Thriceknurd 0
Quick backround. I've been to Vegas 5 times since I've turned 21. I've always gone with friends and all we do is play poker, which works out because it's the only reason we go. I'm turning 23 this May and my wife reserved a room at the MGM (my favorite casino/poker room) for my birthday for a weekend. This is the first time I'll be going with her. My wife is not a gambler, and I'd like to keep the poker playing to a minimum so she's not alone or bored! Anyone have any advice on what to do out in Vegas? I've already checked out vegas.com to see some attractions/shows, but I'd like to hear from those who've taken a trip to Vegas with their wife/girlfriends. ADVICE?!! Thanks. Big ol tub and mirrors above the bed and tub.But seriously.... Married at 22? Damn dude.Lots of shows, outlet mall, regular mall, nice dinners, video poker to entertain her while you play real poker.Besides the shows, that's pretty much what Brigette does when we go. That or she plays also, but not quite as much as me.

copernicus 0
If your food budget allows for it, you will totally impress your wife by taking her to Pamplemousse. It is by far the most romantic restaurant in LV, with the best French/continental food on top of it. Its off the strip on Sahara, and not in a casino. Duck, steaks and chops are there specialties, and the menu changes often but a sample is at PamplemousseIve been to every Cirque show, all very good, my favorites are Love (ex-hippie Beatles fan bias) and Ka, Zumanity if she's into French bawdy humor. The Folies Bergiere show at MGM is awful, don't even think about it. Penn & Teller is fun. Monty Pytons Spamalot awesome (ex-hippie Python fan bias). Mama Mia and Phantom are supposed to be good, but I hate musicals except for Spamalot. Blue Man Group is good, not great.

Hopefully he's Sir Robin and not King Arthur! John O'Hurley (J Peterman on Seinfeld) is great as King Arthur.

BigLebowski 0
If you go to Vegas you have to take her to at least one buffet and my wife loves the Bellagio with the Paris coming in a not so close second. She loves the Cirque shows, but I refuse to spend $150 on a show ticket. I always like to remind her of this right when I have around $300 on the craps board. Definitely do the Bellagio fountain show..this is usually good for as many times as you want. My wife never gets sick of it. If you are getting a rental car you can drive to Hoover Dam and Valley of Fire. My wife wasn't a gambler either until she met the roulette wheel. Putting your budget in the OP would help too. zoo 0
If you want a good cheap evening entertainment, check out the Comedy Stop at Tropicana. Pick up one of the little coupon books they have all over town and you can get in for $15 each and that includes a drink (pretty limited bar but better than no bar). They have 3 comedians per show. TheWynn 0
DONT DO THIS!!!!!Well 6 yrs ago I took my girlfriend at the time to vegas. My 3rd time her first. We left the IP around 10am after a nice breakfast and some screwdrivers. She wanted to "walk the strip." Which was fine with me. Little did I know what she had in mind. Except it was the middle of the summer and and we proceeded to walk from the IP down to the Stratosphere and all the way back down to Mandalay Bay. Stopping in just about every casino along the way. I swear to god we didnt get back to the hotel till 8pm or so. I was drunk which was good, but I lost about 15lbs that day. DONT LET THAT HAPPEN TO YOU. It just pisses me off thinking about it. I've given my wife money to play before and she has fun but she plays horrible. As for money we're bringing $1,000 with us and pretty much improvising as of now. Not sure how much we'll gamble. I'd like to use the our budget for nice restaurants/buffets and shows for the most part. Now I have a much better idea of what I'll be planning. We don't need a rental car since we're in SoCal and from where we live it's about a 3 hour drive.

If you win, have a great time with your 2 G's. If you lose, I hear they might have cable in the rooms and you might be able to hear the guy in the room next to you paying X hundred of dollars to get a weak handjob in the same room w/ his brother. gruven 530
Judging by the bits they showed on the show, I believe he is Sir Robin.O'Hurley is Arthur, and the show is hysterical. Tell them it's your birthday, and ask for the VIP backstage tour when the show is over. Gives you a chance to meet ol' J. Peterman in person. (I did it this past weekend). Also..-Go to Social House (in Treasure Island) for sake out on the patio. Go around 11:15 pm. The pirate show starts at 11:30 and you have the best seat in the house, and it doesn't cost you a bundle. -Go to the old Glitter Gulch on Fremont ave. It's dirty, touristy, and cheesey. Also lots of fun.-Go to any cirque show. I have seen them all as well... 'Love' for the music, 'KA' for the stage, 'Zumanity' for the sexxxy, and 'O' for the spectacle. There are a couple of kiosks on the strip (one across from Bellagio, and one in the Fashion Mall) where you can pick up discounted tickets on the same day of the show.-Hard Rock Hotel pool for Rehab sunday. Don't take the wife. Seriously.
mhoward29 0
This is almost as good as it gets with the wife. Although I got to play poker because I was smart and made sure we went with another couple. That way when my buddy and I were playing my wife and his gf could go shopping or slots. Anyway, gl and post a trip report.Vegas trip report with wife
