chrispycream 0
I saw a link for an ad to a online poker cheating website on facebook and clicked. Some of the pictures on the website look fuzzy, but this shit makes me a little scared about playing online. Any thoughts? Is this an obvious fake/scam? Here's a link: http://www.pokerspyware.net/EDIT: On second glance, it looks REALLY fake, but would still like thoughts. The AP and UB scandal makes me think stuff like that could be real tho

Merby 3
That's ok... Don't worry about it.On a completely related note, chek-raise is at the final table of the PS tournamaent # 83605949.I have it on good authority that he used this exact poker software to get there too! Socrates 0
I wouldn't be worried about people cheating with software - I'd be more concerned with the guys who sit in the same room with aircards and all play in the same tourney or cash game. Besides if there was software, why would people sell it, wouldn't you think they could make more money playing the tables and not letting the online rooms onto their scheme. I can't believe people still fall for this 10 years later.

phil4981 0
this is the reply i got from PS ::::::::::::::::::::::::Hello Philip,I thank you for taking the time to contact PokerStars with your concerns.PokerStars takes questions regarding our integrity very seriously, andwe appreciate the opportunity to respond.First and foremost, I assure you that this site and software does not dowhat it says. It claims, "View all hands at your table, as well as seeingthe flop 15 seconds before other players and before you have to bet...",which is just not possible. Our shuffle is completely random, favoring or disfavoring no playerover any other. The computerized methods we use to shuffle the deckare more than sufficient to ensure complete randomization of thecards, and complete unpredictability of the cards to come. You cansee the description of these methods at: http://www.pokerstars.com/security.htmlThe PokerStars random number generator does not suffer from what iscommonly known to computer programmers as being deterministic. Thismeans that the next number given by the generator has no mathematicalrelationship to the prior one. Only in deterministic "pseudo-random"generators is this even a possibility, and PokerStars doesn't use thistype of random number generator. If a poker site were cracked in this manner (and it did happen once,to another site, back in 1999, as described in the link at the bottomof the above URL), it would be a crack unique to that site and thatsite only. Such an exploit would not work across the myriad of sitesthat this utility claims to work on.What is likely, though we've not confirmed this, is that this package isspyware that will show the author of the program *your* hole cards if youinstall it. Spyware is the only means by which someone can possibly see thehole cards of other players, and this package has all the signs of beingmalware: 1) Preying on the avarice of the player (make big money by cheating) 2) Fantastic, unproven claims 3) Claiming to be limited to only a handful of customersFinally, there's a well-known touchstone for identifying scams of thisnature, and that's "why are you selling your system / information?".After all, if you were able to crack through the security of a pokersite and know the other player's cards or the board cards to come...would you sell it for a mere $179.95 as this author claims to do? Or,would you instead use it in a few key hands to win the six figure topprize in our largest tournaments, and a few key $1,000 pots each day?If he has such a system as he describes, why would he sell it for solittle money? It doesn't make sense... and that's because he can't dowhat he claims. He only makes money when someone buys his software. Please don't be the sucker that proves this author correct. There'sno such thing as the hacker tool described on this page. PokerStarsis secure and this software absolutely will not work as advertised onPokerStars. We strongly advise that you not use or install it, asdoing so may introduce spyware or other malicious software into yoursystem.Secondly, bad beats are a natural aspect of the game and you will experiencethese on whichever online site you choose to play on.I must also point out that online play compared to live play does have somestark differences. The first being that you are seeing a far greater numberof hands per hour compared to live play will naturally mean that during thesame playing period in comparison you are going to witness and experience ahigher number of bad beats.Secondly, online players do tend to play more aggressively than what youwould expect to find in a casino. You are also likely to find a highernumber of beginners online as this is where most new players to the game, learn their trade before they will attempt to try their luck in the casinos. With more inexperienced players at the table, they are obviously far morelikely to make bad plays such as chasing two outers to the river and so on.Obviously, at times they will hit their miracle card to win the pot, butpoker is a long run game. As long as you keep playing good solid poker andmaking mathematically sound decisions, then the mistakes made by youropponents will equal profit to you in the long run.The most important thing is to not let a losing streak get into your head.If it does, then you're not just playing against other players -- you'recompeting with yourself. Please be advised once again that our shuffle is truly random and fair.PokerStars has a reputation that has earned the trust and respect of theonline poker community for many years. Our shuffle has been tested, audited, scrutinized and has stood the test of time with countless players. We also have over 16,000,000,000 hands dealt without any statisticalanomalies ever discovered.I hope this alleviates any concerns you may have about our site. If there isanything else we can do for you, please let us know. Best of luck to you inour games!Regards,LawrencePokerStars Support Team
