I've been away from the internet all day--doing some work this morning, then roast beef sandwich w/ potato chips for lunch, then went to see "Dark Knight" with an old friend, then played tennis, then dinner, then talking to an ex-gf on the phone. honestly, I am amazed at the viciousness of jeepster's post. he PMed me this afternoon to ask me to respond to his taunt, and has posted above suggesting I have been anonymously lurking all day. all I can say is that I stake my life, God as my witness, that one of the options I posted is correct. As for my friends/loneliness, I have around 8-10 close friends, probably two dozen less close friends, a bunch of acquiantances, and twelve ex-gfs I've been with, and a bunch of girls that I've just hooked up with once or twice and it didn't get that far. I'm sure there are people on here with more friends/hookups than me, I'm sure there are less. But I am by no means an isolated person. I'm going to sleep now, but honestly jeepster you might want to consult a psychologist considering the posts you have made today. Notice that in addition to acting like an ass and then being "confused" by people's reactions to that, he STILL wants to try and play the "guess who I am" Game.I stand by my assessment that he suffers from some cyclic mental illness. He comes back every couple of months, gets his attention fix, and then disappears for a while. He claimed Asberger's once - but that may be just transference since his hero is rumored to suffer from Asberger's. I don’t know if Asberger’s is a cyclic disorder. Looking at his posting history, I really believe that he blew some sort of circuit in his brain in the Fall of 2006. Before that he seemed like a reasonably "average" guy.And he could be a member of academia – even a post graduate. I have known some pretty loopy PhD candidates.

I'm not going to say the discipline b/c I don't want to be identified (for obvious reasons) but it is a well-established department either in the Engineering school or the school of Arts and Sciences. So Pot Odds was absolutely correct. This doesn;t mean that everything is perfect with my life, but it does mean that I have a real life outside of this forum--teach a couple classes per semester, work on my research, travel, have fun--and that it is possible to be out of control in certain ways and highly effective in others.

See, I don't think it is completely farfetched to think that someone could find a way to Earn a PhD from someplace like Cornell - let's say in Clynical Psych - and land a spot a a school like Syracuse and still have enough of their own personality disorders to act like a social misfit on a Poker Forum.
