Best Hotel To Stay At

Recommended Posts

Well, I am getting married at the beginning of September. (I know, gg, etc.) She wanted to go International, but we don't really have the money for that. Out of the blue, she says we should go to Vegas (been there before, awesome time.) After I take a knee and thank God for the gift he has given me (My bachelor party is there in a few weeks too) I start to think where should a couple stay? Last time we went there, we stayed with family. Obv not an option. My friends and I are staying at Mandalay Bay for the bachelor party.What would be recommendations for a good place to stay, within a reasonable amount of money. I don't necessarily feel like doling out Bellagio style prices. Pros/cons etc. are appreciated.I know there might be threads about it, as I've read many 'Where to stay threads before' but I'm looking more for a Honeymoon type atmosphere with *some poker time, not the other way around.Thanks in advance.

A few years ago I booked a regular room at Mandalay only to arrive and find a pretty dirty room. So I called down to the front desk to ask to be moved and they said that all they had left were mini-suites. I asked what the difference in price was and it was only like $200 or so more than the regular room, but they cut the price in half because of the inconvenience. The mini suite was amazing! It had floor to ceiling windows with an amazing panoramic view of the entire strip. Along with 2 separate bedrooms and bathrooms. We didn't necessarily need two beds/bathrooms...but it was nice made me feel pretty pimpish.I would check the prices on these for sure, the panoramic view alone is worth it and is pretty romantic at night.

Stay at Paris; Its moderately priced, but has an international feel and pretty nice amenities. Its also right in the middle of the strip, so it will be a lot easier to go do whatever you want while youre there. Mandalay Bay is very nice, but being so far out of the way really sucks imo.

I agree. Go to the top of the Eiffel Tower and watch the Bellagio fountain show. Pretty good restaurants too.

listen to Balloon Guy; it is your honeymoon, I am not staying get a $10K/night suite, but don't let price govern either (if you have money to go there for a bachelor party and to gamble while you are there, you can afford an extra hundo a night on your one and only honeymoon)pick a nice hotel and get a suite there (be it a honeymoon suite or something else); or at least stay at one of the major hotels' all suites towers; i.e. The Signature at MGM is not that expensive at all, but the rooms are much nicer and quieter than regular hotel rooms; theHotel is supposedly incredible (my wife's favorite in Vegas);

Sign up for a comp card at the Venetian when on your batch party. Play a couple hours of poker on it. Then constantly be getting offers from them on your e-mail for 149-169 a night. Think about what $200 a night gets you in most world class cities, $200 a night in Vegas gets you something that would be $500+ elsewhere.

Go to the Venetian during your bachelor party and talk to a casino host. Tell him you want to be fully accomodated for the night and will exclusively gamble there. Also tell him your honeymoon will be spent there as well. The more you spend the more he'll throw your way. If you gamble a lot during the bachelor party they might even throw in a free suite. It's all depending on how much you spend but more importantly who sees you doing it. Remember that.

Good idea. Another Question. How far out from the actual date should I book it for best deals etc? The bachelor party is end of June. Wedding is beginning of September. If I wait until after the B party, won't that cut down my options or not?

THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. Best of both worlds, at in between prices. Check it out when youre there for the bachelor party.
This is a good choice if you want to save a little $ but still stay at a v nice hotel.I would tell you to just go ahead and spend since its your honeymoon, and in that case you should stay at the Wynn.Whatever you do, when you check at the front desk slip a $50 over to the clerk when they ask for your credit card. Ask if they have any "complementary upgrades". They will almost always upgrade you to a nicer room and save you quite a bit of $.

lol i feel like if i did that... the guy would just give me a weird look as he hands me my key and takes the 50$.... then i would quickly walk away feeling both disappointed and embarassed.

i like this idea but if you are not willing to do this then you have to listen to ballon guy. its you honeymoon man you got to go that extra mile. when i went on mine we were going to get a basic room but i just said screw it and went for the upgrades. it was well worth it and your wife will greatly appreciate it. and speaking from experience if your wife likes it you will like it even more. just think about the possiblilites you could have with a bigger room, a hot tub, and a panoramic view of the strip while you partake in the consumation of you marriage. remember this is suppose to be a one time thing so make sure you treat it as such.anyway congrats on getting married, i got married on September 1 of last year its a good month to get married until a Category 5 hurricane makes land fall in Belize

If you don't mind staying outside the strip. I would suggest Green Valley Ranch. My family stay there when they come into town. The District has some nice shops.

Also casually mention that it's your honeymoon. Depends a bit on how long you're staying, weekdays vs weekends and generally how crowded the hotel is but they'll bend over backwards to get you the nicest room they possibly can if you both slip the tip and mention the honeymoon.

i actually got married in vegas and we sprung for a suite (hot tub and mirrored ceilings ftw) We got married during our pool tournament and did a whole lot of booking of rooms and had a very long stay (we were there for 2 weeks) so we got tons of special room rates and stuff along with champagne in the room and whatnot. Srsly, wherever you choose to stay, go the extra mile for your wife, if you make it memorable for her, she will definately make it memorable for you. Congrats and good luck

Although it's called the $20 trick, so 50 might not be necessary... though it couldn't hurt.
