77 Early In Midnight Madness On Ftp

Recommended Posts

New to the forums and my first post in strat. This hand just happened in the Midnight Madness tourney on FTP.Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.00 BB (8 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comCO ($2840.00)Hero (Button) ($1540.00)SB ($2915.00)BB ($3405.00)UTG ($1485.00)UTG+1 ($1560.00)MP1 ($1230.00)MP2 ($1680.00)Preflop: Hero is Button with 7 :D 7 :5c2 folds, MP1 raises to $120.00, 3 folds, Hero calls $120.00, 2 foldsFlop: ($300.00) 10 :4h 7 :ts 6 :club:(1 players)MP1 checks, Hero checksTurn: ($300.00) A :D(1 players)MP1 checks, Hero bets $150.00, MP1 calls $150.00River: ($600.00) 5 :D(1 players)MP1 bets $360.00, Hero calls or shoves???What really throws me here is the turn when he just check/calls. I figured him on AK/AQ when he checks the flop so I decide to check behind and hope he hangs himself or catches something. I just figured he would c-bet with an overpair. Turn is great for me if my read is correct because now he just hit top pair. However, when he check/calls now I start thinking maybe he was slowplaying JJ-AA on the flop and either just hit a higher set or checked himself into a bad card. Maybe he did hit Ax and just wants to keep the pot small. Then he leads the river and i get even more confused.Do i just call here fearing AA or TT, or do I shove hoping he calls with AK/AT, or a lower set?Again, this is really early so no reads.edit-maybe i messed up the converter cause it doesnt list the blinds. They were 20/40 if it matters

bet the flop, shove the river
Agree with bet the flop but disagree with shove the river. This guy is either a complete donk or a very tricky playing a monster - shoving is too expensive to find out the latter. Hero likely gives up value here to find out the donk is a donk but the hand played out like a tricky-dicky who came in with TT or 8-9 and is giving his only opponent a chance to catch up a bit to extract max value for his huge hand. The river is a brick so his leading out on the river indicates a made hand either on the flop or turn but the ck-call on the turn remains suspicious so I'm guessing he was made on the flop. Hate to miss out on value from a donk but if that river bet was a bluff he's not calling anyway and if he does have an Ace - shoulda ck-raised the turn - he'd have to have a pretty good one to call a whole shove (with just TP) and that ain't likely imo. This is a hand where I think if I'm ahead and raise/shove he's going to fold but if he calls I'm likley behind so I'll just call this one and kick myself in the ass if I'm wrong.

I would definitely shove the river. Isn't he representing the ace? Maybe you'll get called by an A-K or A-Q that floated the turn, or an A-10. I really don't see the villain showing up with TT, AA or 89
Messed up. Thought the ace came on the river. Same advice stands. I'd shove the river
