Basically DN you are calling millions of people racists, with no basis for this what-so-ever. They may or may not be racist.Also, making the assumption that Hilary and Obama are the same on the issues (they are not but I will give you that for this argument), do you think a possible factor that the reason they were voting for Hilary in the first place was because they did not think Obama could lead this country? That he is not experienced enough? That he is all talk and no substance? This has nothing to do on his positions.Look at it from the other side, I do not expect Huckabee supporters to blindly follow John McCain, they did not see eye to eye on a lot of issues. Some of those votes may got the way of Bob Barr on the Libertarian side.

Race is part of it but there is so much more….but if you want to only blame it on race I guess you can. Just a few examples below. Muslim name (sorry doesn’t play well right now) He has very little experience (there is no argument for that, it just doesn’t exist) He has the most liberal voting record in the congress (at least that is what I read and I am way to lazy to look it up) He has managed nothing in his life (the main reason I prefer a governor, hell even slick Willie had run a state) He hates his own country (or at least embarrassed by it) His wife was able to announce during the campaign that for the first time she was proud of her country. I personally was very happy for her. Here is a minorioty female that came from nothing, was able to go to school, become a lawyer, marry well and turn themselves into millionaires and run for the oval office....but this is the first time she has been proud of her country....perhaps she go talk to a few ladies in the middle east and see how she has done. (God I hate people that have this feeling of entitilement, guees that is why i tend to disagree with Democrats) He has no guts (whoops personal opinion tossed in there) Is from Chicago home to some of the most corrupt local politics in the land. (little plug here for the boys in Philly i.e. Abscam and the local unions)But of course the only thing to do would be to toss out that race card. (Another thing I hate about Democrats)

My grandmother is a conservative who supported Hillary [basically] because she was a woman, and is now for McCain. She ain't racist. :PI think that the main factor behind Hillary supporters not supporting Obama is simply bitterness. They want McCain to win, screw up, and Hillary to come save the day in 2012 so they can be vindicated. Bill/Hillary have been accused of secretely feeling this way as well. I mean, let's face it: being racist toward black people is just embarrassing these days. Racism toward hispanics is so much more hip!

Does anyone else think they are grooming Chelsea for the job next? (I mean, obviously not next as in very next, but in the future). The Clintons haven't made one appearance without mentioning her -- wth does she have to do with anything? Chelsea exposure has been over the top.

Knowing how desperate and power hungry they are, the conspiracy side of me contends that they will do everything possible to covertly see him fail.It's all about them...always has been.If Obama fails, the main reason he will fail is because he chose NOT to go with Hillary Clinton as his VP. She has far more experience and supporters than Biden. And the only reason Obama did not select her was because he would rather go down, losing this on himself, than win by having her on his ticket. Having said that, I think he is still the best candidate and what this country could use to finally turn things around.

do you all really think personal reasons were the only motivation for not picking Hillary? or that her nomination as VP would have significantly bumped obama's numbers?dont get me wrong, im sure it was partially motivated by not having the clinton machine hovering over his shoulder for 4/8 years were he to get elected, but most people seem to be forgetting that there is still a LOT of anti-clinton sentiment out there. i mean hell, bush won the 2000 election over a guy who had just been number 2 in one of the most productive economic presidencies of all time, arguably because of the lingering sentiments about Bill.while i dont want to discount the ego issues of both candidates, i think a good amount of the thought process that went into picking someone less volatile (Biden) was that if there were any dem/black/woman-haters staying at home for this election out of sheer apathy, an Obama-Clinton ticket would have certainly gotten them to the booths.

It was certainly more than just personal, though that has to be a big part of it. The party cannot be unified by joining the clintons and anti-clintonites, the only way to do that is to diminish her role. I seriously doubt that she would be given any high profile role in an BHO administration for that reason.

Hillary and Obama were as close as you could get on virtually every issue. The only logical reason why anyone would go from Hillary to McCain has nothing at all to do with policy, and everything to do with... racism. Yeah, I said it. So what. It is without question the most likely reason bar none.
