byaaatch 0
I had my best series ever last night. Now it's probably pretty pathetic compared to most of your scores but it was the most fun I've had bowling in leagues. First game 191, second game 221 where I left the 10th open. Third game was 214.congrats man. Funny thing is I don't remember my first 600 but I do remember my first 200. Felt like the top of the world. Just keep practicing with your spares cause that is the key to more 600's.
rocketpoker828 0
Bowled 578 tonight, which is very impressive considering I felt like shit the entire time.
FARGOpokerND 22
I threw my new MaxxX Zone and Wild Ride last night at practice. God those balls are sweet. The WR has such a nice arc in the back that is sososo controllable. The MZ just hooks. A TON. I had an off-angle balance hole put in it to increase the flare to help it flip harder.Love them both.I leave for Indy tonight for the biggest college tourney ever (in terms of prize money) and NDSU hasn't had a real good showing at any tourney yet, now would be nice since sectionals are coming up in 3 weeks. FARGOpokerND 22
So, we sucked in Indy. I have never snapped off so many 10pins in my life. Today we found out where we got put for sectionals. That is essentially the NCAA Mens basketball tourney. 64 teams, 16 at 4 locations. Top 4 teams from each location move on to nationals. The location was Vegas, St Louis, Allentown PA and Chattanooga. We were informed that it was pretty much a coinflip that we would be in Vegas or St Louis. We have been stuck in St Louis last 2 years and Sectionals coincides with Spring Break this year so we have been praying for Vegas. This morning we find out we will be in Vegas! I am pretty pumped. Not a bad spot for likely my last college tourney ever.
Dice_3008 1
I followed up my 626 series last week with another decent outing. 201, 171, and 191 where I left the 10th open in the 2nd and 3rd game. I f***ing hate leaving the 10th open. We also took all seven points and moved into third place. Woohoo.

But it was funny, I almost won the 3-6-9 jackpot. (Striking the 3rd 6th 9th frame of all 3 games) I went flush on the 1st 7 of them, and then in the 6th frame of 3rd game I smashed a 9 pin and then just for good measure I went flush in the 9th frame of the 3rd game. Would have been a nice 128 bucks for me there.
byaaatch 0
hey fargo question for you as far as adjusting shots. There are so many ways to move when the lanes are drying out. Some people tend to move left (if you are right handed) while others will just change balls. If it is a slight adjustment you could move up your hand position to hold it higher up so your pushoff will result in a faster ball speed or you could just change balls. How are you playing the adjustment? For me I tend to move unless I have moved over more than 7 to 8 boards left then I will change balls. Whereas my friend will change balls. Practiced today and just couldn't carry today. Left a lot of 7's, 10's and a 8 pin. Glad though I have been really consistant with my 10 pins but my damn 7's I have been trying to hook the ball into it and just hitting the oil in the middle and skidding. As for new balls going to be getting my friends rapid fire in about a month. He lives in Vegas I live in hawaii gotta wait till my mom guys go there. But also debating about either picking up the gravity shift or maybe the hy-road but I really need to get back into a league to validate buying a new ball.
rocketpoker828 0
582 tonight, should have shot 600 but left a 7-10 in the 10th in my third game. sigh.
FARGOpokerND 22
Had a nice comeback night tonight. 206-237-267=710 Had only one count under 9 all day (s7-2 in 5th frame of 2nd game) and covered all my single pins (1st game I started with a double, and had 9/'s rest of game minus one strike) Very happy...the MaxxX Zone is a sweeeet ball. hey fargo question for you as far as adjusting shots. But also debating about either picking up the gravity shift or maybe the hy-road but I really need to get back into a league to validate buying a new ball. Each shot is different. For a house shot, as it gets drier, I typically just move left but keep my breakpoint the same. For instance, in my Wednesday league, I typically stand 25 hit 12 and swing my breakpoint out to 7ish. As the lanes dry out, I'll make 2-1 moves left (feet 2 boards and target at the arrows 1 board) to keep my breakpoint about the same for the most part. You want to move to give yourself as much area as you can. By making the moves in, and not adjusting your hand position, you give yourself out-room by moving in. You can miss out and catch the drier area to allow the snap-back, but you can miss in and hit the soup and make it to the pocket still.Sport shots are WHOLE different ballgames. Moving left as it dries out isn't always the best because a sport shot has a 2:1 oil ratio from inside to outside so there is no "out-room" like you get on a house shot. This makes hand positions much more important as WELL as proper ball changes. That is just about finding the right ball reaction.I guess it is hard to describe this all without showing you it all, but I hope this may have clarified a bit.Cliffnotes:-House shot move left-Sport shot switch balls and brand new lines

