guinevar 0
I don't have a bankroll. I don't know what a bankroll is. How do you guys define a bankroll? what do you do when it is gone? Is it time based? I play poker and have a number in mind that I am comfortable losing. I never come close to it, but that is not to say that I don't lose. When I win, I don't add the money to a bankroll. I spend it. When I want to play again, I take money out of my checking account. I don't ever see stopping playing poker, and I don't ever see making a living at it.A bankroll is money you've set aside to play poker. Monitoring that money (your bankroll) helps you to keep track of how much money you have won or lost. You are much more likely to lie to yourself about how much you have won or lost in live games. Online, the bankroll is much easier to define as you have to type in the amount of money you are willing to deposit at a certain cardroom. That is a bankroll. Not keeping track of the money you use while playing poker is a good indicator you are or will be a long term loser at the game. Keep records. it is important.

But it sounds like you play for entertainment purposes and not really to win money. So you're right you really don't have a bankroll.
Jeff 0
you stop playing for ever? I don't ever see that happening. Short of losing my house, job, wife, kid, clothes, cars, and being a naked homeless person (which is why I've been saying I don't have a bankroll), I don't ever see stopping. I am not on course for this to happen.
rexmundi 0
you guys really think you need 300X the BB as a BR? I was thinking 100X is OK. I play 3-6 at the casinos with about 50X and usually am either up or down $100i actually play with 100x BB as a BR. Of course, I cash out all the time, as I don't like to keep over a grand in my account.. And as justblaze says, bankroll is really money used for gambling. Technically, anything I cash out can go back in, but it hasnt come to that yet. For some reason I have a mental block when I get to around 1500.. Then the money loses it's value to me, and I play a lot looser than I should. At any rate, sometime this week when I hit 1500 again, iam moving up to 10/20. f the bullsh1t.. I know people may flame saying, "YOU'RE GONNA GO BROKE!!", but guess what, if I lose one stake at the 10/20, Ill move back down with my tail b/w my legs.. haha.. And I know variance happens.. yeah yeah.. I think it was in november I went up to the 15/30 with 1500 bucks in my account. But not only did I play like a maniac and assume I could play like a newb, I literally only won maybe 3 hands. yeah..it was back to the 2/4 after that one. And lots of beer to ease the pain..
