I'm actually surprised that the 64.1% isn't higher. Is there a new rule that all posts must relate to OP?The 64.1% was for the highest level of confidence that God is real, not the whole gambit of agnostic schizophrenia which was spread over 6 levels of belief but not at a confident level. speedz99 145
Is there a new rule that all posts must relate to OP?No, I suppose not.The 64.1% was for the highest level of confidence that God is real, not the whole gambit of agnostic schizophrenia which was spread over 6 levels of belief but not at a confident level.I figured that, but it still surprises me. I was under the impression that most people that say they believe in God say so because it's 100% in their minds.

speedz99 145
yeah, it seems like a strange thing to kinda believe in..Yeah. I mean, I guess it depends on how you say it. I'll throw this out to everyone...my best guess is that at the beginning of the universe there was a single point of energy from which everything flowed. I think the odds are that it did not have a consciousness and there is basically no chance that it has ever intervened in what I suppose you could call it's "creation". This point of energy could be called "God".What am I? Atheist? Kinda-Theist?

Little Dickie Dawkins has accomplished nothing, and he'll reap the rewards for it.Or you can argue that the OP's poll is faulty because your data is different, which would mean that the above graph is nothing but make believe. All those countries he listed were probably imaginary polls, not hard science ones like yours where they actually talked to the people in Africa and China to get their opinions on things like Darwinian evolution and atheism. Like that is remotely true...lolOf course he did say he threw the whole chart together in 10 minutes as he stated in his website. But it's so cool and makes you guys feel good about your denial so, enjoy it. checkymcfold 0
the whole scope of this discussion is kinda hilariously wrongheaded.1. i don't even know how you can quantify religious fundamentalism for a graph. attempting to do so probably indicates a lower IQ, methinks.2. IQ is retarded and pretty much useless to begin with.3. even if we buy the kind of stupid thesis of that article, saying that religious people are dumb is utterly useless in terms of any day to day life stuff if any smart religious people in fact exist.4. the number of practitioners of various religions of the world has literally zero bearing on anything whatsoever, except the size of their respective churches.5. the number of people that believe one thing or another has literally zero bearing on the actual truth of that statement. over 90% of the world's population used to believe the world was flat. vbnautilus 48
I can't quite tell if those who are quoting the numbers of people who believe in such-and-such are implying that these numbers have anything to do with the objective truth of those beliefs. But it sorta seems that way.

El Guapo 8
Hmmm. Where are the IQ test originating from? How much of the IQ tests are based on modern education? How much of it is geographical? The lowest ones have some significant other factors that may play into the low scores.Southern Baptist - Tend to be in rural areas that have poor education systems (according to the movies I have seen)Pentecostal - These people are on the verge of being Quakers or Amish - so if the tests were about making furniture out of fallen lumber that graph might be inverted. Southern Baptists rule the south period, both small towns and cities... there are something like 16 million of them, making them by far the largest protestant denomination. Pentecostal- You may be making a joke here, but Penecostals are very different from both the Quakers and the Amish ( both of which are nothing alike either.)

AmScray 355
2. IQ is retarded and pretty much useless to begin with. You will often find that the most strident defenders of the "equality" delusion take this LOL worthy position, almost as if it's dogma. IQ test? Bah... Really, it's all just smoke and mirrors that means nothing and cannot measure anything of value.Anyone care to make the connection as to why this is? Why people who maintain that "Type A" is really equal to "Type B" in spite of virtually every indicator pointing to the contrary take issue with the indices themselves?Anyway, I'm off to prove that indeed, stopwatches really aren't capable of measuring the time of a 50 yard dash based on certain socioeconomic variables which don't take into account the possible differences in shoe size that may or may not ultimately contribute to foot speed...
