That's pretty meaningless unless you also saw her make good calls.
It's even more meaningless because it's a cash game and DBs laydown is in a tournament.

I dont see how its meaningless. If you feel you're beat then you should fold. She was a tournament player fyi, not just some random broad stepping in to play for an hour or two.

I think laying it down in a cash game is even more impressive. You can always just reload if you're wrong.

You have to realise that the games are going to be a lot more rare then stud. PA talks about working on his pineapple game in his latest blog. Dont be surprised if DB just makes up a game on the day. Also here is the reason why DB will crush in NLHE Chip vs Doyle NLHE horse final table.
Is it just me or is playing the final table of a HORSE! tournament in NLHE completely retarded?

No, it definitely is, but that's so 2006. :club:

It's meaningless because you don't know why she folded. It could have been for the wrong reasons.. whether or not it was a good fold or not. Therefore, seeing some good calls would show that she did know what she was doing. To illustrate to an extreme level.. Someone could literally fold every single hand in a tournament. Odds are that they will, along the way, make some 'great' folds.

Ya you're right. I wasn't playing at the same table with her for a couple of hours or anything like that. I'm not allowed to form an opinion on whether she was a good player or not. In retrospect, you're in a much better position to judge how good a player is based on one hand. You don't need to play with that person. I dont even know what I was thinking to question you.

The smack continues...from Patriks blog:Posted: 19 Apr 2008 01:42 PM CDTI was enjoying my first few days back in Vegas when all of a sudden I received a ton of phone calls and emails all asking me about a golf match with Doyle Brunson. I had no idea what they were talking about until I read Doyle's blog, and saw he challenged me to a $100,000 per hole golf match. First of all, when the hell did Doyle Brunson start writing a blog, is it even legal for a man that old to blog? Pretty amazing for a guy that was around before TV's and telephones. And second, what is the gambling world coming to when a 108 year old man can challenge a young man in the prime of his life to a $100,000 a hole golf match. Now you have to remember I took up golf only a few months ago. I am very happy if I can break 100 when I play 18 holes. Doyle on the other hand, is rumored to have hustled the likes of Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, and other legends at Shadow Creek since the early 20's.I would like Doyle to know that I accept his challenge (not that I had much of a choice, I would be the laughing stock of the poker world if I backed down from this challenge) and if I have until August to practice and improve, hopefully I can make a big dent in Todd's inheritance. Seeing Todd cringe when I win millions is going to be worth just as much as the money. Doyle and I met this past Wednesday to discuss our upcoming heads up poker match before we played on Poker After Dark that evening. In the three years I have known Doyle, I have never seen him looking more alive and with so much energy and focus. Most likely due to the fact that he thinks he has finally found the ultimate fish who is going to donate millions on the golf course and poker table. I am going to play some tennis in the morning and then hit the putting and chipping greens to work on my short game. The WPT Bellagio starts for me Sunday and you can bet that I will bring my best game and fight hard for every chip.

Yeah and this dude I know once beat Johnny Chan in a single hand. It was so sick. He sat waaaaaaaaay above his roll. Somehow was able to 5-bet Johnny with only like 20 bb's. But Johnny folded! Suddenly my friend got a ton of confidence after playing one hand well. So he went to the local underground poker club. Unfortunately, he was cleaned out by some Russian.

I think there is some good natured ribbing going on here. Very possibly to hype it up for a potential TV spot.
yeah, I guess your right. the nature of the comment by Patrick though, they were very personal.Btw, forgot to mention this, I shaked Doyle's and at the Irish Open this year :club: I don't usually annoy people like that, but I had to do something, it was the Doyle Brunson after all.My friend said one of the funniest things I'd heard in a long time to him. He was after a good day at the tables and took the night to go drinking. 3hrs later he appears back. He is entering the playing hall and see Doyle. He goes over to him and says "Doyle, you know some people love you for your poker ability, but me, I love you for your fashion sense"Doyle replied with what seemed like a genuine chuckle. Haha, good times.

Yes.Doyle gets to pick the game(s) played so obv. they won't play the games where PA has a big edge i.e. PLO and NLHE. How much Kansas City lowball and Stud Hi-Low w/ no qualifier do you think Patrik has played? Let alone live, HU and for huge stakes...
You must not play much PLO to think Patrik could have any sort of advantage over any veteran of the game. And as far as him having a BIG edge in NLHE? Maybe. You do realize we're talking about Doyle Brunson, don't you? Doyle Brunson. Not some Swedish internet highroller. DOYLE BRUNSON. Good night.

I call bs on the whole thing after reading that last blog.I was thinking it before I read PA's latest one, but now it's confirmed imo. Doesn't sound like the way he would talk, or Doyle (publicly) for that matter. I think the whole thing is some kind of big prop bet.Someone quote this now, so that in a few months I can say 'I told you so'.
