PMJ you are correct in this...Hollywood seriously???Tiger should be #1 though...you ask anyone that really knows him (MJ, Smoltz, etc) and they say that he is a phenomenal athlete overall....it really isn't just golf.PMJ is one of the great sports posters that we have here at FCP and you saying all of this just shows enough about you imo...

Obvious fake account or you didn't read the thread closely. It appears Hollyass was making a valid point, only to have PMS validate said point, and then the 2 would rant on about the same thing once again. I think they are both stoned.

Not having Tiger on this list makes is horribly unbelievable.PMJ is correct.
Yes.. PMJ is correct..."Being successful at your sport does not necessarily make you a great athlete." -- PMJI agree 100% with this statement by PMJ

I'd replace Nadal with Federer imo. On an "athlete" basis and the criteria mentioned he wins handsdown. I don't know about any of the American athletes but I wouldn't add a golfer even as amazing as Tiger is. I really don't think a golfer can be compared as an athlete properly to anyone else on the list. Floyd Mayweather vs Tiger Woods for athletic ability? And yes Hollywood is a ridiculous stain that should be avoided but hes so retarded its hard not to laugh about him openly and lol at his new "friend" who goes around defending his every post

Again, I'm always stoned. I'm still waiting to figure out what valid point was made in regards to Tiger not being an athlete. So, which little boy are you hiding behind a joke account?

C'mon Scott, lets be friends. To be honest, I'm a little intimidated by your jousting/medieval melee skills and don't want to be looking over the shoulder the rest of my life expecting a guy in a Renaissance costume to jump out of the bushes and hit me with a mace.

I'd allow LLY to speculate that Hollywood and I were the same person (truly hurtful obv) because he is much smarter then me.

http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/doc...GREATEST08.html1. Roman Sebrle, decathlete2. LeBron James, NBA3. Floyd Mayweather, boxer4. LaDainian Tomlinson, NFL5. Roger Federer, tennis6. Sidney Crosby, NHL7. Lu Xiang, 110m hurdler8. Jeremy Wariner, 400m sprinter9. Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, soccer/football (wherever you live :club: )10. Alex Rodriguez, MLB
this is kind of a pointless exercise as the list is shaped almost entirely by the criteria. If it is just by who is the most athletic than this list sucks. Federer should be gone. Ditto Arod, Ronaldo and Crosby. They should be replaced by decathletes and two sport college stars. Only Lebron would stay because he is an athletic freak AND a great basketball player. If the list is not solely driven by athleticism then leaving off Tiger is petarded. The guy just won the US Open on one leg and is the biggest star in sports. So yeah, the WSJ should stick to writing incorrect things about politics and finance and leave sports to others.

Yeah the criteria was pretty messed up, and it's like they wanted to get at least one NFL/NBA/MLB player on there. I can think of quite a few baseball players that I'd consider to be superior athletes to Arod (Jose Reyes being the first name that comes to mind, then of course, Benji Molina). Is petarded a combo of PETA and retarded? :club:

It's hard to compare athletic ability in different sports. It's hard to compare Roger Federer to LBJ because each cannot do what the other does. Who would win in a game of 1 on 1 basketball with Floyd Mayweather and Sid the kid? What if they had a foot race? What if they swam a mile? Impossible to tell because because those particular skill sets don't show up in the sports they are best at. While Tiger is a phenominal athlete, his skill sets are limited in golf because he swings a golf club. There is no running, hitting people, or juke moves on the course. But I do believe Tiger would be a top athlete if he chose a different sport like baseball and would have excelled no matter what he chose. Having said that, I do believe Phil belongs on this list. You must be absolutely the best athlete ever and hardest worker of all time to get rid of those sausage titties that he used to have.

I would be willing to bet a very large sum of money Tiger beats 6 of those "athletes" in a decathlon or a made up 10 sport gauge. Leaving him off the list is tragic. If they don't put Tiger on there because golf is not a sport how the hell could they put Federer on there? Yeah, running back and forth in a 15 foot box is super athletic compared to walking close to 5 miles of hills each day. And I play plenty of both tennis and golf. And for God's sake, a MLB player is an athlete? Give me a break. Bottom line, based on the criteria provided it is obvious Tiger should be on the list. What happens when Mayweather gets embarrassed in his own sport by an MMA specialist when he fights Anderson Silva?

I... have a hard time believing Tiger could beat 6 of the names on that list in a decathlon. I'd like to see the six you believe he'd have a chance against.

Ronaldo ( who is a joke to be on this list, and just shows that whom ever made it knows nothing about the current state of soccer), Sydny Crosby, and Roman Sebrle (obv) are the only one's I think could beat

decathlon events: * 100 metres * long jump * shot put * high jump * 400 metres * 110 metre hurdles * discus * pole vault * javelin * 1500 metres1. Roman Sebrle, decathlete-only on a really really good day obv2. LeBron James, NBA---would be very competitive3. Floyd Mayweather, boxer--EASILY BEAT4. LaDainian Tomlinson, NFL--again, would be very competitive5. Roger Federer, tennis--EASILY6. Sidney Crosby, NHL---EASILY7. Lu Xiang, 110m hurdler----EASILY win strength events8. Jeremy Wariner, 400m sprinter---i actually think TW would be competitive here winning the strength events9. Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, soccer/football (wherever you live smile.gif )----Ronaldo would win 400 and 1500 and that's it10. Alex Rodriguez, MLB---EASILYPeople under estimate TW's abilities simply because he plays golf. He benches over 300, can easily stand flat foot under the hoop and dunk a basketball, and has some of the strongest legs around. I wouldn't count him out in the runs even against James, Tomlinson, and Ronaldo. I do not know anyone on that list that hates to lose more than Tiger. His mental toughness from that would be such a huge factor in an event like this.

I'm normally one of the people that will say Tiger is a better athlete than people give him credit for, but he's not even close to as good of an athlete as LT or LBJ.

you guys are seriously underestimating the athleticism of Sidney Crosby. His lower body strength would probably be described as 'freakish'
I think people probably underestimate hockey players in general. The pads don't give them enough credit for how solid their body typically is.
