AbsolutKnuts 0
I played a largish multi table tournament the other night (live) and have a question regarding what the best strategy would have been in this sort of tourney. There was a total field of approx 90 players, mostly donkeys, starting chip stack was 2500 chips. The blinds started at 25/50 and doubled every 10 minutes. There were 8 players per table and no antes. Buy in was $200 with top 8 paid. With the blinds increasing rapidly like this what is the best way to approach from the start? I started playing very tight in the opening blind levels and was watching my table and the tables around me, noticing that players were calling with shit and relying on luck. Half way through the 2nd blind level i adjusted my game to seeing as many flops as cheaply as possible hoping to hit it hard and value to the river. Discuss

KoRnholio 2
Probably still is +EV... Although having 8 or less hands per level would severely decrease any edge you might have. It's a double edged sword. This tourny is full of donks because the luck component is so high. But then the massive number of donks brings in a few good players chasing them
potatoman 0
See cheap flops with small pairs, suited connectors up to KQs. With hands like AQ+, 88+, I wouldn't be scared to just ship it in preflop. It's all very stack dependent. The bigger my stack in relation to the blinds, the tighter I will be with my shipping range.I think my local casino has a similar tournament only it costs between $40-$60.... Mercury69 3
Don't play that tourney ever again. That is my advice.
