should win all my weight loss bets. This graph doesn't include my PLO which I won about $700 at HU PLO and about $350 at 6max PLO in about 1k hands. It does however include the 1k I lost in 20 hands at 10/20 against a mega fish. Goals for September: Again, I'm not making any real goals this month as far as poker goes. Just gonna try to keep putting in as many hands as possible and enjoying what I'm doing.Recruit a few new students once the baby comes. Continue to exercise daily and last but not least enjoy the new responsibilities of fatherhood!

regionx8 0
Been reading the forum for a while now.. never really posted or made any goals but i'm trying to become serious about poker. Deposited 200 in pokerstars and currently sitting on about 275. Goals for August: 10k Hands @ $5 NL (Going to move up to $10NL at the end of the month)+$75Keep playing tight aggressive poker and stop stacking off w/ tptk or 2 pairCurrently im running about 18/12/1.5 @full ring, but im wondering how much aggression factor matters at .01/.02 i can't seem to be too aggressive without throwing away money. So far goals are looking good. I got in about 2700 hands this weekend and am up about $35Can't seem to get img to work but here is a link if anyone is interested www.t7studios.net/augustgraph.jpg10K hands @$5NL: Jumped to 10nl 6max instead of full ring.. Had a big downswing.. once i adjusted i had a big upswing.. then last 2 days i had another 3buyin downswing (got rivered a lot and payed them off)+$75: Would have made it if not for the last 2 daysKeep playing tight aggressive poker and stop stacking off with tptk or 2 pair: Still working on this one.. a lot of the hands i lost like this were on the river.. so most of the money went in when i was aheadI think i am fully adjusted for 6max 10nl.. my non showdown winnings are going up however showdown winnings are going down.. i've been getting rivered a lot.. mostly to huge donkeys that call me with bottom pair or oesd for pot sized bets on the flop and turn.. then hit it on the river. Goals for September:Get in at least 15k hands.. last month i stopped playing for about 2 weeks due to life problems and thought it would be -ev to play poker so this should be no problem+$150 (5ptbb/100 @ 15000hands)Start to really analyze what peoples bets/calls mean especially on the river and continue to improve my game and improve my w$sd stat.. ran at 47 for the monthThats really it.. just improve my game and keep building BR for when im ready to move up to 25nl

Acid_Knight 2
Last month I set goals to play about 18k hands and make $10k dollars. I played like 7k hands online and made $4500 and then made another $2100 playing live yesterday at the Bellagio. I look at both of these as successes since I really didn't play any poker for like the last 20 days of the month.I made a blog post containing some goals.1. Play 25k hands2. Win $10-$15k dollars3. Up by 8:00 am every day4. Ride my bike 2 hours each morning before playing5. Spend at least 1 hour Monday-Friday reading a poker book or watching poker videos
king1305 0
August Goals:25k-30k hands, I don't really know how August is gonna go with internship and move in + working freshman orientation. No profit goal, just hope to build on this month.Hopefully retain Gold status.Played like 31K hands.Almost all of the hands are exclusively before Aug 20th.Had a great month as you can see. It faded at the end, but still very happy with it.I also moved to 50nl full time, but didn't get many hands in there, only a little more then 10K.Wasn't able to retain Gold and only made Silver since I barely played after the 20th. Kinda disappointed in that but, oh well. Life.September Goals:Try to play as much as possible while keeping my grades up and doing all of my school work. if I can get in 25K hands I will be so thrilled. Realistically, maybe 15k-18k is the goal, which is sad with how much I was grinding over the summer.Win monies.Work on getting a new desktop to make the grind easier.Have fun and enjoy my senior year. SCS 0
Goals for September are - Not play real well the first half and then spew it all away the second half. Move up to $100NL by the end of the month Move up from gold to iron on FTP iron man Have a few (2-3 at least) sessions with my new coach

