Some hotels downtown have shuttles over there. I think maybe the Hyatt on Wacker has one, but don't quote me. Otherwise the closest is probably at the other casino's in gary, and I don't think transportation will be very easy. Plus the area sucks.Although I'm sure there's things in Hammond, but I wouldn't know how to tell you to get there either. Nothing walking distance that I know of, plus I wouldn't want to walk around NW Indiana very much.

I am trying to decide if I will play this one or the one in AC in December, just not sure if I want to drive to chicago or fly and I hate the idea of driving that distance on my own.

Think about Atlantic City, then think about Chicago. Pretty easy choice.

I think Jeff is planning on playing Event 2.

Hit the Horseshoe site and under the transportation link it gives the location of the shuttles downtown.
Jinky...are satellites going 24/7?If not how early? What time will the turbo's start?

easy choice because of the brunch of nut's there, that is one of the reasons for me to go, have to look at it. I was thinking of coming to Chicago on my next Dr's appt in MI which would be a 4 hour drive from there.but I have done a trip to AC the 1st week of Dec last year and loved it but my tournies where paid for by a friend of mine who lives there and I want to see him again lol. But maybe I can do both. I will look at the flights

I might actually make event 1 now. Work schedule changed last minute. I'd love to go deep in a 2 day event, especially the first one. It usually gets the largest number of entrants.Hopefully I'll see some of you FCP guys at the Shoe this Friday/Sat or on the 2nd of November.Anyone know how late you play on Day 1 and what time Day 2 starts?Edit: Looking back on past events, looks like they play for about 9-10 hours and come back the next day at Noon or 2pm. Figured I'd ask though since I've never been to a tournament this big before. Also, are you gonna be working these two days Mike? It'd be cool to see ya again.

Sattys will be 9am til midnight I believe. The $120 turbo tourney is 9pm nightly. Everything will be in the Venue, only cash games in the poker room. There will extra food stuff set up there also.Day 1 might go until 2am if needed depending on entries(750-850 is what they are saying now) or it could stop at 11pm you never know. 2nd day will start at 2pmI work Friday and Saturday 9am-7pm. Off Sunday. Mon,Tues, Thursday 11am- 7pm.Heading to Majestic today 10am ish for some 3-6 action.

There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in Hammond or anywhere else really in NW Indiana to do, except some nudie bars. I would definitely suggest staying downtown and taking a shuttle.

I'm actually 30 secs from MI so if you're in the neighbourhood and i don't have to work i'll do a session at CW with ya, let me know when you're coming down.truthfully, you'll probably pass by my house on your way to the bridge.

I have been telling everyone the same thing since the Ramada and Quality inn down the street have been booked up for about 3-4 weeks now. Is Gallo ever gonna drive 5minutes to the Shoe to say Hi? I'll probably see you at Dan's next home game maybe.

thanks Melissa when I go to MI I usually take the 402 and go though Sarnia to avoid the construction at the bridge, then I found it is a quicker and shorter route. But I may just do that to break up the drive. will let you know.

Agreed. My buddy and I made a wrong turn once coming out of one of the Gary casinos and got lost for about 5 mins. Scariest 5 mins of my life. Didn't help that my buddy who was driving is a total white-boy who grew up in the suburbs. Those who are from out of town can just drop by Chinatown and take one of like many shuttles that go to the casinos in NW Indiana. Just look for groups of old black people and Asian people standing around. They know where and when to wait for the different casino shuttles.
