i'm bad at naming things, you got any good ideas? I'm not set on it or anything, and would happily take suggestions. Bob says I'm not in midtown no matter what Google Maps say, lol.

I grew up with Eglinton and Yonge being Midtown.

I dont agree with the definition of North Toronto.

Yonge and Eglinton has always been midtown to me..

Downtown to me is Front street to Carlton ish..

Then from St Clair to York Mills ish I consider midtown..

If you guys consider Yonge and Eglinton Uptown, then what is Yonge and Sheppard? Yonge and Finch?

Bob seems to be the only source to not consider Yonge and Eglinton as midtown. Wikipedia is mixed on it (with more references to it being midtown than uptown) but other sources like Google Maps and random neighborhood maps clearly identifying it as midtown.

To be fair, I don't think I heard the term "midtown" or "uptown" when I lived in Toronto. When I lived there, everything below Bloor was "downtown" though when I went to Guelph, it seemed like people from places like Aurora called anything below Finch "downtown", which is ridiculous.

I wouldn't really consider that midtown Toronto. I would consider that midtown GTA. I kind of see Bob's view.

Yonge, north of 401/Sheppard was pretty much North York to me when I grew up in NY area as a kid.

Its peoples perceptions..

When I am out of town I dont tell people I live in Pickering..Its still Toronto to me...Sure its the GTA..

Then I have people that live downtown that have never been east of Victoria Park.

Toronto doesn't go to Sheppard, that is North York

I'm old and recognize the old cities.

North Toronto Collegiate is at Yonge and Eglinton

Just dont use Metropolitans, please.

When I named these teams originally, they were based on where I was in life. Playing poker, specifically. I've changed my focus and wanted to reflect that. Something that reflects urbanism of some sort. Tough to do with a (fake) sports team.

"Metropolitans" has hockey history (Seattle) and sports history (NY Mets).

I'm open to suggestions.

I really dont like the term Metropolitans..When the NHL came up with it I thought it was a joke..

Sort of like the $100 question on Who Want to be a Millionaire...Which one of these names dont make sense?
