I can tell you why he did what he did... you raised pre-flop bet off the flop and then checked on the turn. He sensed weakness after the turn. You were weak with an extremely strong hand heads up. Plus he has no reason to go all in on the river with three 2's, unless hes a bad player more than likely in heads up your not going to have two pair.. He probably would have bet something like 2000-4000 to get better value than going all in. I'm glad you picked up on that on the end.. it was a ballsy call but a correct one for how it was played. You need to know how strong hands are in heads up. Sets are extremely rare and if you have two pair or a TPTK your almost always going to have to pay them off, but they are hard enough to pick out in a 10-handed game so to put someone on one heads up makes it even tougher. Oh well, you induced a hell of a bluff and you called him on it, but a bet on the turn would have made things easier for ya even though the outcome might have only put you up 1-2k chips instead of $15 in your pocket.

u had top pair with a good kicker heads up. BIG DEAL.
What do you mean? The hand the OP is talking about is not worth discussing or that she shouldn't have moved all her chips on this hand?

i flopped top two pair and he an open ended straight draw the hand before he caught his card on the river :club: the game before this oneif i bet on the turn i dont think he would have gone all in on the riveri did think he was weak and i could induce a bluff but i was still a little worried he had flopped a monsterthanks for the feedback

It's a horse a piece. If he is making crazy bets that makes the game irritating, but tilts it extremely in your favor. How many times do your nut hands get paid off in heads-up, slim to none... If you have a good read on him and you can see through a bluff that makes the game go a lot faster.

You have top pair with a decent kicker heads up and fairly short money. You should rarely ever fold this hand the way it was played out. The damage you sustain from folding this on the river is greater than the risk that you are up against a bigger hand. Also, as has been said before, bet the turn (at least with short stacks) so you don't put yourself in position to be bluffed.

okay i didnt bet the turn to induce a bluff i knew if he bet the river he was bluffing if i bet the turn he would have folded as any sane player would with bottom pair 6 kicker

Ignore that part of my post then. I'm tired. Its night time over here. :-)But don't fold this hand for any reason other than him showing you his cards.

some power poker being played around hereok ill give some input, if you thought he was bluffing you should have raised all in on the turn, he could have something like AJ and by just calling you allow him to hit on the river, one pair is a weak hand and you need to protect it by getting him to commit alot of chips with a bad hand, you also protect yourself if i scary card hits on the river, if an ace, queen or jack hit it would be much harder to call his allinif you felt that your top was good which is most likely is, a check raise on the turn would have been a much better playbut it did work out in the end and you got all the chips
