Lolli 0
I cannot wait for all the kind words when we find Bin Laden dead. Where do you draw the line between someone dying being a celebration or a tragedy? Who gives anyone the right to draw that line for others?People die every day. I have too many people that are close to me to worry about some psycho broad that offs herself. And noone said you have to give a damn about her or worry about some psycho broad that offs herself, but for some people to be completely heartless is, at the VERY least, uncalled for and unnecessary. You know about 40 billion African kids just died while you typed that? Are you sad for everyone of those?Am i sad about it? To tell you the truth, until you typed that it didnt cross my mind. However, that doesnt mean that i would celebrate their deaths. No, what I said was necessary to my point.Yes a life was lost, but a life of a person who had no respect for anyone else's lives and obviously not even her own. Why should we celebrate the life of Brandi Hawbaker when she did basically nothing but bad, deceitful things to get what she wanted. Then when her bad ways stopped working so well, she changes her name to try and hide from everyone who's lives she tried to ruin, but then when that doesn't work, she kills herself. Doesn't sound ANYTHING like the person who's death we should be mourning, more like finding, educating, and helping others who are going down the same path Brandi is going but are still able to be rehabilitated. We can learn from people like Brandi. Just because a human life was taken means nothing to me. People die everyday, good people die everyday, bad people die everyday, it is inevitable. Instead of mourning her because she is what we all are, a human, take a step back and reflect on the life she lived and then maybe you will realize to not judge how your mourn the dead simply because they are one of us, but do it because you loved or hated who they were and what they represented when they were still alive. So true.Sure, people die everyday. So if this wasnt a suicide but rather a murder would you feel it was warranted? Justiced in some way? You didnt like her. You thought she was a bad, evil, manical person. Whatever it is you think about her.. she didnt lead a lifestyle that was what you would consider moral. BUT THAT DOESNT MAKE IT A JOYOUS OCCASSION THAT SHES DEAD.
TravisG 0
Funerals are not for the dead, they're for the living. When someone takes their own life, it's the family members and friends who loved them that suffer. This is why I believe suicide to be such a selfish act.exactly what i wanted to say but english is not my motherlanguage, so i needed to write a little bit more. sorry @ that cool dude who called me a moron for my poor grasp of the english language. HighwayStar 8
I think a few people have started to make real fools out of themselves in the last few posts. I cannot wait for all the kind words when we find Bin Laden dead. Where do you draw the line between someone dying being a celebration or a tragedy? Who gives anyone the right to draw that line for others? How can you possibly compare the two. Sure she wasn't saintly. Sure she screwed over a few people but using a mass murdering ****head as a comparative tool is just wrong. I see your argument but I don't think it works. You know about 40 billion African kids just died while you typed that? Are you sad for everyone of those?Apart from the fact this is a blatent overexaggeration it's also stupid. You can't relate directly to that, you just know it's happening but you can't see it happening. With this girl there are pictures and stories everywhere. It's impossible to directly empathise with people dying in poverty but it's very easy to read about what Brandi went through and what she did and for your opinion to sway this way and that.I haven't bothered reading all of this thread but from what I know, NONE of you know anything about her state of mind when she was alive and what she has been through in her life. All you know are second/third/fourth hand rumours of what she's done to people you don't know to start with. I think it's a bit sad some of you hate a person you've never met so much. I don't care about her dying as such but I'm certainly not glad she's dead.

Beyond that I disagree. Agreed?

BUT THAT DOESNT MAKE IT A JOYOUS OCCASSION THAT SHES DEAD.Agreed Regarding the suicide is weak/the worst way out that's something which is individual specific. Since I don't know much about mental illness and how various conditions make your state of mind OR the circumstances surrounding her suicide I'm not going to comment. I also think some people are just arguing for arguings sake.
TravisG 0
It is abundantly clear that several members here (TravisG and Willing2die to name a few) have no knowledge about mental illness and no commonsense what so ever.what does what i said have to do with common sense? why are there always assholes who need to get personal? i shared my oppinion and if you don't share it or have something to say about it, do it, but stop getting personal about anyone because you don't share their oppinion. and yeah i dont have that much of a clue about mental illness. im still going to say what i think. i dont have any problems with changing my opinion if i see what i said was wrong. SpiderGuard 0
I always saw Brandi as a personification of the degeneracy of the poker world, where many people feel that money trumps morality and the way greed can make a normally decent person do indecent things.Brandi was a victim of being an attractive young woman in a world that eats them up and spits them out. Not one of us would want our sister, daughter or wife involved in that world. One of the best things I've ever read on this forum. Without knowing her, it seems like Brandi was drawn into the poker world because she considered herself capable of manipulating men, especially men with money who crave attention from beautiful women more than the typical LA stockbroker. Unfortunately she didn't understand the depths of degeneracy in the poker world, nor did she apparently understand what was going on inside her own head. While she thought she was working these men, the reality is that many of the people in her world were newly rich and had no problem shelling out a few bucks to get some amusement at her expense. Her previous suicidal gestures were probably a way of trying to control the world around her, and when they didn't work she ultimately had to go one step further.I'm sitting here trying to think of something to add to BG's post, and I really can't so I'll just quote him one more time:"I always saw Brandi as a personification of the degeneracy of the poker world, where many people feel that money trumps morality and the way greed can make a normally decent person do indecent things." She is also survived by four uncles, three aunts and 20 cousins who, Gerson said, "loved her very, very, very much." As per the family's request, they will remain anonymous. Gerson also wished to express how much she was loved by him.The funeral will take place in Nashville in the next couple days and will be private. Ms. Hawbaker will be creamated and her ashes will be scattered in one of the oceans as requested.DNA????