Just with the technology of balls now a lot of people just change balls regardless of the types of lanes. Whereas others will move left or even adjust release point. And with sport shots you are playing areas of the lane rather than moving specific boards. Just wanted to hear about how you play the lanes when they are breaking down. How will a different ball react on that same line? Will it push through the heads, allowing a cleaner reaction in the back?Just basically becaomes "KNOW YOUR EQUIPMENT"

If you strike in all the selected frames you win the jackpot which is up to almost $7,000! I guess it hasn't been won in over 2 years. My friend hit all but one a few weeks ago. The frame he missed was in the third game. A lone nine pin literally rocked back and forth and stayed up. It was sick.

FARGOpokerND 22
http://bowl.com/articleView.aspx?i=15376&f=1This weekend, the nation's top collegiate bowling teams took part in sectional qualifying for the 2009 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships. Qualifying competition consisted of 64 Baker games bowled at one of four sectional sites: Allentown, Pa., Chattanooga, Tenn., Fairview Heights, Ill., and Las Vegas. Every team began sectionals with the same goal: to finish in the top four in their division. Doing so would mean a trip to the national finals, which will be held April 15-18 at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford, Ill; unfortunately, it was only possible for 16 men's teams and 16 women's teams to reach that goal, and it took some outstanding bowling to do so. In Allentown, Pikeville won the men's competition with a 64-game total of 13,066 pins. Rochester Institute of Technology was second with 12,983, leaving Webber International (12,956) and Robert Morris (Pa.) (12,546) to collect the final two qualifying positions. Maryland-Eastern Shore topped the women's field with 12,027 pins. Defending women's national champion Pikeville finished second with 11,902 pins. Penn State (11,791) and Erie Community College (11,575) finished third and fourth, respectively. Saginaw Valley State had an easy time at the Chattanooga Sectional, putting up 13,477 pins to win the men's competition by nearly 700 pins over second-place Robert Morris (Ill.), which finished with 12,789 pins. Purdue (12,757) and Vincennes (12,709) grabbed the final two advancing spots, narrowly holding off Florida State (12,691), Morehead State (12,622) and Central Florida (12,613). Things were not nearly as close on the women's side. Central Florida breezed to the title, shooting 12,778 to finish well ahead of second-place Bellarmine (11,876) and third-place Robert Morris (Ill.) (11,838). Ball State shot 11,641 to secure the final advancing position. The Wichita State men's team earned the right to defend its national title by shooting 13,657 to win the Fairview Heights Sectional. Newman (13,169), Nebraska-Lincoln (13,147) and Calumet (12,718) also made it through. Nebraska-Omaha (12,592) and Western Illinois (12,570) also were in the hunt, both finishing within 200 pins of the qualifying number. Things were even closer on the women's side where Calumet (11,540) grabbed fourth place just 38 pins ahead of fifth-place Wisconsin-Whitewater (11,502). Wichita State won the division with 12,473 pins. Wright State (11,678) and Newman (11,591) finished second and third, respectively. The final spots to ITCs were given out at the Las Vegas Sectional. Fresno State (12,994), Lindenwood (12,823), Arizona State (12,805) and North Dakota State (12,703) advanced in the men's competition while McKendree (12,131), Lindenwood (12,101), Fresno State (11,793), Martin Methodist (11,658) made it through on the women's side.SHIP IT BITCHESOur best tourney in our brief 3 year history and it comes at the biggest time. We were the 13th ranked seed in the SECTIONAL (57th overall) so ship the upsets! One of our bowlers won the individual portion on Friday as well, sending him to the nationals on the individual front (same thing, top 16 bowlers with 4 from each sectional, he took 1st out of 86 bowlers)Such a sick week from beginning to end. We shot a 288 game early on day 2 to put some separation. We were leaders after 16 of the 64 baker games. We almost blew a 200 pin lead with 8 games to go (McKendree, the 7th best college in the country, caught up to -78 pins in 5 games before we shut them down last 3)It was an INTENSE weekend and now we have a month to prep for the biggest tourney of our lives to date.I am just glad I get to bowl one more college tourney before my career is over!
