ROBBBIGG 0
if i have a suited ace + rags and am in the big blind, utg or mp raises (6 handed), and it's called all around, can i call profitably?910Jrag, 10jqrag, 10109rag - how strong are these hands preflop?QQ10rag - can we 3 bet this vs a random? Suppose mp opens, button calls, and i'm in the small blind. bdc30 0
if i have a suited ace + rags and am in the big blind, utg or mp raises (6 handed), and it's called all around, can i call profitably?no, being out of position sucks - BADLY. I can't stress this enough910Jrag, 10jqrag, 10109rag - how strong are these hands preflop?Depends on your position, how many limpers, has anyone raised. Position is most important.QQ10rag - can we 3 bet this vs a random? Suppose mp opens, button calls, and i'm in the small blind. Also, what if UTG raises and I'm OTB?No, it's not a 3b hand. In both your examples I'll probably flat call for set value depending on villain.KKQrag - should we be 3betting this against randoms v often?Depends on position. In general not against a random.AAxx - is this always a 3bet? what do we do if called and we get a baby flop (467?) HU vs a random?I'd say I'm 3betting aces about 75-85% of the time. Depends on position and opponents. You will cbet a high% of the time as wellA234 with a suited ace - how powerful is this with position?Trash. Iggy said something once that always stuck with me - never play hands with deuces in them. Any straight you'll hit here will be the bottom end. Save A234 for o8. In general, hands with "xxx-rag" have to be played very cautiously. From up front I'm folding them often. If I'm CO or BTN, I'll open with them if it's folded to me.You can't lump plo in to starting hand charts.
ROBBBIGG 0
Thanks. I suspect I'm overplaying 3broadways+rag and I've been 3betting KKxx pretty relentlessly, so I'll tone it down. I definitely aim to play a game where I recognize the power of position, but those weird "almost great hands" throw me.
bdc30 0
Position > Hand Strength in plo. There are so many hands that I'll fold from UTG which I will 3bet with from the button.

bdc30 0
I'm more inclined to do it with rundown/wrap type hands (suits are a bonus too) than I am with like KKxx, QQxx, KQxx.Anything from about 5678 on upwards. There can even be a gap in them 789J, etc.
iggymcfly 0
Yeah, rundowns and one-gappers are much better 3-betting hands than KKxx or QQxx. I'll also mix in 8876 type hands sometimes and stuff like AKQ9ds and KKT8ds against real aggressive raisers where I'm not too worried about a 4-bet or when there are shallow stacks so that you get more value out of your heads-up equity.QJTx and JT9x I used to play from most positions, but now I only play them from the CO or Button and I think it's a big improvement. TT9x is almost always playable though as long as you keep the pot small. It's one of the few hands that I'll actually open-limp with from two off the button. I think A234 with a suited ace is actually playable on the button a lot of the time, but only in the way that A953 with a suited ace is playable. The suited ace is making up the vast majority of the value and you definitely don't want to play it OOP.
