Those are cool balls. Esp if you have a ton of revs and get it drilled right, it drives me insane.
Dont have a ton of revs but thinking about re-drilling it for it to spin the right way and look freaky. Might do that when I get my friends rapid fire in a couple of weeks.

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...;videoid=858655I found an old video from a few years ago of me.Its a bit sloppy, but it is close to my roll now. I have a bit more revs and I am MUCH lower to the ground now.But a decent idea.I'll try and get a good vid of me sometime and put it up.EDIT: It looks private...let me figure out how to make it public.RE-EDIT: Ok it works now.

I use to bowl 5-pin growing up till I was maybe 15 or so when I lost interest. 5-pin is a Canadian game with smaller balls and a high score of 400 as pins are worth more.My highest score was 294, could never break 300 and my average was around 175-180. Pretty weak compared to men, but as a teen it was decent. Our best year was winning the regionals and bussing it to Ottawa for the provincials. We got our asses kicked but it was hell of a good time.

Max score is 450 :-) Silly Canadians don't know their own game :-)I only know because I remember going 5-pin bowling in Winnipeg a few years back and seeing the high scores. I shot a 260 high my only time going, I was pretty pumped.

always cool to get an idea of how people throw. Always interesting to know were the lanes dry that day or you putting that much on it? Do you remember what ball you were throwing? I know for one thing your ball speed is way faster than my speed. I use to through a lot faster but in the last year or so I have slowed down my ball speed cut down where I started standing. now standing about a step in front of the first dots and I am able to get way more on my ball than I use to before. Before my ball speed was probably much more similar to you was maybe 5-7 boards right on a medium-dry oil pattern.

Man that video was a few years ago.Adrenaline was the bowling ball. And I am quite sure there was some carrydown because it was just after a woman's bowling tourney so there was a bunch of oil so I needed to play outside. So from an oil standpoint, I would say medium to medium-heavy. I am going to bring a video camera to my Wednesday NDSU practice and I'll take some shots of bowlers.

We have nationals coming up fast, and we were going to have 4 practices a week. But due to the floods in Fargo, every bowling alley is closed, I haven't bowled in 2 weeks now and they won't be open for another week still. FML

For those who don't follow PBA enough, Jason Belmonte won the PBA event this week. For those who don't know who HE is...he bowls 2-handed and is just a sicko. He will become the new face of the PBA and something "trendy" that the press will just EAT up. This is a great thing for bowling.

Just dropping by this forum to throw in my nickle's worth of bowling comments.I'm heading to LV a week from today (Apr. 6) to spend the week and bowl the Nationals on Wed/Thurs. This is my 20th straight year and I'm one of the few people who still enjoys bowling as recreation and not so much to win everything in sight.I average currently 190 and when I bowl the Natls. it's mainly to enjoy wherever the tournament is and the guys I bowl with. I bowl one night a week regularly, and sub probably once a month in another.Saw Belmonte win the PBA tournament yesterday....sick shot that guy throws. Went to Indy to watch the pros a month ago and watched him throw quite a bit. He has serious talent, even if it seems it is a novelty. The only issue I see with him is how he can persevere through an injury. That style is hard on your body. How many folks do we have on here who are planning on bowling nationals?Good luck to all.

You guys all beat me to the punch talking about belmonte. It was nice to see him on TV and hearing what randy pederson had to say about him. I think in everyones eyes there is no question about his talent but I do wonder how he will be when he gets to his 40's. Will his body still hold up. Also just amazing how long robert smith has been in PBA for. I still remember when he first started and all the talk that was towards him. As for me hoping I can sub at a league this week weds but we will see.

I will be there in the end of July. It's my first year going, since I didn't go last year due to tight money (this is my 2nd year adult)

subbed for a league tonight. Shot 244 257 241 won almost 350. My best series ever. I had a one miss all game which was the 4 pin in the 3rd frame of the 1st game. threw 23 strikes. Not even in practice have I shot this good. I have bowled a total of six games this league 5 of which over 230 and one game under 200 (199). Averaging 242 over six games. Suppose to bowl a couple more weeks hoping I can make more money. didnt mean this to be a brag post just super excited with my bowling from tonight.

Are there any best practices to get some back end finish other than "Keep your hand under the ball" and "Crank it and follow through"? Cause I seem to have tried that. I know it isn't my ball cause the 220 bowler in our league threw one shot and it finished twice as hard as mine ever did.

Lift at the line (an expansion on "Cranking")Also focus on curling the fingers in the ball on release. Also if you can, at the setup, tilt your hand 45 degrees left so the axis rotation changes to more side to side rather than full roll.Experiment with your pinkie finger in different spots tucked, curled, spread out)

Well I started hanging out with a different group of bowlers these past few weeks. My average was about 150 with my old group, I never tried to improve my 2 handed style because I didn't need to. But this new group...They get 200's way more often and they kick my ass. So I spent a few games revamping my style (still 2 handed), but I focused on getting single pin spares as well to improve my game. My average is in the mid 180's now (small sample, but it's sick how I bowled 10 games and my low game was 179 and my high was 197). I like the consistancy, the week before I bowled my first 200 game in about a year (223, then 212).I might be onto something, I'm back to my old High School form :club:

Shot 666 tonight. 184-247-235Shot some videos of me tonight too.Far Shot

Closer
Looking at my Footwork (I walk in in arc, drifting a few board left then a few boards right to end up where I started)
All 3 were strikes. I was throwing my Total NV and standing 23, pitching it out to around 8ish.No need for me to play deeper tonight (NV is my least hooking ball)
