In coming back to liverpool? He picked a good season to jump ship/. He joined real so he could play in Europe, when he could have stayed home. Owen's stay in Real reminds me alot of Steve McManaman's, I hope Owen can jump Real's ship faster. this is very funny BigD and Ju And Da, Liverpool will be playing TNS. ROTFLMAO, they have to go to wrexham to play a european tie. THe european champs have to qualify in each and every roundon another note. Props to Dean Ashton. He is a great young striker that could easiley move to another prem club, but he instead chooses to stay with Norwich and bring them back up. It takes a special player to stay in a situation like that, and he will be much better for it

yeah, that's why there were two english teams, an italian team, and a dutch team in teh championsleague semis. And an english team won it. How many times have spain won the WC, none, england have at least won one, and should've won in 90, and really should've done better in 82.

and brazil has won five (6 maybe?) and there league still blows.. your point is??Im not saying English club soccer sux, Spanish is just obviously better...if you dont know that, its either because you havent seen many of their games do to the limited coverage of the Spanish league (I believe only GOL TV shows it) or because you dont like watching sports in another language...I'm Mexican, I have no reason to defend Spanish league, but it is the best in the world, the games are the most exciting, and the top players' dreams are to go to Spain not England, no contest..BTW, I havent been able to keep up to date on European soccer this past year because I moved to a place w/ no god damn cable...

I watch argentine football all of the time on fox sports espanol, and libertatores cup. Sapinsih football is good, but look at their record in european play over the last couple of years, outside of madrid and valencia none of the clubs have really done all that well. BTW, brazil's league is probably the best in this hemisphere

NOw chelsea has all of the cash and is in one of the best areas of London to live. Madrid and Barca are the only clubs in Spain to have won teh European Champions League/Cup, whereas in England Liverpool(5 times), Man U( twice), Nottingham Forrest(twice), and Aston Villa(once) have all won Europe's top club prize, also Glasgow Celtic which is a british club has won the top prize once. I don't have UEFA Cup/Fair's Cup winners off hand, but English clubs have done well in that comp too, plus there have been several english clubs to have won teh defunct Cup Winners Cup(which for a time was considered the second top club prize).Do I enjoy watching La Liga, of course, but the results speak for themselves and england has been one of the top destinations for generations, and it has been for a lot of clubs that england has been a destination, you just don't see an argentine player dying to go to Sevilla or Valencia

Good post Party P, I think the Man U / Liverpool games I've watched on Fox Sports are some of the best I've ever seen. But the Argentine league is simply amazing, I haven't seen more than a few games though.The Mexican league? What channels are they on? The only regular games I get are Premier League on Fox Sports.Long Live Futbol, Honestly America missed the boat. I don't think it's going to gain popularity here for a while either because of the growing Lacrosse phenomenon... Yeah Yeah I'm partial to my sport. But honestly Lacrosse is the fastest growing game from 8th Graders through the Professional level in the past 3 years and it's growing faster now. Lacrosse is the most entertaining game to watch and America is catching on, I would rather watch a Monday Night Lacrosse on ABC or ESPN than Football any day of the week.Anyone watch/play Lacrosse?

okay, as far as osasuna, you had to be typing that with a smile on your face because you know how utterly silly that it is. Sevilla maybe, but valencia has only had a good run in recent years and had a good stretch in the early 80s. Quite frankly, I'd be just as willing to watch the Madrid/Barca derby as I would be to watch Manchester/Liverpool. As far as Barca being teh most exciting team this year, you obviously didn't watch chelsea when they had their full side going(aka, when Robben wasn't injured). Just look at how they took it to Barca at Stamford Bridge, that was probably one of the best games I had seen all year. You must've missed the champions league final, cause after Liverpool clawed their way back, I was on the edge of my seat for the rest of the match. I do truelly believe that Brazil is the best league in the western hemisphere. I have watched them all to be able to compare(or at least watched as many as possible). You can also look at the results in continental competition, as Brazillian teams have fared well in all of the south american competitions. I do like the Argentine league a lot, and it is a great league. I think with the changes made in Brazil recently to their national competition is gonna really help the league a lot. As I said in a previously, Ive missed all European soccer in the past year.. and yes chelsea does have an amazing team.. but in my book, if Rohnaldinho is in a team, its the best team to watch play.

I do truelly believe that Brazil is the best league in the western hemisphere. I have watched them all to be able to compare(or at least watched as many as possible). Not greeeat, really, the libertadores is the only reeeal competition w/ prestige here in America, and brazil has done well, BUT its honestly too hard to beat Argentine teams (at least these past years it has), if some one does ( like Once caldas) did so by fluke. I havent been following the libertadores for ever, but Im pretty sure if u check the Finals for the past years its gonna say Boca, Boca, Boca, Boca...I like brazilian teams, but honestly they develope new players and then they leave, they cant keep them there. Argentina can barely keep there players, and Mexico acctually does spend quite a bit in keeping, and buying good players (they cant compete with europe though, obviously)

I hope that heritage part doesnt mean you think I'm some cholo that says Vato and stuff :-) ..Im from Mexico City, only came here to study.. anyway Im not just saying that cuz I'm Mexican, I say it because I've seen it first hand, I know the passion, and Ive played for the league..honestly it IS a great league, they have all their stars except Rafa Marquez from Barca (although I wish this wasnt true, and that more Mexican players were in Europe, it does make the league better) plus they have great international stars like Claudio "Piojo" Lopez from argentina, Cardozo Paraguay, A BUNCH of brazilians, and most of their South American (except Brazilian) players are starters/stars for their national teams. Honestly it is an exceptional league and I would say better than Brazilian, creeping up on Argentine. If I had taped the America v.s. Chivas game I would mail it to you.

I agree, it will get better, its a shame no one will watch it. What sux even more is that the national team is going to be a powerhouse in a few years (it is inevitable, the US just has better resources for athletes than any other country) and they wont get recognition for it. Honestly (hehe even though US nationals are HUGE rivals) I hope they do good, and I hope they get the soccer enthusiasnm gowing here. It will be hard though, my opinion is that the US doesnt like things that they cant own, they cant own soccer so it will be hard to get people to enjoy a sport in which other countries are involved.I was at a party last night and we got into the Spanish/English league discussion, and although we all agreed the English leage is amazing we all thought that the Spanish league was better, I guess its an opinion (or cultural) thing , or it depends on what you prefer to watch in a game.btw, just finished watching Brazil Germany, for anyone who didnt catch it, theyre repeating it on FSN in a couple hours. Also watching the U-20 World Cup quarters right now, Argentina Spain looks like its going to be a good match. Tomorrow Mexico Argentina in the confederation's semi's is gonna be crazy as well. the Finals are going to be amazing regardless.and Jayson, Mexican league is on Univision sometimes, If you get a channel called Galavision, or TV Azteca, you'll be able to watch it there also..its not in season right now though :-)
