it was surprisingly soft and they had three tables going even during the afternoon. I really enjoyed it. The 1/2 NL games are still pretty damn bad everywhere which is nice. I avoid 2/5NL now though....for whatever reason I find the game is usually tougher than the 5/10.
What happened with the job interview in Haddonfield?

In my experience the 2/5 NL games are just as juicy as 1/2 NL on the weekends. Don't know about during the week, I haven't put many hours in during the week playing 2/5 at this point, but the hours I have put in lend credence to what you guys have been saying. Was down at Caesars two days ago, one of my friends from my former cash games in MD was in town so I decided to sweat him while he played 1/2 NL for a little while. It really is a shame that they allowed smoking on the casino floors again, that law was so money. The Caesars room isn't separated from the main floor like the Borgata's is, and it would be so much better (particularly if you are trying to watch a game while playing) if the smell of smoke didn't permeate the room. I don't mind it, but its a pain having to wash my hoodie/sweatshirt every time I play no matter how long/short I have been playing.Tre, if you are going to be playing 1B of event 1, I will try and swing by. I know a couple other FCPers were thinking about playing too. Maybe we can get a group of people to grab food together during the dinner break or something, that would be pretty fun. Doesn't look like I will be able to play any of this series events unfortunately. I would really like to play the first event myself but can't dedicate that much time to it. Too bad they did not have an identical event during the Summer Open.Glad that taking a shot worked out well for you CaneBrain.

outlook hazy. I think that firm is a no. But it might lead to something in the area. Applied to a couple firms on the recommendation of the attorney I met with in Haddonfield. He said he would put in a call for me. WHo knows. Economy is rough.

I'm pretty sure Vtlaxer will be at Borgata so I'm sure he'll be in for dinner or something. I have to be careful where I eat in accordance with my prop bet though :)GL with the job search Cane.
Are you allowed to speak of the prop bet terms or is that also part of the prop bet? I have got an interview on Friday the 16th at 2:30, so if either of you guys make a deep run I'll miss the early going, but I will definetely drop by to sweat you afterwards. I am curious to see what kind of #s show up for this first tournament, considering its a low buy-in but its a multi-day event (which in a way inflates the buy-in). I'm still tilting that they didn't have an event like this during the Summer Open. I will PM you my cell phone # so you can let me know your table draw and such. Maybe you will get to sit next to Nick Frangos like I did during the Summer Open and can take advantage of the fact he does a terrible job of protecting his cards.
I have a bachelor party coming up soon which will take place in many of the casinos. Details to follow.
What kind of timeframe is soon (rough guess)? You decide if you are going to play any of the Winter Open events?

Not sure yet. My buddy is planning. All I said was I want to play cards and drink. I doubt I will play the Winter Open, I just got a new position at work and it is been crazy. I got dirty looks for asking off for my wedding.

I apologize for laughing at this, but for some reason I found it really funny. Glad that they, albeit begrudgingly, acquiesced (sp?).

Yep, the terms are in my blog which is in my sig.. read the first post for details of the bet.. I think the rest of the blog is a good read too :)I've played with Frangos a few times but I think I was always sitting at the other end of the table.

Your bet is BRUTAL. I could never give up Taco Bell for a year. Ever. I assume you guys took this bet against each other more to promote a more healthy eating style as opposed to the money involved. That does eliminate essentially all of the downstairs restaurants as potential dinner spots. Honestly, the only places I can think of that would be safe for your bet would be the metropolitan place and maybe the noodle bar (can't remember the name of it off the top of my head so don't know if it is a chain).Edit: I am finding your blog hilarious but I fear its current subject dwelling on the foods you can no longer eat is an exercise in self torture. But if you can keep writing about it, I will keep enjoying it. I especially liked how the 11 year old was discussing the merits of the bacon cheddar gordita crunch.

I agree it is absolutely brutal. Especially for someone like me who loooooooves fast food. I probably negotiated the bet poorly and should have gotten odds just because of how much I eat out and also because having a 4 month old makes it much more difficult. While the bet does have a bit to do with healthy eating its more of me testing my willpower and seeing if I have the ability to give up something that I love for an entire year. Also, the bet will encourage me to try a lot of different types of smaller, hometown type restaurants which I also enjoy quite a bit. Noodles of the world is the noodle place at Borgata. I know there are several of them but I don't think there are more than 50. I could also eat at Tony Luke's downstairs and probably the Pizza place. I really really love talking about fast food and as you can tell by the comments on the blog my best friends are also obsessed with it so although it sucks to think that I can't eat it I feel its almost therapeutic to talk about. The 11 year old was ridiculous. Here I was, 3 days into the bet, watching him stuff his fat little face with delicious pepperoni pizza and then he starts talking about taco bell out of nowhere specifically a delicious item that just so happens to include my favorite food (bacon) which I've only gotten to try twice since it was introduced.

I LOL'd so hard at this. Copied it from the Borgata Poker Blog since they are covering the Winter Open.Tough Tables Some tough table draws in today's event includeTable 24: Chris Reslock, Tiffany Williamson,Table 13: Mike Sica, Abraham Korotki Posted by Johnnie Walker at 1:14 PMI mean Chris Reslock isn't someone you generally want at your table, but Tiffany Williamson? Come on...Over 600 players registered and played in Day 1A, so should be a good field and a very nice prize. I imagine Day 1B will be larger but who knows.

I love that noodle bar. One of my all time favorites. I eat there at least twice every time I go to the Borgata. The beef fried rice is awesome. So is the lo mein. The noodle soups are great too.It is too bad they closed the Susanna Foo spinoff (Suilan). That was a really awesome Chinese place (though too expensive).

Reslock is probably the toughest tournament stud player I've ever played against IMO. Even moreso shorthanded.

So it appears the final #s for event 1 are 1551 players, total prize pool of 540k+, first place prize of 102k+. Huge numbers for a $350+50 event.

WOW. Go borgata. Those are great numbers. When is their next big event? Probably the summer, right? I would love to go play some events if they are getting that kind of turnout.

Yeah I assume their next tournament series will be the Summer Open, but who knows? If their turnouts are like this, they may become inclined to have a Borgata Open for every season of the year. Could we see a Spring Open and a Fall Open this year? Would not be terribly surprising. I just hope they have a deep stack event in this price range during their next series, as I definetely don't want to miss out on it again.Curse my job interview Friday for preventing me from attending! *shakes fist*Going to stop by and see how Tre and company are doing around the dinner break, when I get back to my apartment I will give you guys an update.Update: As of about 4:45 he was sitting on 75k.

He's pretty bad at tournament hold em' IMO. I actually busted him in the deepstack but prior to that he made a super spewy shove when a tight woman raised 4bb UTG and it folded to his BB and he shipped like 15bb with 55.

Never played NLHE against him. In the HOSE tourney down to 2 tables, I found him to be very tough when we got shorthanded on the FT bubble in the stud games.
