Zach6668 513
Is 11% really that out of line for a tourney with close to 15000 people? If 15% of the field gets paid which is the norm I actually like what they did today more than any other structure. Close to 3/4 of the people who cashed got a min cash leaving more money for the top 4%. I an a very low volume player but when I occasionally did make it deep in a tourney it drove me crazy to make the top 18 in a tourney with a couple thousnad players and not even making 4 times what a min cash was. Or before when the diffrence between 1st and second was roughly double people complained about that too. if you pay 14% regularly for 1st with 7k partcipants that number does have to go down for 15000.15% is definitely not a standard payout structure. 10%, or less, is the standard at WSOP tournaments, and most online tournaments. chgocubs99 0
15% is silly, but paying only 10% to a winner of a tournament of any buy in, with any amount of entrants, seems to be the bigger issue to our tournament specialists.

copernicus 0
threads too long, skipped the last 4 or 5 pages. Not mentioned in the first several is the fact that most people sateliitte into the SM. If a $3 tourney player doesnt think hes got a reasonable shot at making at least the 215 back with a little profit, hes either cashing the entry in for T$ or not playing the satellites at all. no not baxter 0
what are you talking about[x] mostly correctmost people who qualify for the sunday million do not take the T$, they just want the money. Do you really think the random fish looks at the payout scale and even if they do will they recognize a difference and even if they do recognize a difference who says they like a flatter payout structure?also, my point about it not mattering is mostly to the fact that i dont care what else this does, i just want tournament poker to be tournament poker. I want the normal % of the field being paid with the normal % of $ going to first. I don't want this all changed and make it all gayed up because stars wants more dinero. SilentButDeadly3 0
I'm sure this is already mentioned, as I only got thru about 5 pages and I'm 95% sure the thread is de-railed by now. But all of you saying fish cashing in the event would "bring in more money." How about a bigger 1st place prize? I think if first were something like $1M or even 500k, there'd be a TON of fish who would play just to have a chance at that. Bigger first place payouts means more fish/nits take shots thinking "ZOMG I COULD WIN ONE MILLION DOLLARS" or what have you.

WhatArunAA 0
The payout structure is awful for tourney pros.. but very good for micro donks.. that being said, I think people are overestimating how much micro fish pump into the poker economy.
