AvoidReality 0
Hey allWell ive been lurking on this forum for awhile so thought it was about time i joined it myself.Anyway i was wondering if anyone had seen Phil Hellmuths 4 dvd series and what they thought of them, my Cousin is interested in starting playing poker and i saw the 4 dvds going cheap in a bundle so wondered if i should recommend her picking them up as a starting point (along with super system of course!)Any help would be much appreciated
Eclypse 0
These DVDs are going to be very dissapointing to anyone other than a total beginner. So, if she's just getting into poker I'd say they are ok.Other than that, forget it.
RickyG033 0
Yeah, I have the Million Dollar Poker System one. Its OK. I agree with the statement that it is for beginners. It is interesting to see how his animals relate to player types and to see his top 10 hands and things like that. It talks a little about pot odds as well.
PrtyPSux 0
here's my review on the set ( I have all of them)... The Million dollar poker system is for a complete novice to LIMIT HOLDEM dont buy it if you want no limit strategy.. it talks about it a little bit only. basically he says to play pkt pairs a's - 7's AK and AQ.. he is verry tight.. anyway its not a great dvd but if he is a completely new player and plans on playing limit cash games it will help. The rest of the DVD's of online, tournaments, and bluffing and tells, are just a bunch of stories about him and how he is so great. he'll tell you about how he stole the blinds 20-some times in a row and then when he finally got called he happened to have aces, or how he had one chip then won the tourney.. u know things like that. I like Phil, and he keeps the dvd's from getting boring (like ledderer's) but they are not very informative.. if you want something informative I would recommend ledderer's for No Limit. He is a really smart guy and has one DVD for begginners and one for more advanced which really became the "base" in my play (and after I watched them is when I began to win).. he also has one for Tells, they say it's good but I haven't had the chance to see them. * plus it makes a good sleeping aid, if you cant get to sleep. AceSpades11 0
I own all hellmuths dvd's and howards dvd's.... hellmuths were garbage and howards second was pretty good.Plus howard's voice may be monotone and boring but at least it beats Hellmuth's whiny mommy buy me that toy voice.