Deftones150 0
Working 50+ hours leaves little time for play but I have some goals I think I can stick to:1. Put in 5k hands at 10NL2. Merby 3
Goals for August:Volume:1) *SERIOUSLY* re-evaluate my PLO game (it needs an overhaul)2) Put in at least 10k hands at 2/4 NLHE3) Play some regular tourneysStats:1) NLHE: Aim for 18/16 and cut out the obvious flaws in my game2) PLO: Totally revamp my post-flop game. Preflop stats around 29/17 should suffice.3) Try to maintain a good finish-rate and ITM% in tournaments. Improve the MTT Avg. finish % to a lot more late finishes.Money:1) Honestly, I would be happy with a +$2k month; I don't want to encounter any (self-induced) backwards slide after this great month. These were unrealistic goals (Using my tournament wins in July to jump straight to 2/4 PLO and 2/4 NlHE). In the first session or two, I dropped ~$1,000 in 2/4 NLHE and ~$1,000 in 2/4 PLO. These losses, together with some strong warnings from Cwik and Snamuh, encouraged me to revise these goals:Before I get in over my head, I think I will go back to my pre-July plan of taking a run at HU NLHE. Thanks to my new bankroll, I can skip the 25c/50c level where apparently the rake is a killer and go straight to 50c/$1. I will also drop back to 50c/$1 PLO (a mere 1 level step up from my previous stakes). These goals were much more realistic and probably saved most of my bankroll... Once again, THANK-YOU Cwik and Snamuh! You guys said the right thing at the right time to make me wake up and realize how arrogant and idiotic it was for me to think I could skip so many cash game levels and still expect to be profitable.August resultsOnline cash games:2/4 NLHE cash online: ....... -$1,3022/4 PLO cash online: ......... -$1,056<2/4 NLHE cash online: ..... +$979Total online cash ............... -$1,379 Online Tournaments: ....... +$1,256Live cash games: ............. +$571Total: ................................ +$448I did not meet my financial goal, but that is a valuable lesson for originally setting myself unrealistic goals. If it weren't for the brief foray over my head into the midstakes, I would have easily made that goal. I also had the goal of joining a training site (CR, DC, PXF, PVT). I did *not* do this, but did one better: I got a HU coach and started my run at HU NLHE. Thanks to my coach, Tremomey, I am already running at ~22 ptBB/100 over a miniscule sample size (2000 hands). I am *really* confident about my HU game and expect to continue pulling in a good winrate (I should point out that I was actually running below expectation over this sample!) Even if the 22 ptBB/100 drops off, I am fine with that (10 ptBB/100 would still be super!)(I'm sorry Tre if this causes you to get a ton of PMs, I just am too excited to keep it to myself...)September Goals:I am going to be unable to play poker for nearly half the month. I will be out of town for 5 days at the beginning of the month and have non-poker guests for a week at the end of the month. For this reason, I won't be able to put in a full month of poker.1) Put in 10,000 hands at HU NL($1)--> Make a concerted effort to follow all the advice I have learned from Tre--> Continue reviewing every single session with an in-depth analysis--> I'm not going to post a winrate target, but if I do the above two things, the results will speak for themselves2) Play as many mid-stakes Stars tourneys as possible--> Keep a positive ROI on the month--> Make another final table (or two, or three, or...)--> Maintain (at least) 8 stars on OPR. It would be great if I could keep the 9 star rating, as I think the ROI and final table goals would then take care of themselves.3) Profit $100,000.Goal #3 is probably unattainable... But it's always nice to have at least one goal that feels unattainable when the goals are first conceived (unattainable for now, anyway... ) It also gives me a nice post to bump when I achieve this goal... Or it gives you guys a nice post to bump when I am busto...
Mr. Sparco 2
August was a great month for me, even though the last three days were not that nice:August results:Single table $6.5/$11 SNGs: ... 231 tourneys ... Result: I almost quadrupled my bankroll. Weeeee! August goals: Get bankroll up to $1000 (more a several-month goal).Big succes. Play 250 single-table SNGs, either $6.50 turbos on Stars or $11 ones on Tilt.Almost made the volume goal, but my ROI in these should be higher. For diversion, play a few razz tournaments, make at least two final tables and have a +EV.Since things were going well, I didn't really need the diversion. Played a single HORSE tournament and cashed, though I bubbled the FT. Start with PokerVT.Basically failed: I did subscribe, but did not put any time in it yet.September goals: Play 250 1-table SNGs Have an ROI of >10% at 1-table SNGs Get bankroll up to $2000 Make it to the last 27 of at least 2 big-field MTTs Discuss hands more, either in the strategy forums or by sweating people / having people sweat me Really start with PokerVT

jmbreslin 0
Some modest goals for myself:1) Continue my evolution as a STT player and kiss goodby to my super-nitty ways once and for all2) Move back to the $3.40 STTs and start pwning with my new protean poker approach3) Coin the phrase "protean poker" (just accomplished)4) Play a few more of those $2.20, 2k MTTs to work on my MTT play and see if I can go deeper than ever before (90th)5) Watch my bankroll climb once again
whatgreatis 0
I just downloaded PT2 because I'm done trying to get HEM to work. Why can't PT3 just work with Absolute?I'm not getting in as many hours as I'd like to at work because of small orders, so I may only be able to deposit 600 instead of 750. I still feel like I can grind 25nl comfortably on that.
sennin 0
Good month so far, crushing 45man sngs(sample size is still small tho), and my FT account finally got reactivated so once I get rid of this cold I have Ill start playing cash on there along with sngs on stars. Mattnxtc 0
I had some pretty generic August goals. I had my best month of marathon training yet. I got to $170 instead of $200, but I only played when I felt good and didnt at all if I was drinking. Playing within my limits. September Goals: Make $50 before rakeback. Br to $250 totalAt least 30mpw running for marathon training. No drinking while playing
