Addition Of Other Games

i know that things are just getting going with pokervt, but i was wondering when content from other, non-NLHE games would start being added. i'd be a lot more likely to sign up when that happens (since i haven't played NLHE regularly in years), but i don't want to miss out on the promo pricing, etc.i know that an exact timeframe is probably too much to ask, but when is the general plan for going in this sort of direction?

I'm not going to lie, it's going to take some time. The key reason for that is that we want to do it right. It would be easy to just throw some online videos of HORSE up there, but the plan at PokerVT is to duplicate the format we used for NLH with all of the games. Each game will likely be added one at a time. I'm debating on whether the next game we cover will be PLO or LH. It won't happen before the end of the WSOP 08.

I second LHE. I think there is a lot that can be learned from limit that can carry over into nl. For new players, it's also a great game to at least know the basics for.Just signed up last night. There's easily enough content to keep me busy for a while, some of it probably worth a couple of viewings. Liking the DN stuff the best so far. Would love more Kirk.Also, would like to see some vids on rebuy tournament strategy and new players would probably benefit from some non-turbo, full ring sng vids.Looking forward to some stud hi/lo vids in the future.

Seriously, add PLO first and put limit games after that. It's not even a close contest if you think about which game is hotter right now and will get more and more popular in the future, it's PLO not LHE. In some of the high stakes Internet games PLO is already more popular than NLH and the popularity of PLO is rising fast in lower limits. Lots of people right now want to become really good in PLO.That's my rational argument, other than that I just find limit games personally extremely boring. PLO on the other hand I like a lot as it has a lot of action and big pots, although getting used to the variance takes some time as it's a different animal compared to NLH. I will keep my fingers crossed that the first choice will be PLO, if not then just asap please. :-)

There are far more LHE games than there are PLO games on the poker site I play on. I'd like to know why or how you determined PLO to be "hotter" just because it happens to be played quite a bit amongst high stakes players.This product is certainly not targetting high stakes players, is it?

Agreed. There's still a ton of lower limit grinders playing limit, esp. short handed who would love some vids. Every game should be added eventually, but I think, since part of the site is meant to build great players out of beginners, adding something like limit first makes a whole lot more sense than something like Omaha, which, IMO, beginners should avoid until they have a good grasp of holdem.Also, at least where I'm from, you can barely get a game of Omaha at the casino, while there's slightly more limit tables running than nl. This site is also intended to help live players as well.

This. I believe the general consensus is that PLO will be the next big game. I also feel like a fair amount of Professor Swayne's math is already fairly applicable to LHE. That being said I really haven't gotten too far into that section (or any section for that matter) and I love the site and am not the type of person to just bolt if my preferred game isn't the next one to be covered. it's fine that you like PLO better than LHE, but on virtually any poker site on the net, you're going to find more people playing LHE than PLO by a significant margin. fwiw, i also seriously doubt your predictive abilities in terms of the future of poker, especially when any live casino avoids spreading PL games like the plague.

I've been playing live LHE for 6 years now, and have recently got into a game that plays rounds of LHE and round of FL O8, so I would biasedly vote for learning some more omaha... but would also volunteer to play in a live LHE video...as a donkey of course lol

I also think LHE would be a logical choice for the next series of videos. I enjoy LHE to NLHE actually. However, I do like them both I just prefer limit.
