Bet roughly around 800-1000.
I don't see how I can do that here. The pot is already like 2200 and both players have about 1200 chips left. If I'm going to bet 800 I might as well shove, right?

Check & feign weakness, like the diamond worried you and as if BB's calling is worrying you. Don't really think you can put BB on any hand that will improve with river, if BB checks river, value bet it, if BB pushes, than great for you.

Aww rin. It's a half pot bet and he isn't folding a queen most times after calling on the flop. If we check behind we give him a free shot at 2 pair if he's behind, or worse, if a 4th diamond falls we probably won't get paid at all.

My roommate was watching this hand and said, "it just feels like a set, check behind and re-evaluate on the river." I didn't necessarily agree with him. Four hands make sense here given villain's preflop 3-bet and then flat-calling my flop raise: QQ, KK, AQ, AA. We can probably safely rule out JJ, I think they fold to my flop raise. Can't be AK of diamonds as we have the Ad. AA is probably safe to rule out since we have the other two aces, but we actually would love that here as we're freerolling to the flush. So of the other three probable hands - all three make sense given the villain's line. You almost feel like QQ would have lead out at the turn though to find out if he was up against the diamond flush, and not possibly let a naked diamond draw check behind. KK or AQ seems to make even more sense given how the hand was played, and we dominate those hands. Even against the QQ we have the nut diamond draw or the other two aces as outs. So basically my roommate wanted me to check behind, I said no way because I wouldn't get paid off on anything if I check and the fourth diamond falls. I wanted to shove - as most people here have suggested.Any last comments before I post the results?

What can there be about the river card to reevaluate? Making the flush that kills your action? Or does he want you to fold if you dont make the flush?with a flop stack to pot ratio of under 2 youre playing this to get all the money in, win or lose. With the stacks after the flop pushing is the only reasonable bet.

Yeah, strangely enough, roommate was thinking that it was probabably a fold if I didn't improve on the river, which I just felt was an extremely soft, tight line. The only way a diamond is good for me is if villain was holding Kx Kd. Roommate was thinking that even if fourth diamond fell that the set of queens would pay off, but I dont think so, since Qd was on board. Even a set probably folds on a four-flushed board. You all have basically mimiced my thoughts, which is that we have to get all the money in here while we can. My roommate was just so sure on his read that I wanted to make sure that there wasn't something in the play that I had missed.I did in fact shove the turn, villain insta-called and did have the set of queens. I didn't improve on the river, was down to 75 chips and out the following hand. I chalked it up to a cooler, roommate thought I played it poorly.

Yea.. Lots of ways to play this hand. I don't have a problem with a shove on the turn. You do have the diamond outs if you are behind so you're not drawing dead and chances are good you have the best hand because at this point he basically has to have a set to beat you. Hard to read for a set there... QQ would be the only viable set to put him on, because he's flat calling preflop with 55 or 77. I think my style of play would have me either reraising preflop possibly moving in, he's got a good enough hand to reraise with and unless he thinks your just trying to be table captain I put him on a legitimate hand here preflop as there would be no reason to risk being knocked out of the tournament before the money with his chip stack, and I probably shove happy to take down his reraise if he doesn't call, and if he does I know I got it in good and then you can just chalk it up to a bad beat. However if i do choose to flat call as you did. I probably raise his flop bet, check behind him on the turn to see what happens at the river. Still don't know if I get away from it at the river if he shoves though.. possibly. oh well, just my two cents. I don't think you played the hand badly though. That's what they say with AA, you generally lose a big one or win a small one.

I flatted pre-flop for a couple reasons.a ) my image was that I was fairly aggressive. I had only shown down good hands, but I'd done a few button steals, etc. The villain could've had me on a fairly loose range, and my flat here makes it look more like two broadway cards instead of a premium hand.b ) most importantly, I have position. Unless the flop is insanely scary, the villain is going to c-bet here, and depending just how the flop comes I can flat-call there and let him bury himself, or I can raise for value. My standard play is to 3-bet, but I don't mind mixing in a flat-call of the re-raise when I'm in position.

the thing is even if you re raise all in pre flop villian's pretty much never folding queens given that you have a fairly aggro rep at the time. he still would have spiked the set and you still would lose.the only way you get out alive is if you make a miracle read and know that he hit his set. but i think folding in this spot is poor.
