Little PunishOriginal raiser was 33, 19, 1.5 and shover was 10, 10, .5. He open shoved twice earlier.I didn't want to flat and leave Ranto with an easy over-shove. But I felt like I was ahead of the shover's range, and Ranto had obv. been quite active. Is this a fold, call, or raise, and if it's a raise, how much should I make it? copernicus 0
Edited because Im an idiot who misread the entire hand. You have a loose raiser and a tight player shoving without fold equity. If the hand were ending here, its a fold. However, you may be able to exploit Ranto for some more chips, being way ahead of his range and with position. The problem is in the "may". Everyone knows that you dont bluff into a dry side pot, so if Ranto bets, how often are you ahead? If he checks and you bet how often does he call?I think on balance its still a fold, but a lot closer than the way I first read it.Original post:Dont know why this got lost in the shuffle, so bump. Its interesting because its a 10/10/5 who managed to open shove twice. How do you reconcile those two, unless he just likes to overbet? In this hand, though, I think its a fold. Youre dominated vs a re-raise too often to make it pay.
Aces Rule 0
Original raiser was 33, 19, 1.5 and shover was 10, 10, .5. Is this a fold, call, or raise, and if it's a raise, how much should I make it?Not sure why you think Ranto is going to come over your flat call but if you have that feeling then the fold is pretty easy since you have nothing invested in that pot yet. However, we have a very short stack shoving and a chance to eliminate him from the tourney and you think your hand is ahead. Most of the time I'd probably just flat call and fold if Ranto comes over top - it's just over 12% of your stack but when Ranto calls you'll be getting over 2:1 pot dods or more if one of the blinds call too. Re-raising a pf raise and a re-r all-in doesn't appeal to me - the pot is already big and I can't count on Ranto folding. Better to see the flop and decide with position what to do next I think. Make a note on Ranto if he does come over top of your flat call - and get even later - LOL - just kiddin! That kind of thinking will lead to tilt and you don't want that! In other words, a flat call would not look suspicious to him. He was hungry for some bounties and I knew he would try to scoop-a-loop my overcall my 4-betting AI. I know you're not supposed to post results on here, but I opted to min. raise without a plan. If he comes over the top, I probably would have folded about 80% of the time. Of course he 5-bets with 99!!!! I throw up all over my laptop and muck. Shover had JJ, flop Q high. Puke. I think if I get in this spot again, I muck. Just a difficult spot.
