I am also not interested in the money as I am above material possesions, except really cool Bible's with lots of the 'right' verses highlighted to let everyone know how spiritual I am, obviously leather bound.I have many leather bound books. ~ron burgundy

opie 0
I think the term "Christian" is too broad to clearly define your subject. I'm not just talking about the different denominations. Obama's former pastor Jeremiah Wright and George W Bush both are Christians, with polar opposite views on probably just about everything. With Christianity being the listed reglision of 80% of Americans (if I read census results on Wikipedia correctly), it shouldn't be hard to find someone in the WSOP who identifies themselves as being Christian. There are lots of Christians who believe a vow of poverty is a valuable part of their Christianity - nuns, many orders of priests (Jesuits, Franciscans, ...), Catholic Workers, etc. I doubt you will find any one with that viewpoint playing in the WSOP, although if you did, that would make quite an interesting documentary. Mercury69 3
FCP, make sure you get a piece of the proceeds. I expect this is a for profit film and any participation by the poker players should be compensated. Also, expect the filmmakers to have an agenda. If you don't fit in whatever slant they are taking, be aware that your image and words may be edited to make you look like a douche. This shouldn't be an issue for those of us who are already perceived as "douchey". Peace,OpieI agree that "Christian" is too broad a term. Jerry Yang prayed for luck on the felt and for his hands to hold up. I'm Catholic.....we have to follow that up with the proper amount of guilt............"Oh crap, I just asked for something selfish instead of praying for grandma's hip surgery, now I'm going to lose this tourney and get a flat tire on the way home." dlingdling 0
and we are not michael moore, we are not going to slice and dice and take out of contextA more apt disclaimer might have been: We're not Fox News. We're not going to misrepresent you, make up stories about you, distract you with fluff while not reporting real news, or visibly change your Chyron'd party affiliation to suit our agenda. That they chose Michael Moore as their example of a villain is an enlightening glimpse into their biases as filmmakers.

Again, i don't know if twisting unknown poker players to look like something else is very lucritive, popular, or sought after to gain peer-level respect. Not very pastor like. Oh wait, it probably is.thanks for the life advice...but, "condescending to the poor idiot" is kind of contridictory. He's not a poor idiot. It just seems that TV has made him unhappy...just trying to do my part in bettering society... But, its seems you have a problem with pastors, which, depending on your veiw on faith and church (which must be high since you are trying to hold me to your standard) really puts you in a pickle. loogie 115
I abhorred last year's final table. All that praying turned me off in a big way.I think praying to win at the poker table is insulting to the other players (not to mention the god to whom you are praying). By doing so, you're asking for God's favor over the other players at the table. It's pretty selfish. If you're going to pray to win, do it before the game or while on the john at break. cardcore 0
I do now...i'll message youi love being arrogantalso, i agree with loogie. If I prayed at the table I'd have an unfair advantage since the Jews are the chosen people. We have a direct connection with God, so obviously he'd choose the Jew at the table over anyone else (case in point, Matusow wins bracelet last night). So, If I were to pray at the table while - say - Jerry Yang was praying at the table, his prayer waves would be redirected elsewhere while mine went straight to God's ears. Savvy?
